Best

This is the best Italian restaurant in town. While eating dessert, I died and went to canoli heaven .

Worst

I LOVE italian food and have eaten in many restaurants. We've just moved to the Phoenix area and I was excited about going to Riazzi's because they have received nice reviews and...

Best Italian food in the valley!! 5/19/2006

I've tried everything on the menu and it's all wonderful... the pizza, shrimp scampi and eggplant parmigiana are top favorites...always great service. If you're looking for authentic italian food in a cozy, romantic atmosphere or want to take a group of out of town guests... definitely head to Riazzi's!! Pros: Great Service, Reasonably Priced, Always great food more

Great food, but service has gone downhill... 2/6/2006

I don't understand the reviews that say 'yes' for prompt seating. Are you kidding? I've been going to this place for 10 years. The food has always been sensational. The prices have gone up a bit, but they're still reasonable. However, the most marked decline has been the service. The wait staff continues to be pretty good, but the hostesses are always anti-social at best and their seating methods are highly suspect. Getting a table takes near an hour even if you call ahead. And every time I go, I sit and watch as people who arrived much later are seated more promptly (even when they say they didn't call ahead). I suspect that the hostesses have been told to seat larger parties first and make the smaller ones wait until the smallest tables are available. Pros: fantastic food, good wait staff Cons: hosts/hostesses, long wait for table more

Best little known secret of Phoenix 6/3/2005

Riazzis has been a favorite family dining destination for several generations. Their pizza is out of this world and should be considered for the Best of Phoenix. I sold fresh produce to Lucy Riazzi back in the 80s and I will testify that Riazzis is just as particular about the product coming into the restaraunt as they are with what they serve. The secret to success is to have consistancy in a product regardless if it's great good or poor. Their product is great and consistant. They harvest the entire year supply of tomatoes from the same farm when the crop has reached the perfect ripeness and acidity. The Riazzi sauce is started very early in the morning for the evening meal and what is left over is served for lunch the next day. No sauce before it's time! Outstanding! Pros: Affordable, Friendly, Take out Cons: Parking more

the pie man 5/8/2004

the riazzi's family have been making the best italian food for over 50 years.the pizzia is next best thing to real chicago pizzia, even if it is NYstyle pie more

Now THAT's Italian!!! 12/6/2002

This is the best and most authentic Italian restaurant I've found in the Phoenix area. The homemade Italian sausage is to die for (but make sure you've got some antacids). The pizza is the real thing I grew up with in the Northeast and the homemade spumoni is the perfect way to finish off your meal....if you have room left for it, that is.... Pros: Authentic, Friendly, Big portions Cons: Dieter's Waterloo more

Manifica 8/22/2002

The schrimp scampi is to die for!! I can't wait to return. more

Delicioso!!! 8/22/2002

Riazzi's Italian Garden is my all-time favorite Italian Restaurant. I have tried many of their dishes, including the Chicken Cacciatore, Eggplant Parmesan, Orange Roughy, Spaghetti with both their marinara and meat sauces, and pizzas, which are to die for. You can order them on thick or thin crust with toppings of your own choosing, or select from the ones on the menu. They serve an incredible soft Italian bread with a hard crust, and you can request olive oil with garlic to dip it in, at no charge for either the bread or oil. The food is consistently good, and in all the times I have eaten there with family and friends, I have never heard one complaint. Whatever you order, I guarantee you will be 100% satisfied -- bon appetit! Pros: Good value, Good wine selection, Nonsmoking restaurant more

A little bit of Italy in Tempe 8/14/2002

Forget the concept of chain-related Italian joints. This is the real thing. The decor is warm and inviting, the food is operatic. And the prices are surprisingly reasonable, given the posh setting. A family run restaurant, Riazzi's has something for everyone. Pros: authetic Italian fare, heart of Tempe Cons: Seating time more
