Editorial review from Citysearch 2/23/2014

Most employees are nice but customer service is interesting and service is expensive. It took 3 tries to have the correct part ordered for a SRAM XX component. You would think a ""top tier"" bike shop would be more competent. After they ordered the wrong part for the second time I left my bike asking them to put the part on if they were lucky enough to get it right on the 3rd try and they charged me an additional $25 for installation. Amazing! I miss the LBS's I was able to frequent other places I have lived where employees were friendly, knowledgeable and competent and prices were realistic. more

All in all a great place 6/1/2012

All in all great place. It took us a bit but we finally found some great people at Richardson Bike Mart and they have been awesome. Anne in the appareal section has been great with helping my son start his racing career and they have all been a great group of people to work with. more

Horrible Customer Service 10/28/2010

I was surprised to receive such terrible customer service at such a large store. I would rather save money and buy the same bike online for a good 20% discount plus another 8% savings in sales tax rather than be treated as if my business is not needed or important. more

Very poor customer service 1/8/2010

Unfortunately, I have to rate this local bike store as VERY poor. I have given them my business for the last six months (since I got into cycling) but will do so no longer. I recently tried to return a part that had been special ordered. I didn't actually approve that it BE special ordered (just thought it was out of stock) but when I tried to return it, I was told they could not take it back. I asked to speak to a manager to state my case. The owner was actually there (John). I tried to reason that I would be spending the return in the store in store credit and that it was not worth losing a customer over. John said: ""You're not a customer, you're a returning customer"", insinuating that he had looked at my buying history before coming to talk to me and that I buy and return too often to be considered a GOOD customer. While I have returned a couple of items (who hasn't), I've spent FAR more in there. John then said (and he's the owner mind you) ""You're not welcome in this store."" I was blown away. Clearly Richardson Bike Mart is only concerned with your dollar and not you. Well, John, I can assure you, I won't BE back. Fortunately, in Dallas, there are MANY other choices for good Local Bike Stores. I'd recommend PLANO CYCLING & FITNESS INC. if anyone reading this wants to have a PLEASANT buying experience. Richardson Bike Mart would rather you simply leave your money on the counter and be on your way. Pros: Local Cons: Horrible Customer regard more

Best Bike Store in DFW 11/3/2003

They have two big sales every year--April and August. Huge inventory. They do not carry some noted brands such as Cannondale, Giant, Santa Cruz, or Ellsworth but they pretty much stock all others--Trek, Fisher, Klein, Litespeed, Seven, Rocky Mountain, Specialized, et al. Justin Jackson is great. Friendly service. Can be extremely hectic on weekends. Pros: Individual service, Support more
