Renaissance Bridals Classic

Renaissance Bridal provided me with a luxurious bridal experience. We were promptly greeted upon arriving for our appointment and were offered complimentary beverages after our bridal consultant, Deborah Wright briefly (yet efficiently) interviewed me looking for my expectations in a dress. This was not my first experience looking for a bridal gown and I can tell you, Renaissance Bridal knows bridal gowns and does it extremely well! Simply put, Deborah was nothing short of amazing. She listened to what I told her and picked dresses that suited my taste. There is such a wide array of bridal gowns in the shop. Deborah pulled several gowns that were all exactly what I described to her, but each one was subtly different. It was such a positive experience. Deborah is truly an experienced professional. I would recommend any bride looking for their wedding dress to contact her at Renaissance. I was her sole focus during my appointment. She was always looking for my reaction and critique about the various dresses I tried. \r \r In the end, I was able to confidently pick my wedding dress during my scheduled appointment time without ever feeling rushed or pressured. Traveling to Renaissance Bridal and having Deborah as my consultant was such a positive experience that I couldn't help but share my excitement! My friend purchased her wedding gown from Renaissance Bridal and then decided to order her bridesmaids gowns from the store as well. I live 4 hours from York, PA and was unable to get to the store to try on the dress so I was given a size chart and told to get measured and choose the dress size that matched my measurements. The contract that each bridesmaid was asked to sign stated that you should purchase your dress based off of the LARGEST MEASUREMENT. Since the gown was not super form fitting, I called the store numerous times before ordering to make sure that the dress chart completely matched the measurements of the dress being ordered. I also asked two different sales associates if I should order a smaller size since the dress was not form fitting and therefore my largest size shouldn't matter as much. I was told that ""yes, the size chart is true to size"" and ""no, order based off of your largest measurement."" I was then asked to make the entire payment for the dress upfront so that they would order the dress. When my gown came in it was over 2 sizes too big and could not be altered correctly because of all of the extra fabric and the way the dress was sewn. All five bridesmaids had the same problem, our gowns were all at least 2 sizes too large. One of the bridesmaids was even measured at the store and her gown was 2 sizes too big. When I called the store to discuss my options, I was immediately taken aback by the rude, unprofessional and downright nasty behavior of the ""saleswoman."" When I asked to speak to a manager she informed me that she was the OWNER. She told me she did not care that the size chart was incorrect and that she would not help me and it was my fault for ordering the wrong size even though it was the size shown on the chart and her salesgirls agreed that the size I ordered was the correct size. The owner then screamed at me that the contract said the dress could not be exchanged and if I didn't like it that its ""tough"" and that her contract was ""legal"" so I couldn't do anything about it. I then spoke to the bride who not only purchased her gown at Renaissance Bridal as well as 5 bridesmaid dresses but also had her grandmother purchase a $700 gown at the store and the grooms mother purchased a gown there as well. When the bride spoke with the owner, the owner not only screamed at her and told her she didn't care how much money she spent at the store but also threatened her that she would stop alterations on her bridal gown two weeks before her wedding ""if there was a problem."" Not only is this company fraudulent and unprofessional but purchasing anything from this store or the woman who runs it would be making a deal with the devil. This is not a woman or a company that I would want to deal with when it comes to purchasing the most important gown you will ever wear. more

What an amazing place to feel special. I can only say great things about this place. I had no idea how that I would ever find a wedding gown. My consultant was wonderful and picked out gowns for me. She was certainly good at her job. After only 3 dresses, I was able to say yes!! Let them do thier job..I will certainly return for bridemaids, an tux's Thank you so much for making me feel special..I don't often. more

By far, Renaissance Bridal Shop in York is the best place to shop for Mother of the Bride and Groom's dresses! Even though the store was extremely busy, I was greeted immediately by the very professional dressed store manager who took me over to the Mother's dresses, inquired about the wedding, showed me a few dresses that he thought might be good for me and told me how to put heart shape rings on my selections, and then even set me up with my personal assistant! The selection was unbelievable and I tried on about 12 gorgeous dresses and my assistant helped me the entire time making sure the dresses were all pinned to fit, so I could get the best feel for how the dress would look in my smaller size. I never once had to handle a single dress on a hanger. My assistant was very pleasant, knowledgeable, professional, and helpful in guiding me in selecting the perfect dress. The rest of the staff would comment on the dresses also. Afterward's I was treated to a yummy chocolate dessert and a long stem rose. It was such pleasant experience and I would highly recommend Renaissance as the place to shop. With two more children to get married, I certainly will be going back for the royal treatment in the future. On a side note, my daughter and I had spent two days shopping for a dress and this was our last stop. All the other places we shopped had a very limited selection, hardly no assistance, outdated dresses, or was too cold to even try on a dress. more

I was shopping with the bride to be and we didn't even get to look, we were told at the door, that they didn't even carry any dresses to fit her. They didn't even apologize or say it tactfully it was horrible. We had been to quite a few other places and were treated with respect and every store took the time to pull dresses and were very helpful. I'm not even the bride and I was mortified. more

I've been to David's Bridal and Alfred Angelo, and this does not even compare! The dresses are so well made, and the details are amazing. They offered personal one on one service, and were very helpful with finding me a gown I loved. The owner even came out to offer her personal opinion! I loved this store, and I would recommend it to everyone! Pros: Unique dresses, gorgeous details, personalized service Cons: Dresses are pricier than most I have seen - but well worth it! more

Assuming this store was appointment only, I stopped by to get a feel for the store and their inventory and to make an appointment for when I had a more time to really shop. I never got the chance however, when despite their being four people working in the store no one would even give me the basic information I requested. Instead the chastised me for my lack of appointment then again for not having already purchased my gown. For a store that prides themselves on customer service they did not seem interested in my business. So I will take my thousands of dollars of business elsewhere.
