I am unable to post this without giving it at least one star. I would give it zero stars. They have lost me as a loyal customer. I had been going to Roberts and Wendt for over 30 ...

My dog will never be the same bc of them 9/30/2011

Our dog went from a very active fun loving dog to disabled for the rest of his life because of the negligence of Robert and Wendt Animal Hospital.\r \r We've been taking our pets to R&W for years. A month ago we took our dog to get examined because he had started limping. Dr.Gadd examined his leg and hip to see where the pain was and told us it was most likely a sprain and possibly a fracture so he gave him an anti-inflamatory and said to come back if he isn't better in a week and a half. We took him in 2 weeks later due to him getting worse. They took 2 xrays to check for a break and he diagnosed our dog with hip dysplasia & gave us tramadol and metacamp and told us he needs rest. So we had our concerns and doubts but made sure he was resting, but last week he wouldn't even put weight on his leg. We called Dr. Wendt to address our concerns about his diagnosis and treatment and were blown off so we got our xrays and took him to West Park Animal Hospital today.\r Right away the doctor examined his spine (which Dr.Gadd never did) in which our dog reacted in pain.. So the doctor looked at the xrays from R&W and saw immediately that a disk in his spine was pinching his nerve.\r Our dog has now lost the use of his entire left hind leg bc it went untreated for so long. If he wouldve been put on Pretnisone 2 weeks ago he wouldve had an 80% chance of his leg being back to normal. Now he only has about 10% chance of it getting better, but the doctor has little hope. All we can do is hope the pretnisone works to take away the swelling thats pinching the nerve to relieve his pain, but his legs completely dead and even if it gets better its already completely atrophied so he'll never use it again. \r more

Love the way he cares for my 'babies' 12/12/2010

I started out seeing Dr. V. Wendt and have since seen all the vets, most often Dr. Donovan. My dogs and cats have gone to Roberts & Wendt for the past 13 years and have always been treated with kindness, gentleness, and care. Over the years we have had to put 2 elderly dogs to sleep (the dogs chose). Both instances were handled with the utmost compassion and kindness to the dog and to my husband and I. My chow chow lived to be 17 and my black lab to be 13. I still have 2 of my 4 and they are doing quite well even though they are older. I'm sorry to see someone has had poor service but perhaps it was due to the circumstances. Granted my dogs are not show dogs nor working dogs; just big ole family members that take up the bed and sofa. ;-) more

Horrible Service, Donovan is incompetent. 10/19/2010

Dr. Donovan is the worst vet I have ever seen. The list goes on and on: He mis-diagnosed my cat with allergies (red spots above the eyes); she was seen by another vet a few days later who said this guy is an idiot becuse she was infested with fleas. He also microchipped my Dog with a chip that could not be read by my dog club that I do obedience competition through. I called to ask if I could borrow their scanner just for a few hours for a trial which required the judge to be able to read the chip number from a scanner. I even offered to put down a full deposit for the scanner. This guy simply would not help me even though he championed this brand of microchip and sold it to me. Moreover, Donovan is not personable at all and sounds as if he got numerous wedgies slung up his backside for being the biggest dork in vet school. I hope a really big Rottweiler rips the pocket protector clean off his tighty whitey ass. more

Amazing, caring staff 9/7/2009

I have relied on Roberts & Wendt for the past 3 years, and take all my pets there. They are very kind, clean, and considerate. I went through a very tough situation involving poor breeders, which led to the death of a past pet, and they went above and beyond their job. I regularly see Dr. Donovan, and would suggest him to any local pet owners. I have nothing but great things to say about this Animal Hospital, and will continue to use their services for many years to come. Pros: reasonable pricing, caring and considerate Cons: none that I have found in 3 years. more

Wonderful wonderful service and staff 8/18/2008

We have been going to Roberts and Wendt for the past 5-6 years. We discovered them on a recommendation from two of our neighbors who had nothing but good things to say about them. We took our older lab mix there for a check up, and unlike our last vet, they handled her without a muzzle and without a problem. She was a friendly dog, who hated going to the vet., but not so much with Dr. Vickie.\r \r We have moved farther away, but find it well worth the extra drive to continue getting such wonderful service. Pros: Staff and overall experince more

Dr. Michalosky is a gifted professional. 6/19/2008

My daughter insisted I take my Persian to Dr. Richard Michalosky, as he is the only vet she trusts implicitly to treat her pets. This man is everything she said and more. He is gentle, kind, and truly empathetic. He followed through on everything he could to diagnose and treat my lovely cat. Realizing there was no hope for recovery, Dr. Michalosky asked that we come to say goodbye. He allowed us time with our cat so we could accept what had to be. He quietly and respectfully helped us and our Persian through the transition. I am so grateful to this wonderful man. He has a gift, and is a great asset to the practice of veterinary medicine. Although I live some distance from the hospital, Dr. Michalosky is now the vet I also trust implicitly. more

Outstanding Vets 2/15/2007

Our family is very please with the service and care our pets receive from Dr. Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital. We have been long time customers and they have seen everything from our reptiles, cats and dogs. Their friendly staff and great team of DVM you can't go wrong. We have recently lost our Lab of 14 years and him being able to live to that ripe old age was from the great care he received from Roberts & Wendt. If you are looking for Vets that care more about your animal than charging you the big buck! give them a try. Pros: Great Staff, Outstanding Vets, Very clean Vet Hospital, Will not break your pocket book Cons: None as of 14 years more

Extremely Knowledgeable 6/26/2006

My poor bunny was having epileptic seizures one after another, and many of the vets I called really didn't have much expertise with bunnies and couldn't be of much help. After plucking this name out of the phone book (I was desperate), they knew what medications to prescribe and how to help her. I'm so grateful they saved my sweet bunny, who is now seizure-free with medications. They are VERY knowledgeable, professional, and caring. more

Best Veternaian in town 6/10/2006

My family has been clients at Roberts and Wendts animal hospital for over 50 years and we have never come across such a dedicated Veterinarian until we met Dr. Richard Michalosky. He has been there for us through the bad, offering complete support and the good, always making our visits pleasant. We are never rushed and our pets are not just treated as clients but friends. If there were a Veterinarian of the year award my vote would be for Dr. Richard Michalosky DVM. more

The Best Veterinarian I've EVER Taken my Pet to 2/6/2006

I recently had to take my pet to the vets office to be euthanized. I called Roberts and Wendt Animal Hospital, Inc. and they got me in right way without an appointment. I met with Dr. Richard A. Michalosky. I was very upset about the whole ordeal, but Dr. Michalosky made the process very easy on me and my pet. He was very compassionate and understanding. He euthanized my pet in a very humane manner and while the setative was kicking in he actually stayed in the room approximately 15 minutes and pet my animal. He explained the whole procedure to me and actually let me stay with my animal during her last few moments. I HIGHLY recommend this vet clinic and Dr. Richard A. Michalosky. He is a vet that is in it for the love of animals, not money! Pros: Inexpensive, Not Crowded, Amazing Service more

Great place that cares, little higher in price. 9/14/2005

While I believe there are some things you can't put a price on, a simple check up is not one. This place really does care and their staff is very knowledgeable, the vets are very caring. We just found their prices to be too high compared to others in the area. more

They care about your pets 5/23/2005

My Mom and I have both have taken our pets to Roberts & Wendt Animal Hospital and they really treat your pets well. I had to leave my kitten there one time and they took really good care of him for me. They really care about animals and that means a lot to a devoted pet owner. I highly recommend them. more
