My husband and I went in to this company all because there was an ad in the paper for a property that I was interesed in and we totally got JIPPED! We were under the impression that there would be houses that we could see and could actually go and look at. Basically we were under the impression that this company would make searching for a rental property 10 times easier. In all actuality all they did was STEAL $59.00 from us. I wish there was some way that this company could be put out of business for good. I really can't beileve that they are allowed to continue putting ad's in the paper. This is a total rip off no matter what they say and hopefully one day they will be stopped. more

I have used Rent Max a few times i the last couple of years. I think I have found a home from them all of those times except one. It definitely beats scouring papers, driving the neighborhoods, etc looking for places for rent. A lot of the places I have seen from Rent Max are dumpy, but a lot of them weren't. I'd say it's about 50/50. And you can use them the next time you move, as long as it's within a year, and you still have your reciept. Pros: many many listings Cons: costs money more

First of all, I paid extra for the online service so that I could see pictures. There are no pictures. The link you to google maps and you can see the area but you don't know which house to look at. That doesn't really matter though because all the areas I looked at had trashy houses. Second, they charge extra for EVERYTHING!! If you want to change the area or specifics of what you're looking for it's extra, if you lose your receipt you have to pay extra for a new one to get a new list. Then they promise all these things like they have several houses in the area you want with exactly what you need and out of the list I received none of them were in the area I wanted. They are very slick talkers. They may mean well but they should really do some research on the houses they are trying to get people to rent. Truthfully I work at rentmax (that doesn't mean that you should cuss me out) Now before I worked here I actually used the service with my family. we have found two houses and now that its almost time to move again we are using it AGAIN... Thats right I work here and gave them the exact same amount as yall! To the people that have used it and hate it im sorry for that. but thats not all our fault. most of us truely try to help you find a place to live. but think about it this way. No matter where you go, no matter what store you go to your gonna sometimes run into people that are just terrible at what they do and don't care about your buisness. THATS LIFE!!! you just gotta go over their head and find someone that actually cares more than just bout their pay check. Ive had people come back to the office in little rock and hug me with tears in their eyes cause they had nowhere to go or live and found a place with us. the thing you have to remember is to always listen and always ask questions. because if you honestly try to work with us 95% of the time we'll push as hard as we can to help find you a place. I called in about a house, politely listened to the sales spiel, then declined when I heard about their $59 search fee. The sales rep, named Josh, tried to convince me otherwise, but when I firmly said, ""No thank you, but thank you for your time,"" he said, ""Okay, idiot"" and hung up the phone. more

I wish so badly that I had read the reviews of this place before paying for their so-called service. I called regarding a specific newspaper ad for an unfurnished HOUSE in the Hall High area. Rocky said the ""house"" was available and explained how Rent-Max acts as an unpaid agent for landlords, thus the justification for the $59 service fee. That seemed high for information, but he further quizzed me about where I wanted to live. I told him the Hillcrest area, but that I could only afford $650/month including utilities, which he said should be around $575 without utilities. He then said Rent-Max had over 2,000 properties in Little Rock with numerous houses for rent in my price range in Hillcrest, and that I would have no trouble finding a great place to live. This place is in dire need of training. From their employees in Shreveport, to the so called employees in Little Rock. We went and signed up in the office on University, after talking to ""josh"" at the call center. We were told by Josh that we should ""ask"" for him when we got to the office to sign up. He wasn't there, 2 hours after the phone call exactly when we told him that we would be getting to the office. We called him and he advised that the ""big boss"" wouldn't let him leave the call center to come to the University office that day. Fast forward to 4 days later when we try to use the call in service. The calls go to Shreveport, LA and Josh is THERE. No wonder his boss wouldn't let him ""leave the call center"" to be there for a face to face as he had made it seem. That would be quite a trip to meet with a customer, especially in a 2 hour window. I called down to rentmax and spoke to a guy name Josh Taylor and he was the sweetest gentleman. He was very professional and assisted me and my family with renting a home. After reading reviews I was a little iffy, but a friend referred me to Josh Taylor and he help me rent a home in no time. It only took us two days to get us into a nice rent to own home. I've now sent 5 friends of mine to him and they were very pleased with him and the rentmax services. Pros: Convienance Cons: na more

OMG! i just got a call from 'rocky' at rentmax...i had logged into the site looking around as i will be relocating in a couple of months. when i got to the part where they were gonna charge me i backed out...not sure yet if i need to pay someone to help me look for a rental. more

OMG! Where do I begin. This place should have gone out of business years ago. Ive been burned twice by the scumbags. I DO NOT RECOMMEND their services to any one. Any time I hear anyone considering Rentmax i convince them to consider other options. Just hearing obout my experiences is usually convincing enough. For one the ads they place in the newspaper always sound to good to be true. Thats exactly what they are. Of course when u call its no longer available or some other lame excuse. There was even a time I was given an address after calling the info line, I looked for the home for 3 hours I was on the street I asked neighbors about the address and everything. The address turned out to be an empty lot, not the beautiful home described by Rentmax. All Rentmax cud say was oh there must be some mistake we'll look into it. The list of homes they have is rarely updated, the homes that do exist look like garbage. Bottom Line is that youd be better of putting that 60 bucks in your gas tank and riding till the suns goes down. Rentmax is not worth the time or money. I am moving from Texas to the Little Rock Area, I called Rent max about one of they're listings were i was informed that i had to pay a 59 dollar fee to even get information about any rentals they had listed. Sounds like a real stupid business to me. i am just looking to rent a house and i guess they don't want my business. Cons: not customer friendly more

We called rent max and wanted to sign up because we had used them in the past and they were great ! This time they didnt bother to tell us that they had changed the service and you no longer get to see the listings online for 61 bucks you have to pay an extra ten dollars. For 61 bucks all you get is a phone number to call daily this other number a woman answers the phone and wants the account number then she says call me back in 15 minutes while she looks online and then reports back to you what she finds. We ordered the service on 7/6 by that night they had charged our account 61 dollars and then when we call the next morning they say the account was never created because they could not charge the account with out a signature but that already had. Were extremely rude were not helpful and then wanted me to go ahead and create a new account I was like I DO NOT THINK SO.
