Robert Lucas Salon

I just visited Robert Lucas for the first time recently and felt compelled to share my experience, because it was so positive. First, as a new client, Robert himself made a point to reach back out to me to understand my current hair concerns and my vision for what I was seeking. I travel in and out of the City and so he accommodated my schedule by conducting this consultation by phone. Following the consultation was my actual first appointment. Robert took the time again at that session, in person, to hear (he listened!) my thoughts and offer his suggestions. And he completely delivered. My hair was a mess and he turned it into something beautiful. I have dark hair naturally and always try to achieve light highlights and it just never works out; my hair always ends up looking orange, brassy, red, too blonde, etc. Robert completely amazed me with what he did - the result was a natural brown with brown accents with no warm tones. Perfect. I am so used to feeling disappointed when I leave a hair salon that I was in a bit of shock I think about how good my hair actually looked. He truly is a color artist and knows exactly how to leverage products to achieve his clients' vision. A master of his craft, clearly. Robert Lucas is a must for any one but particularly if you have problem hair like mine. Robert Lucas is an artist. \r \r When he colors or cuts hair it is with artistic intention to make his clients look their best . His work reflects fashion and current trends.\r \r I have had my hair styled by Robert since he was nineteen. He is a natural talent that makes him a ""cut"" above the rest. As I left my cut/color appointment last week, I told Robert that I always feel incredibly pretty when I leave his salon. \r \r Robert has been styling my hair for over 30 years and I can honestly say I have never been disappointed in my cut. I trust him completely, including his suggestions for a change in look. On occasion I'll suggest a new style. If he disagrees, he'll explain why he thinks it won't work for me. If he agrees, he adjusts it so that it suits me ""to a T."" That includes giving me a cut that fits my home-hairstyling skills (limited) and my time allotment (5 minutes, tops). He also colors my hair now and the look is so natural that you wouldn't know it was colored. \r \r His staff are also the best - - highly skilled, very professional and extremely nice. The Brazilian Keratin Treatment, ?BKT? that I have had at Robert Lucas Salon has been truly life altering for me. I have been fighting curly, frizzy hair for a lifetime and that battle is over. I can now wash my hair and let it dry naturally and it looks like I had my hair professionally blown out. This summer there was a great deal of humidity and it had no effect on my straight hair. I no longer have to limit my working out so that I don?t sweat too much and ruin a blow out or plan for a blow out prior to each and every event. I can have great hair all the time without the time or expense of going to the salon. In the past I tried so many different products and procedures including the Japanese straightening at another salon that totally destroyed my hair. I am done searching; the ?BKT? is a miracle product for curly hair. It is a bit pricey, but if you factor in not having to get a blow out for special occasions, the expense does not seem so great. Truly, I believe the product is priceless!!! I have been going to Robert for over 15 years. He is absolutley the BEST hair stylist and colorist in the nation! What makes him unique is that he instinctively knows what will work for you and what won't. He has a gift of creating a cut and color that compliments your complexion and overall lifestyle. I get compliments all the time on my hair. Everyone asks who did it and that to me is the greatest compliment! The atmosphere in the salon is professional and very comfortable. No one can give my mousy brown hair highlites or color like Robert. and noone can cut it like he does. Or style it. sure,.I have to take out a small loan to pay him,.but it's worth it. I have been getting my hair colored and cut by Robert for almost two years now. Trust me when I tell you, he is the BEST! Through his knowledge and experience, he has made me love my natural red hair again. He will bring out the best in your hair and skin tone. Not only does he have his hands full with my color, I have abnormally thick hair and the cut he gives is like no other. Unfortunately, I may be relocating for my job and the one thing that scares me the most is being over 1,000 miles away from Robert! I cannot tell you how amazing Robert Lucas is at his trade. I recently dyed my naturally very blonde hair to a chestnut brown, and wanted to take it back to its blonde beginnings. I knew I needed an expert to get it right (because I'm extremely picky with my hair...especially with blonde hair). I googled ""best chicago hair colorist"" and Robert's salon came up. After reading all of the reviews, I knew I wanted to check him out. After speaking to the receptionist, Robert himself called to talk to me about what exactly it was that I wanted to do with my hair. He made me feel very comfortable, as well as made me feel confident he could get the job done and do it well. GREAT customer service! Once the day of my appt. came Robert ended up having to spend extra time on me because I had more hair than expected. When the final result was revealed, I couldn't have been more pleased. It looked so natural and beautiful...and there was absolutely nothing natural about it! YOU MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH HIM! He's simply the best. And his assistants are the sweetest, most down-to-earth people ever. Be prepared to wait a little bit to get in with him, but perfection takes time. He's well worth every penny and worth the wait.
