Redmond Family Dentistry

Dr. Sackman does seem to have a condescending attitude. He often speaks to his assistants like you are not in the room. He often tries to make decisions about your dental health care without consulting you. If you tell him that your financial situation doesn't allow you to have the dental work completed that he wants done then he seems to get irritated and he tries to push you into making a financial commitment. I don't know if these hard push tactics come from his concern for your dental health or from a need to make a profit in a tight economy. My guess it is 50/50. I believe he is correct in pointing out the dental problems that people have. I think he is competent in performing dentistry. I just don't care for the high brow attitude and that is why I'm searching for a new dentist that is just as competent, but without the high pressure tactics. more

At 70 I have been to many dentists, but I never have been more happy than I am with Drs Sackman and Whittle. From a simple cleaning, to a tooth implant Redmond Family Dentistry has always been available when my family needed them. My wife and I are very happy with their services. more

He is condescending and duplicitous. Do not be taken in by his friendly demeanor. I spent $10,000 with him and now my teeth don't come together. Refused to correct his work. more

Both Dr. Sackman and Dr. Whittle are excellent in their demeanor and skill. I've been a patient for the last 5 years and have work done by both doctors. Each is unique in their personality, bringing clear expertise to bear on my dental issues.They are extraordinarily accommodating to my needs, schedule and concerns. In 40+ years of being on the receiving end of dental care, I think they're the best! more

Felt a little condescended to when I was asking questions for my dental procedure. The dentist hummed and breathed in my face and spoke to his assistant like I was not even there the whole time. Was given a slight attitude when I asked about pain. My teeth didn't feel like they lined up correctly afterwards, but the attitude prevented me from pushing and making them correct it. When mentioning it over the phone, was told that I'd "get used to it". I'm changing dentists. more

Dr. Whittle is by far the friendliest, most approachable dentist I have ever encountered. She genuinely cares, not just about your teeth, but about you. I had to have a crown--a scary process for me because I'd never had one before. Dr. Whittle made sure I knew what was going on every step of the way, as well as that I was comfortable and as relaxed as possible. The other staff members at this practice are also excellent--Dr. Sackmann did my last filling, and suggested I might not need anesthetic--this totally freaked me out, but on his recommendation, I gave it a try (it was a very shallow filling) and he was absolute right! No nasty ground tooth smell from the drill, either. Plus, both doctors will apply a topical anesthetic before giving you a Novocaine shot--maybe this isn't a recent development, but it pleased me to no end to not even think about a needle! Their office is a lovely, remodeled home in Old Redmond, and it feels very comforting and friendly. more
