I go here at least once a month to practice my shooting & to fill my need for GSR. The people are great & you can't beat the cost of a range position $10 ! They have ammo, targets & pistol rentals all you need is money & your FOID card to complete your stay. When you're done shooting it's time to go shopping great selection of holsters, range bags & soft pistol bags. If you need a FFL drop for a web buy.... ask for their fee, lower than most others. I visited the shop on Saturday Oct. 1 to do a repeat purchase of a Colt product. Only two employees were on duty and they were verbally exchanging expletives to each other about being the only employees working on this particular Saturday. First off, extremely unprofessional to hear these employees making the kinds of comments they were to each other about work conditions. Second, when it came my turn to inquire about a Colt LE6920 (from Colt Defense, not that Sporter crap that Colt is pushing) and whether or not I could look at one of their catalogs (as I did several months back during a previous purchase), all they could do was say they did not have any other catalogs. No further effort was put forth that may have ultimately generated a 1300 - 1500 hundred dollar sale! Amazing lack of concern for the client. I will ge going back to G.A.T. guns up in Dundee for my next purchase. more

People are very helpful and the prices are the best around. The only issue I have is that I went to trade in a gun vs. a purchase and the two guys (very nice btw) were not able to make that decision because they were junior clerks or whatever. Nonetheless, nice people. Good range. more

When I first walked into the Gun Shop, the folks behind the counter were busy with customers but in less than a minute I had couple of employees greet me. They informed me that they will be with me as soon as they are done with their customer. Sure enough I was next in line. We had a good chat about the Range the guns they rent and sell. The accessories. I already had a Ruger LCP and now they convinced me on a Ruger SR9c. I am overall very pleased with their service and prices. Yes the range is dark and not well ventilated but that is fine. Keep up the good work guys. more

I have been going here and buying here for 25 years. The main thing you'll get here that you won't get anywhere else is the people. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable all. Prices are good attitude is excellent. If you don't see it, ask. There's a good chance they can get it for you. When you look at prices, remember internet and catalog items have to have postage paid, usually. Rink's competes very favorably. They also are small enough to care about each customer, and to send the ones who can't act civil out the door. The range is a little dark, but it's better to practice in less than optimum conditions. In real life, conditions are rarely optimum. They have an air cleaning system to help protect against airborne lead. If you are new to shooting, let them know. They will help fill your needs. more

Been to Rinks several times. They have the best prices around. Bis selection considering its a small shop. Range is dark but that is what I want to practice in. Very fair prices. If they do not have what you want just ask they can get most anything for you on order.I will be back soo. more

Hey, let's be honest, Rink's isn't necessarily beautiful, but how fancy a place do you need to shoot? The price can't be beat, most places are twice as much. The staff was very pleasant and the one guy was downright hilarious. My brother won't buy a gun because his wife doesn't want one in the house and the guy told him "Marriage and love will last a lifetime, but a gun lasts for generations- these are handed down!" Overall besides being a little dim the range was just fine, I can't complain. They also have very reasonable prices on ammo/cleaning supplies and give you a free range use if you buy a gun from them. I'll be back! more

Had a great time at Rinks. The staff is very informative and helpful. I recommend going there and bring a friend interested in target shooting. They sill have plenty of ammo for your shooting pleasure. The price for the target range is lowest I have found unless you shoot outdoors. more

Gun Range\r \r i have been to rink's gun & sport several times. i like using their firing range to practice shooting my handguns. the range fee is very reasonable at $9.\r the staff is friendly and helpful. i enjoy the small but personable atmosphere. more

The folks at Rink's are going to give you good service, like you used to get everywhere before our country went down the corporate road. If you want old time friendly service from very knowledgeable gun experts who'll make you feel at home, go to Rink's.\r All they need to do is upgrade the shooting range, but with our economic climate in Illinois, I can understand why they've held back on that. more

I've been there and bought two guns. They never gave be any dirty looks for the many questions that I've asked. I'm absolutely certain with no doubt- that you'll be satisfied with your visit. \r \r One gun- a CZ-83, jammed up a lot when I bought it- new. \r \r I brought it back one day, sadly, and asked what I'm supposed to do (with some frustration.) \r \r The big guy with the glasses politefully asked if he could shoot off a few rounds to check it out- so I said, 'yes.'\r \r It only jammed a couple of times and he turned around with a serious professional look on his face and told me honestly, that it was new, and I should wait untill a couple hundred rounds more were fired throught it, and that by then, it should be good, and if not- he'd send it back to CZ and have it fixed.\r \r He was entirely correct. \r \r With that said, I'd suggest this shop above all others. It's not the biggest, but it will have what you need.\r \r It doesn't have the biggest selection- but definately a wide variety to b more

They would not sell to the girl because it looked like a straw purchase. The government requires the seller not to sell to someone if they think they are buying a gun for someone else. She was talking to her boyfriend, they thought he might be guiding her through the purchase for him or someone else. If that was me , i wouldnt risk my lic. either. Complain to the government for putting these unrealistic requirements on the gun seller. One more thing, i am not afraid to put my name here like you are. more

I would never buy anything or set foot in RINKS,My Girlfriend went in to buy a gun and was talking to me on the cell phone,she filled out form to make purchase and then was told they could not sell her gun because they were not comfortable with her on the phone. more

Rinks is a small, family owned gun shop that has been in business for YEARS. They have a HUGE selection of used firearms, which is always changing, and are all reasonably priced. One of my favorite features about Rinks is that you can try out any firearm before you buy, right in their range attached to the building. While their range is not my favorite (too dimly lit), their staff is top notch, selection is the best, and they always come close on the best price. more
