We love Italian food and if you do, avoid this place. The pasta sauce was terrible. The pasta was overcooked. The atmosphere is loud and gaudy. And the place just wasn't that clean or crisp looking. There is MUCH better Italian food within 10 minutes of this place. more

My friends and family love this place. Rocco teats everyone like family and the food is fantastic! I am a huge fan of the spicy pecan salad topped with a hot grilled tilapia filet, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Just today some friends of mine and I walked up just as they were closing between their lunch and dinner seating and Rocky and his wife were walking out. Just like a fabulous family owned place they were sporting their finest chef's attire greeted us with a fabulous smile and unlocked the doors for us. I have always loved this place, but to see Rocky genuinely happy to open the door and kitchen back up just for us was beyond kindness.... it was like walking into your family's kitchen. They personally waited on us laughing and smiling the whole while and the food was just as fabulous as always. This was very special for us, unbeknownst to them, this was the last meal that my friends and I were going to be having together here in Austin as just the next day one of them was leaving for Dubai and in just a few weeks I will be moving to Europe. Thank you a million times over Rocky for your hospitality and for welcoming us into your ""family"". You are truly and amazing restauranteur and family business owner. more

Let me start by saying, we are very picky eaters and as someone in the customer service industry, have extremely high service expectations. That said, Rocco's Grill passed our scrutiny with flying colors. Ryan, our server, was not only on top of taking care of our table (he never missed a beat) but was extremely personable. Upon being seated, the manager (name unknown unfortunately) greeted us warmly and gave some excellent recommendations. We started with the bella bacci jalapeno shrimp bacon wraps and they were excellent! The entree was superb, as was the wine. We're about to settle in for the evening by polishing off our to-go Chocolate Explosion-what an enjoyable meal. Visit Rocco's-you won't be sorry!!!!! more

Mmmm..start with a UTini! Appetizers are great, however save room for Linda's Salad and ANY of the great entrees.\r \r Feel like you're really cared about by the staff makes it even more inviting.\r \r We make the drive from Houston and it's well worth it!!! more

I absolutely LOVE Rocco's Grill... It is my favorite place in Lakeway, despite all the new restaurants that have opened in the area!! If you've never been you should definitely try it! They have the BEST Happy Hour specials in the area hands down and its every day of the week!! more

When I made the trip out to Lakeway several weeks ago, I stumbled upon Rocco's while sight-seeing...and I'm so glad I did! I was greeted with smiling faces right away, and the entire experience left me wanting to come back. I love the fact that it's family owned and operated with family recipes. The owners and their daughters came over and checked in on us several times, and made sure everything was up to par. They also serve the best Martini I've ever had. The Pepper Steak was incredible, and finished the evening off with Miles of Chocolate desert, WOW! I honestly can't wait to come back to Lakeway just to eat at Rocco's! My boyfriend and I enjoyed a delicious evening at Rocco's Grill for Valentine's Day and our seven year anniversary. The food was exceptional and the best we have had in Austin after four years of searching. The ambiance was romantic and creative, but the food is what made the evening special. We started with the fried ravioli which was excellent, perfectly crisp and not greasy in the least. I had the Pasta Johnny and my boyfriend had the Pollo Piazza. Both dishes were head and shoulders above any other Italian food I have had in the Austin area. It is apparent that painstaking attention has been given to ingredient choice and preparation technique. We finished with the Miles of Chocolate and the berry creme brulee. For creme brulee lovers, this was a special treat -- crisp on top and a slice of heaven on the cool, creamy bottom. I cannot wait for my next meal at Rocco's Grill, and the 30 minute drive between Lakeway and my South Austin apartment shall not stop me. It is well worth the drive. Delicious Food!! Great atmosphere and love the deck.... especially this time of year! Try the UT Tini and the Pollo Caprino!! Grilled chicken with goat cheese and a butter sauce. It's real good! Rocco's is great!! Such a fun place to go on Thursday nights!! They have an awesome Happy Hour and the bartenders are the best in Austin! My favorite is the bella bacci jalapeno shrimp bacon wraps. They are to die for. I really like the Spicy blue cheese salad with pecans and Salmon. I haven't tried too much on the menu cause once I find something I like I tend to order it over and over, but you can't go wrong with the Lasagna. It is by far the best I have ever tasted! I absolutely love Rocco's. Great atmosphere, the food is always delicious and they have a really friendly staff. My husband and I love getting the shrimp scampi appetizer and the spicy pecan salad!! It's soooo good. It is definitely our favorite restaurant in the area!! It's a must try. more

I live in Lakeway, and believe me, there are few good restaurants to chose from so I have gone back to Rocco's a few times hoping to find something I like, simply to have another option. Their food is very mediocre. I have tried pasta (with overcooked veges), steak with some sort of brown gravy (same overcooked veges on the side), among other things. I don't know how the ratings for this establishment are so high. There are WAY better italian options in Lakeway. Pros: lively Cons: food, service more

As many times as I have been to Rocco's, I am always thrilled to go back! The restaurant is five star in every area, from service to food to atmosphere. The staff are incredibly thorough and attentive while the food and atmosphere compliment each other perfectly. I would recommend anyone to take a quick trip to Lakeway to give Rocco's a try...bon appetit!!! Pros: Most delicious food! Cons: None! more

After checking out the other italian places in Lakeway (and there are plenty), none of the others had such a fun and inviting atmosphere as Roccos. The staff was attentive, personable and enjoyable. The food was plentiful and delicious. You have to sit out on the patio and enjoy the view of the golf course or even try sitting in the wine room for a more private romantic experience. Put Rocco's Grill on the top of your list of restaurants to check out!!! Pros: Amazing food, great wine, fun bar, outstanding patio Cons: they had to close which means I had to leave! more

I love Rocco's will all my heart! It is a great family owned restaurant that has been in the area for almost 10 years now. There is a lot of new restaurants to choose from in Lakeway, but there is no other place as special and delicious as Rocco's! The Tomato Basil Soup is outstanding, The Spicy Pecan Salad with Blue cheese is ridiculously good and I absolutely LOVE the pepper steak marsala! I also like to finish off each meal with the Miles of Chocolate!! It is to die for!! Ask for Amanda to wait on you when you go in... she's exceptional! I give it 5 stars because it deserves 5 stars! more

I have been going to Rocco's since it opened and have literally had hundreds of meals there. I love the bright colors, the fun, whimsical murals, the warmth of the owners, Rockey, Linda, Ani and Ally. I have probably ordered everything on their menu and have never had a bad meal NEVER. They also support the community by periodically having fund raisers there..just last night they had a fashion show that was fabulous and the place was packed. We are so fortunate to have such great place in our community. The family is almost always there and they are always so gracious. It gives you the warm feeling of the ""mom and pop"" run Italian bistro with the red and white checkered table cloth...only this place has elegance and style. Very special.
