Editorial review from Citysearch 10/30/2012

At first i had signed my two dogs up for swimming only and no day boarding, all seemed fine at first then when the sun reflected on the pool, you saw how dirty filled with hair that floated on top, then the instructor over seeing the pool area, whined and complained about her job, there is a huge communication problem between everyone that works there. they don't deem to really care or even get excited about their job. then i day boarded, i dropped my girls off at 8;30 am picked them up by 3pm they went swimming and we soaken wet and had been left in the room all wet and no potty time . Terrible experience, they have a good concept, but not professional, no one seems to really care about what they are doing. Never again! more

I should have taken those below posts at their word. In my opinion, this facility presents a staff with little education and no heart for the animals. My pup was bitten there, got sick with a cough, and came home with behavioral problems. I contacted management to help with the issues, to no avail. We switched to a new facility, and all is well. While Red Dog is in a great location, thats about it. Be very careful if you consider taking your dog here. Pros: null Cons: null more

Great day care 3/15/2012

We've taken our 2 year-old small dog once a week for day care for 1 and 1/2 years. Fantastic place. They know him when we walk in and he is SO excited to go! As soon as we turn down the street he starts whining to get there! He loves it and we enjoy watching him on the webcam and he comes home tired. :) Pros: null Cons: null more

worst costumer service 2/27/2011

I was looking for a dog boarding facility to care for my 4 dogs. First when I called for a tour they told me to come in, and said I could not bring my dog. I wanted one of my dogs to get a feel of the place. When I arrived the front desk person said she could not leave her desk and there was no one available to give the tour. I said that I was told I could come in today. Then she proceeded to get someone else and their replied was " I don't have time" That there discouraged me. If they do not have time for me, then they probably do not have time for the dogs. Finally, one lady was able to give me the tour ... she took me around the place and completed the tour in less than five minutes. I was rushed. She did not ask any questions about my dogs. I told her that one of my dogs would bark when she has to go out. She said that all of their dogs bark. I felt that they will let my dog urinate in her suit. Overall first impression , I would never take my dog to a place like that.. There was no TLC and the facility was almost empty for them to say they do not have time. What would happen if the facility was busy? I do not want to know.. poor dogs who stay there. more

Great Find! 7/17/2010

I recently boarded my three dogs at Red Dog after a friend's recommendation. I was very impressed with the facility and staff, friendly, efficient and caring. The facility is beautiful and extremely clean and no smell. I boarded my dogs in a suite and opted for the webcam to keep an eye on them during out vacation. They seemed very content when I looked in. The great thing about the suites is they are quiet and private, the dogs cannot see into other suites, so less stress for my dogs! The pricing of the services was very resonable. My dogs came home healthy and happy! Looking forward to our next visit! more

Terrible Experience 6/12/2010

The desk staff do not know their dog breeds, are not considerate of the dogs, or the owners. Found the staff to be the same. Cons: Don't Care about the Dogs or People more

Quite a find 1/20/2010

This place has just what I have been looking for, pet-loving staff and clean/safe boarding facility. I used to board with the breeder of my two pugs but they much prefer playing with other dogs and they love the pool. I did check on the 24 hour staffing when my two girls went for their first overnight stay and there was actually someone there at 1AM! Not sure what that other post was referring to though, the webcam in our room was still on and they were sound asleep. It is a bit pricier than other options I looked at but it is worth it...especially if you have multiple dogs or buy the prepaid daycare and pool passes. Pros: My pugs love the friendly staff, fancy building and pool Cons: Hard to find on first visit more

I'm Concerned 9/29/2009

Workers at the front desk told me someone would be there all day and night. I have never kenneled my dog before and was concerned. I went by the kennel later in the evening and no one was there. Also, they unplugged the webcam showing someone there. Pros: Near my home Cons: Honesty more

Great Facility 8/11/2009

My dogs (a 13 yr old Corgi and a Cavalier King Charles Spaneile, age 2) have been going to Red Dog since they opened. I am very excited to have such a great facility 5 minutes from my home in Hyde Park...but I would drive for the service I and my dogs get. The groomer, Angela, is wonderful. The front desk staff love my dogs and have gotten to know their personal quirks. They know the older Corgi does not like day care, so when they board, she gets to relax in the room while her "sister" goes to play. My dogs love the place and the people. It is a tad expensive, but you get what you pay for. Pros: Wonder facility, caring people Cons: Expensive more

Great dog hotel 12/1/2008

Heard about this place from a friend and used it for the first time over thanksgiving. Overall it was a pleasant experience for me and my new terrier. The employees were great, very friendly and caring, theh place was clean and I will return. Only complaint is that they didnt have any more suites available when i booked and therefore was unable to view my puppy on a webcam. Just an FYI...book early for the holidays. Pros: people, suites, outdoor play area, no smell Cons: have to book early for holidays more

Treats employees with disrespect 2/25/2008

I would not recommend taking your dog here as the owners treat employees badly and with disrespect. I believe you treat animals the same way treat people. He is only out to make a buck and doesnt care. Its all show. This is the reason for all the high turnover. Also, I do not recommend anyone working in that environment. I know I sound disgruntled and I am but I want people to know. Pros: employees remaining are resilient Cons: dont care about people more

Friendly staff won us over 2/16/2008

I am a new customer of RedDog after my husband and I were impressed by the staff and facility on our recent tour. The place is kinda hard to find at first and took us nearly 20 minutes from our home in Kenwood because all they had was a small temporary sign that we drove right past on our first visit. Once we got there we couldn't believe how detail oriented the manger/owner was in designing the building, everything from the pool to the 'old dog room' to the outdoor park makes it unique for Cincinnati. We like how they limit the number of dogs in daycare and they have outdoor grass or turf areas. This was one of the problems with the place we used to go called Petspot because it only has concrete outside and always has way too many dogs in the day-care room. The woman at RedDog that gave us a tour was great, and she made sure everything was taken care of on our dog's first visit. I cant believe i am saying this but it really is a ritz for dogs! They have a new sign now that makes it easier to find but we've just told our friends to look for the old oakley drive in. Pros: Staff/pet care/building Cons: Was difficult to locate at first, no sunday drop off more
