Ahhhh.... heaven 9/20/2005

My sister and I spent a weeknight here a few weeks back for massages and relaxation. You arrive early and the building is split into two - a salon and shopping area and the spa. We went to the spa. You enter through the doors and are met with comfy chairs and a fireplace. We checked in and filled out some paperwork. The pleasant hostess took us to the changing area and room with a sauna. They provide a robe, spa shoes, and a personal locker for every guest. We then went into their relaxation room to wait for our masseuses to come get us. The room is dimly lit with candles and is decorated to resemble Tuscany; complete with a full mural on one wall. There are complimentary beverages with water and teas. The massage therapists both of us had for our full-body massages were very professional and I came out feeling uber-relaxed, which is hard to say when you are trying to write your grad school thesis! The prices might be a little higher than other "spas", but for the atmosphere and treatments, I'd go back again in an instant! more

A good place to be pampered 8/26/2005

Since I discovered Robert Andrew a couple of years ago I've been there on many occasions and for a wide variety of services and I've never been disappointed. At Robert Andrew I always feel like I'm getting the VIP treatment. Manicures and pedicures are excellent, waxing is done in private rooms with soft lighting and soothing music, and I wouldn't go anywhere else to get my hair cut and styled. All around a very professional and relaxing atmosphere. more

Expensive, but nice experience 8/26/2005

Robert Andrew is in a huge shopping complex, so it's a little weird in that you walk past the Atlanta Bread Company and boom you're at the spa. Once you walk through the door though, the ambiance is really nice. I had a haircut and a pedicure scheduled, but changed the pedi to a manicure the morning of and they were really nice and accomodating. There are four sections to the spa- a makeup area (sales and demonstrations, or if you want to get your makeup done for a wedding or something); the hair salon; the nail salon; and a full day spa that's behind closed doors. They let me in very briefly to check it out and it looked really nice. I had my haircut first. The stylist was nice and listened to what I wanted and went to work. At the end she blew my hair out, and was really rough with my hair- I've never had a stylist tug like that before. It was like she was working on my next set of split ends before I left the chair! :) But it did end up looking OK, so it was fine. The cut was nice, but not *that* much nicer than what I usually get for half the price. I had to wait a while for the manicure, which was probaby my own fault for rescheduling. The nail area is nice and there were lots of magazines, so I didn't mind. The manicurist was great and we had a good time chatting while she did my nails. Overall it was a very good experience. It was much more than what I usually spend on my hair (and I never get my nails done), but it was a gift, so I came out very happy! more
