We were excited about having a restaurant nearby with pho. We were disappointed because it didn't taste anything like pho. It tasted very oily. The beef was fine, but the soup wasn't edible. more

Misled by the 5-star ratings 12/7/2009

After reading the positive reviews I had high hopes for Reuan Thai. After trying the restaurant for myself I'm starting to doubt that everything said on the internet is true. I can't recommend dining in because the service was lacking, the dining room is noticeably drafty and the table was dirty and sticky. Our server was young and possibly inexperienced–not her fault–but over the course of my meal hot tea was politely requested and verbally confirmed three separate times. The tea never did arrive. The entire front-of-house staff seemed young for a Saturday night. I cannot recommend the take-out approach either as the food was average Thai at best. My Pad Thai was out of balance with overwhelming sweetness and a shrimp curry dish was shoulder-shruggingly ordinary. In my opinion Reuan Thai was about what I would expect based solely on curb appeal, but fell disappointingly short of the gem online reviews portray it to be. Pros: I live near Osseo Cons: Doesnt live up to the online reputation more

Some of the best Thai in the Twin Cities 11/7/2009

We first learned about Reuan Thai through Citysearch but have never provided a review. If you want the freshest, most authentic Thai food in town and don't want to pay a lot, this is the place to come. The restaurant isn't the prettiest place on earth but the nearest place to get more authentic Thai food at this price is a street-corner restaurant in Thailand! Pros: Fresh, delicious food Cons: None, really more

Best Spring Rolls in the Twin Cities!! 8/10/2009

It is the simply the best Thai in town with out a doubt. If you like Sawadtee, A Taste of Thailand or comparable restaurants, you will love this place. My mother in law told me how great this place was, and I was skeptical at first. When I went there I was very pleased. The spring rolls are amazing. more

Osseo's best kept secret Thai food spot 11/15/2008

The chicken pad thai is a savory, fragrant blend that beckons from the sidewalk. The eggrolls are crisp and flavorful. The duck/fish sauce accompanying eggrolls is suprisingly sweet with a tangy after pop. Excellent food for incredibly low price. Reuan Thai is a surprising find in downtown Osseo. Once you find it you will be back again and again. The ambiance is rather cave-like and dimly lit but it adds to the experience. Pros: Food, cost and excellent service Cons: Ambiance is a bit daunting more

Great Thai Food 10/10/2008

My husband and I love this place. The food is always steaming hot and very fresh. The egg rolls are the best I've ever had and the Pad Thai is excellent. The atmosphere is a little lacking but with the food at these prices I could care less. Service is always good as well and the buffet is good. Pros: good food at good prices Cons: atmopshere more

REUAN THAI RESTURANT 5/4/2007

My husband and I love, love, love this place. Our favorite Thai food place was sold and they no longer have Pad Thai-our fave. We tried this one Saturday at noon and knew immediately that we had found a gold mine. It is a typical litlle Thai resturant with wonderful servers and the best Thai food around. Everything we have tasted has been delicious. Pros: Excellant food and great selections Cons: ambience more

The worst pad thai! 3/31/2007

Ugh, this place was gross. We were the only customers in the entire restaurant so I think that should have been our first clue. I ordered the chicken pad thai and my husband had the chicken fried rice. Both of us had to pick the chicken out because it was so tough and chewy. After a minute of chewing it to death, I finally just put it into a napkin. Seriously, this place was not good. I think I may have had 4 or 5 bites of my dinner tonight and was just so disgusted, I pushed it aside. The noodles were also very chewy and very bland. The manager refused to take it off the bill, so we ended up paying $30 for food we barely touched. I would never go back here again. Pros: the wait staff Cons: everything from the ambience to the food more

Best Thai 10/22/2006

Best Thai Food in the area 7/13/2006

You know what I love? When you find amazing food where you least expect it.\r \r My boyfriend and I went to eat at this little Thai food place in downtown Osseo today, specifically Reuan Thai. This is a small town. Like, one stoplight small town. One little business strip small. It's cute in that way so many Midwestern small towns are cute...lots of flowers, a little park, a diner, and, oddly enough, a Thai restaurant. We go in, and it's small but clean, a good sign. The smell is rich and authentic, a mixture of grease and spices. Theres a buffet set up at the back, and about three other people in the place. We decided to chance it, and picked a booth. There were plenty of them, considering the fact that it was for all intents and purposes empty.\r \r We grabbed our plates and started to fill them up. I chose the white rice with the chicken curry and vegetables, with a side of a chicken wing for kicks. Jeff tried everything available, which, while not overwhelming, was still a decent assortment. We sat down and started to eat.\r \r And much to our amazement, the food wasincredible. Delicious. The chicken curry was spicy and tender and flavorful with a smooth creamy finish. The rice was perfect. The chicken wings were sweet, yielding with a crunch, fried to perfection. Divine. I just cannot say enough about this place. And to find it in downtown Osseo made it an even bigger treat. A true gem in the most unexpected place. Pros: Amazing food Cons: If you're looking for crystal and candlelight, this isn't your place more

Great place for short budgets 2/19/2006

This is likely my favorite restaurant in the county. Most of my friends agree that the food is great and we all agree that it isn't very appealing to the eye. The service is very good, everyone is nice and readily available if you need help with something. For those not used to uncommon Asian food I'd suggest #68, the BoBo Plate. Sweet and Sour Chicken with rice and plenty of appetizers, all for just under $9 (And I do meanly just under, go there with $9 and you'll leave with a nickle.). I'm not very experimental with food but this place is incredible. Pros: Great food, Affordable Prices, Nice Service Cons: Poor Location, Poor Ambience more

Excellent Thai and Friendly Service 12/1/2005

Wasn't expecting much from this place either because I was convinced that decent Asian fare could only be found in more areas, or at minimum, in or near the downtowns. I was wrong - it is my favorite Thai place. Always fresh (shrimp not rubbery, duck curry phenomenal), the Spring Rolls rock, and they are the only place that will give you whole FRESH thai peppers to eat with your meal! They do what it takes to help you enjoy your meal and are very good at making things as you request them -- low oil, extra spicy, you name it, they try to do it. Staff is young, and some provide more seamless service than others, but are friendly and attentive. I can only think of one young man that looks a little blanker than the others, but it's probably an age and maturity thing. Never encountered any rudeness. Pros: fresh and clean, accomodating, attentive Cons: not downtown (con?), plain decor more

Best Thai in the suburbs 11/25/2003

Actually this might be the best Thai in the entire metro area, but I guess I haven't tried every single one out there... Anyway, Reuan Thai in Osseo is absolutely top notch, as far as the food goes. Sure the ambiance is a little lacking, but this place is certainly not a hole in the wall, as a previous reviewer said. It's pleasant inside, with a family-owned atmosphere. And it is actually family owned and operated. Food is amazing here! Any of the noodle dishes are choice, as are the seafood dishes, like the fried fish and the shrimp, squid and scallops stirfry. Chicken wings, both the stuffed and the spicy ones, are to die for. I love Reuan Thai! It's worth the drive for good Thai. Pros: Mouthwatering food, Not crowded, Great value Cons: Out of the way more

a gem! 10/3/2002

I was expecting mediocre food at this unsuspecting little spot, but was pleasantly surprised! The spring rolls were evenly filled out and fresh, just the way I like them, and the pad see yew was probably the best I've had around the TC Metro. Wonderful flavor, not too greasy. The fried rice hit the spot, with just the right blend of seasonings and tasty veggies and meat. What this place lacks in atmosphere it makes up for in flavor. Pros: inexpensive, not busy Cons: not much ambience! more

It is just a hole in the wall. 9/25/2002

Well, I strucked out again. I have tried their foods. I should be smart enough to believe a couple of peoples who never have Thai food in Thailand ever. The Pahd Thai and the curries I orderrf was no way tasted like any I have while I was on my vacation this summer. I was truly disappointed. Can someone tell me where is the real Thai food? more
