Editorial review from Citysearch 9/24/2013

Truly surprised by the reviews above, there must be many like me that are satisfied customer or the doors would be closed. First off this review is for a service on my 2009 Corolla . The service folks did a good job fitting me in and even washed the car. I give that a 5 for 5. This isn't my first good experience with the nice folks at the Ray Brant Toyota store. My daughter recently moved into the area and while visiting I responded to a Toyota on line sales offer. Now I have probably the only Louisiana Edition Tundra in New York. I took it to my local Toyota store where I've purchased 3 new cars in the last 5 years and they said they were sorry to miss out on a sale but would not be able to match the deal I received at the Ray Brant store. Because my granddaughter is in NOLA I will certainty be returning to the Ray Brant Store for service and perhaps another new car as it's 2400 miles round trip to bounce my granddaughter on my knee.\r BTW the Tundra is a nice truck! more

Horrible experience because of my salesman Greg Alexander. You actually had the nerve to ask if you were going to get slammed on the review.....the answer is YES! I was treated better by the salesmen on the floor that weren't even involved with my new car purchase. Greg Alexander was rude, brash, and completely uninterested in customer service. Was only interested in making the deal and getting paid. I filled out an online request, filled out an online finance application, had a couple of conversations with Greg Alexander and explicitly explained to him that I didn't want to be at the dealership all day. I explained that I wanted a Camry, told him my price budget, told him all about my trade (a Corolla purchased there in 2010) and gave him all the information he needed to have a deal ready when I arrived for my appointment with him. I arrived at 12:30 and FIVE HOURS later he made the ultimate mistake when he tried to let me drive off the lot with a ""brand new"" Camry that had 200 miles on it, was a ""dealer trade"" from somewhere else, and clearly had an engine defect. He first claimed he didn't hear it, but he personally drove it off the lot to get it gassed up. How he didn't hear the engine knocking is beyond me. Then when we pointed out to Greg Alexander that the car didn't sound right and that the engine was knocking, he had the audacity to suggest that ""that's how four cylinder cars sound."" When we called the customer service manager out there (Richard Ray) he clearly thought something was wrong with the car and immediately told Greg Alexander to find me another Camry! To me, that was just the ultimate ""I don't give a crap about my customers, I'm just here to make whatever deal I can."" Thank you Richard Ray for making it right, thank you Alex for trying your best to help but Greg Alexander refused any help whatsoever when it was clear he was completely overwhelmed, and thank you to Jeff in the finance office for working out a deal. If you use this dealership, just make sure you steer clear of Greg Alexander. He really should be fired!\r \r Robin\r Marrero, LA more

What a bunch of snake oil salesmen. I spoke to Robin Pati, he was so pleasant and of course found me the make and model I wanted. We negotiated a fair price. He then sent me information with the price and vin number to show that they were going to get it for me. He also promised me over a dozen times they would have it. I go the next day to complete the sale, and leave work early to be able to meet with the salesmen. BAM! No car! All a ruse to try to sell me something else I told them specifically I didn't want. Don't waste your time with these scum. Epitome of a group of shady Car salesmen. Had far more truth from Covington, though more expensive, Toyota of New Orleans, and Slidell. I know this is a common practice, but now you will know after reading this that they do it. Good luck buying a Toyota, great cars, horrible experience trying to buy one. more

STEER CLEAR! 3/26/2012

This dealership looks great, and looks are very deceiving. They're shady, rude, and downright unprofessional as soon as you sign your name. Have an issue? They'll just ignore you. Have a question? Get a misdirection! All I have to say, is if you go here after reading this review, and get screwed, you deserved it. more

Wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole! 8/6/2011

I just don't trust these guys! Wanted to purchase a used 4runner. They offered me a ""too good to be true"" offer. A 2008 4 Runner with 23000 miles for $18,000. That is thousands under Trade in value. When we asked for the car fax, we were given a CarFax on a completely different car. Of course they told us if we didn't move quickly the car would be sold first thing in the morning. They called us in the morning to tell us the car, in fact, had not been sold and was still available. We asked them to email us the correct car fax. With in 3 minutes, they called back to tell us the car was sold. What we failed to mention to them is that we did a vin number search on the vehicle and the car had no history! Hmm smells fishy too me! more

ray brandt of kenner SUCKS 9/8/2010

i went there after going to 2 other toyota dealership to compare prices, Michael Edwards was our salesman, we're talking about 20-30 thousand dollars here, this guy jus keeps rambling on and on about how they are the biggest toyota in the state, you will not get any better deals anywhere else, more like biggest a**holes in the state. the deal he gave us sucked ass and it was more expensive than the other dealerships, then he gets mad that we didnt take his offer, please be more professional? WE ARE THE ONES SPENDING OUR DAM MONEY ON THIS CAR, not his ass, this is kind of a big fcuking deal. so we denied him and he calls the next day asking if i found the car i wanted at a cheaper price, i told him i did and he said "" YEAH RIGHT, IF YOU GO TO THE OTHER PLACE JUST DONT COME BACK HERE "" to insult me i suppose. so i told him ""ok"" lols, ended up getting my car and everything i wanted with a ""professional"" salesman who has some patience. GOOD LUCK TO YOU TOYOTA BUYERS. im not trying to persuade you not to go to ray brandt, just telling my story more

Go somewhere else.... Scam artists! 9/5/2010

I tried buying a car here, but they lie, lie, lie! You can't trust their employees. They tell you one thing on the phone and when you getr there it's a totally different story and they can't honor what they already told you! Ray Brandt says come get a Ray Brandt deal, but it's a sham and his employees know it. I would NOT buy a car here! more

All I can say from Danny Waguespack Service Manager to Eric and Sheila service representatives. All of them mentioned are always and I do mean always have been very trusting. I have a 4 Runner going on 17 years old and I must say because of their attentiveness and genuine concern of all service matters. That is one of the main reasons my vehicle has lasted this long. ***** Rating if I could give them Six Stars I would. Lastly I look forward to having my vehicle serviced. I bet many who reads this must think I am crazy. But this Dealership is that good! Pros: Courteous Helpful Never had a problem more

STAY AWAY...THERE ARE BETTER DEALERS 8/26/2009

Just beacuse I drive an old toyota (1999 corolla which is in perfect shape and gives me 37miles/gallon) doesn't mean I should be insulted...This is how I felt when I went to get my car serviced at this place...I'd rather drive a few more miles and get my servicing at another toyota dealership. Pros: Nothing...need to search for one Cons: Treat you like s*** more

Not a bad selection of cars, just don't make them mad.‎ 2/14/2009

So I tried out the place and found a Prius I liked. Now I'm a poor dental student and I couldn't offer alot for it (4000 less than what they would accept). This place seemed greatly offended by my offer almost as if I wanted a sacrifice of their first born. The sales manager came out and insulted me quite a bit. I shook his hand and left out the door. Another man came running after me, maybe to make a deal. However, he continued to berate me and essentially call me dumb. I left shocked and amazed and in need of chocolate to improve my self esteem. more

Ray Brandt Dodge 8/28/2008

Typical loud south shore(new orleans) dealership.People get in your face or space when they talk to you.Think since Katrina everyone owes them ..Kiss your a** until the find out their DEAL is not going to make tons of money or your upside down...They trip getting to you when you walk up then act like your breath stinks when they feel there is not enough profit. They knew i was upside down on the phone....ran my credit and said the deal was 100%with my trade....a 2008 dodge sxt loaded(22,000 dollar truck) with 11,000 miles....then they offered me 7000 for my truck on the trade when the kelly book and the web sights say 10,000-12,500.I missed a 1/2 day of work for this crap....Just typical in the car sales industry.I do recommend Allstar in Baton Rouge who i bought my 2008 Dodge from that I was trying to trade for the truck they said they were selling for 15,000 off the sticker......they just low ball you on the trade to make the difference. Pros: no sales pros working there Cons: tell you what you want to hear to get you there more

Avoid the sales manager at Ray Brandt Hyundai 6/17/2008

Last night we went to purchase a Hundai Sonata. We were ready to make the deal when the manager, Mike blew it!! Pros: Greeting customers & our sales person Cons: MANAGER MANAGER MANAGER more

Avoid this dealership. Stay away 3/5/2008

This was the worst time I ever had with a dealership. The guys were dishonest and very shady. The manager made my wife cry and he always acts like he wants to fight me physically. I bought a car there and it turned out to be a lemon. The car needed the timing belt replaced right after I bought it, the car leaks, and I had to get my attorney to call them to get a little respect. They said they would return my money, only after I got my lawyer involved.... The manager was a total as***** and is very rude. I'm the customer I'm the one that should be angry but this guy made me feel scared.. We have to pay up to $400.00 dollars to get it towed to the dealership, since they will not pay and the timing belt might break. What a wast of time and money. Cons: worst experience ever more
