Robert Andrew is in a huge shopping complex, so it's a little weird in that you walk past the Atlanta Bread Company and boom you're at the spa. Once you walk through the door though, the ambiance is really nice. I had a haircut and a pedicure scheduled, but changed the pedi to a manicure the morning of and they were really nice and accomodating. There are four sections to the spa- a makeup area (sales and demonstrations, or if you want to get your makeup done for a wedding or something); the hair salon; the nail salon; and a full day spa that's behind closed doors. They let me in very briefly to check it out and it looked really nice.
I had my haircut first. The stylist was nice and listened to what I wanted and went to work. At the end she blew my hair out, and was really rough with my hair- I've never had a stylist tug like that before. It was like she was working on my next set of split ends before I left the chair! :) But it did end up looking OK, so it was fine. The cut was nice, but not *that* much nicer than what I usually get for half the price.
I had to wait a while for the manicure, which was probaby my own fault for rescheduling. The nail area is nice and there were lots of magazines, so I didn't mind. The manicurist was great and we had a good time chatting while she did my nails.
Overall it was a very good experience. It was much more than what I usually spend on my hair (and I never get my nails done), but it was a gift, so I came out very happy!
