Best

We had a delightful Sunday brunch in July and decided to return for dinner in September. The food was excellent, as was the ambiance. Highly recommend!

Worst

Beautiful setting and grounds. The food was good but not great. Our big evening out was almost ruined by a service staff that prety much ignored us and required us on several occa...

Fairy Tale Setting, Fantastic Service! 1/29/2011

My recent wedding at the Riverview was an incredible success. The location was breathtaking, and thanks to the glorious trees, fountains, waterfall, and extensive grounds, my photos are gorgeous. The staff was friendly and very attentive, and my guests still comment on how amazing the food was. The staff did practically EVERYTHING for us, and made such a huge occasion relatively stress-free, which is unheard of for weddings!. I would recommend this venue to any bride-to-be in a heartbeat! more

IF I COULD RATE A ZERO FOR SERVICE I WOULD 1/24/2011

After thinking I had a location to have my wedding reception, because i was told by both the manager and the event planner that my date was available, over a 3 week time period of me contacting them, not them contacting me as I was told would be the case, and not getting any notification personally that it had changed, you could imagine my surprise that an email sent to my matron of honor said it was not available after all. I immediately called and was told that there was miscommunication on their part and there was nothing they could do. Thank you for allowing my matron of honor to waste 4 hours of her day, and your personal touch. NEVER WILL I PATRON YOUR RESTAURANT, NOR ANY OF MY FRIENDS OR FAMILY. ATROCIOUS SERVICE AND DISSERVICE TO AN EXCITED BRIDE! more

Average Food, terrible service 6/23/2010

We were here for a birthday celebration. There were 7 of us, not a huge party. From the time we sat down to the time we left was 3 1/2 hours! It took so long to get our check, we actually discussed just leaving without paying (we did not). The food was average except for the calamari, which was the best I have ever had. The drinks were overpriced and poorly made. Food and drinks were brought to us piecemeal. One memeber of our party did not get his drink until 15 minutes after we received ours. No exaggeration...15 minutes he sat there with nothing, while the rest of the table had all been served. We would finish our course and literally be waiting for our next course for up to 30 minutes. Terrible! When our next course would come, we still had dirty dishes from the previous course sitting in front of us. We needed to stack our own dishes in the middle of the table to make room for the arriving entree, and then after we were served the server would take our ""stack"" of dishes. We observed smaller tables of two being served at a much faster rate, but 7 guests at a table is not extreme. This restaurant has such awesome potential with its location, it is a pity that they need a lesson in how to take care of their clientele. Total disappointment. Pros: Excellent Calamari, great atmosphere Cons: S-L-O-W Service more

Delightful Experience- Highly Recommended 6/5/2010

At Riverview the view is lovely and the ambiance superb! We started with the Calamari which is breaded in short succulent strips, quite tastey with or without the sauce & was Not rubbery. We ordered the Seafood Tower & Smoked Salmon Angelo as entrees. Both were beautifully presented and excellent in flavor. To finish it all off we shared Lava cake with berry sauce, very rich & indulgent, and had Bananas Foster prepared table side. Fun presentation and highly recommended! Overall a delightful experience from start to finish. Pros: Scenery, Ambiance, Service, Presentation, Flavor more

What a lovely place 5/7/2010

My husband took me here for my birthday, it was beautiful. First I have to say the staff really worked together and supported each other. They had an unexpected busy evening and we would not have known if we didnt compliment how nice it was to be treated so well by everyone. We started with the crab cakes and a spinach salad. Both were wonderful. I am very picky about spinach salads and it was different than I have ever had, I loved it. My husband had the chicken dish that was tdf! Marsei or marsalla?? I had the steak. It was cooked perfectly but I will probably try the hazelnut halibut or the seafood stack next time. I may be too used to our organic meat, the flavor was just not over the top. But it was cooked medium rare, exactly what I wanted. Tuesday our server (she is as cute as her name) said they have excellent happy hour specials so we are going to try that. I cant wait to sit on that lovely deck over the Sandy river having romantic cocktails and being pampered! Pros: beautiful views Piano exceptional service Very reasonable $$ Cons: I hope it survives this economy it would be a real shame more

Serene and fabulous ambiance 12/14/2009

it was the most memorable and wonderful dining experience my wife and i have experienced. We have attended the Wine dinner (second Wednesday every month) three times now. It's a Win - Win 9/8/2009

How to describe the Riverview Restaurant, ""It's a gorgeously landscaped setting with grand service providing magnificent food and drink. A special place for making a memorable event - anytime!."" Recently we had the pleasure of attending two of the Winemaker's Dinners at the Riverview - a monthly affair which offers a special five-course dinner and each course is paired with local wine from the featured winery - it's a fabulous combination (and an excellent value too). Plan to visit the Riverview - go for the splendid food and drink selection (arrive early for a wine flight in the lounge or on the patio overlooking the river) and stay for the lovely surroundings. It's a win - win !! Pros: Gorgeous landscape, fabulous pairing of food & drink Cons: Too far from Beaverton more

Unique dining experience to enjoy and explore again & again 9/8/2009

It really is a unique dining experience like no other! We have enjoyed it many times now and in many different ways. But every time it feels Special. The food is always so delicious with many new and surprising tastes. It's definitely high-end but at surprisingly reasonable prices. The service is friendly - no stiffness. The restaurant itself is beautiful - spacious, modern, lots of wood and lots of glass bringing the outside in. Intriguing fine art thru out and live music really sets the mood. But there's still more because this ""gem"" is in an equally beautiful setting: Just off the Historic Columbia Highway and the West end of the Columbia Gorge, the Riverview sits along the river amongst towering trees. (The bar was made from one of the trees that couldn't be saved.) It has a huge deck and patio for outdoor dining with nice lighting for after dark and heaters so can keep enjoying even if the temperature drops. It really makes you feel like you are ""far away from it all"" but actually it is very close. There's also beautiful gardens - we attended a wedding there just recently. Gorgeous! And the food afterwards was so much better than the usual wedding fare! We have now hosted many different events there ourselves. And we will continue to do so. For family events and for business - It's ideal for dinners with clients and for company events. Our out-of-town guests now contact us before their next visit to let us know they'd like to go to the Riverview again! Pros: Consistantly great food, service in unique beautiful setting more
