Ricardos Mexican Restaurant

We have been driving to Ricardo's from McAlester since 1976. Now that we live in Tulsa, we eat there every Friday night. Additionally, we meet other couples there who have been eating there every Friday night as well.... for years.\r \r (Everyone does have different tastes in their Mexican foods (that is why there are hundreds in Tulsa alone.)\r \r We love Ricardo's warm chips, enchiladas, tacos, tamales .... and think their chili rellenos are the BEST EVER! \r \r Regrettably, neither one of us is able to eat really hot spicy sauces any more. Ricardo's sauces are not hot at all. In fact, we would prefer to have more than one selection of sauces in order to get some more spice. \r \r That would be our recommendation.... #1: add an additional sauce to add more spice!!!\r \r Other than that ..... we've enjoyed going there for decades! more

My family and I just went to Ricardo's for the first time last night! Save your money, it is a joke. Their chips taste like Tostitios, their salsa like pace picante and their sour cream sauce for the chicken enchiladas is a blob of sour cream on the side. I could have made this meal with a four year old. Their cheese on the enchiladas and soft cheese taco was just melted with absolutely no spice or flavor. We were in shock the entire time we were eating. The only good thing I would have to say is that our waiter was wonderful and was constantly filling our drink glasses and was very fast. This place should not be where the locals go, I couldn't believe they have been in business for as long as they have! It's crazy! Pros: Good Service Cons: Terrible, Unoriginal food! more

The food tastes so good at Ricardo's. The prices are in the medium range, and the serving portions are average. They bring out all the chips and salsa you want before the meal. The chips & salsa taste great- served warm too. The meals come out hot and fresh. The service is good. The waitress is always right on time. more

I love the burritos and enchiladas at Ricardo's. The chips and salsa taste better than other places. They are served warm, just the right amount of salt, and no grease. The margaritas and sangria swirl are awesome. more
