I took my husband and one other couple to celebrate my husband's birthday. Well let me tell you how embarrassed I was with my friends. The food took for ever to be served. They make us place another order of drinks which it was too expensive. Right after that we paid we were told that we have to leave the table because it was reserve for someone else. I can't believe this! I would never go there again. They are very rude and unprofessional. more

I went to this spot back in June (haven't had the free time to write this) for a good friend's birthday. I was very excited because the website had amazing pictures and I love rooftop lounges. Let me start with the pros. 1) The pictures don't lie. The views were beautiful. It was a really nice night and they retracted the glass roof so we had and unobstructed view of the city and bridge. 2) The food I had was good. I wouldn't say that it was so good it was worth the price but it was still good food. Now to the cons. 1) The service was some of the worse service I have ever see in my life. I would like to hope that it just happened to be a night when several wait staff called out, but I doubt it. My waitress was nice and seemed fairly competent but she was overwhelmed. It took 20 minutes for us to get drinks. (I ordered the caipirinha which is very tasty.) Once the drinks came it was another 30 minutes before we were served our food. In my pros I mentioned that ""the food I had was good"" because all I got were the fries. I had also ordered the Spicy Chicken Wings but alas after over an hour never received them. We still had fun and made sure our friend had a great birthday but I'll wait a while before going back. Enough time for management to sort out the proper way to staff for a busy Saturday night. more

We were staying at the hotel for a wedding and had a good majority of the rooms for a long 3 day weekend. The bride and groom reserved a cabana for the after party at midnight. Our party arrived at 12:15 and the cabana had been given away. They wouldn?t even let us past the door. We spoke with the penthouse manager and she couldn?t have been ruder. She didn?t care that she had given the cabana away because she was still making money from the party she had given it to. They are obviously kidding when they say you can make a reservation. The penthouse seemed to draw an interesting crowd. I would be careful! more

I never come back to that place, and to finish the story my friend was chocked by the bouncer......hope he sue this people more

I had an awesome time at Penthouse 808. It’s a hidden gem, great atmosphere. The service is incredible; waiters are so friendly and helpful. My favorite drink was the sangria it was delicious. I will definitely go back again. :) more

Once we entered the complex you could feel the energy and hear the music in the distance from the rooftop. We were cordially greeted by the door staff and once we were taken to the roof by the host the elevator doors opened and the combination of the energy, music & the view were super impressive. Sexy vocal house music and the sun setting over the Manhattan skyline it made me wish summer would end. We set on "The Edge" as they called it which was a dinner table hovering 6 floors over the streets below and order 2 pitchers from their specialty drink menu. Once they arrived we odered some sushi and flatbreads which were fresh and tasty as we couldn't eat them fast enough as the party was starting to really heat up and we wanted to dance the night away. I will definately see you again this Sunday Penthouse808 please save me the same table I had last night. more

Service was sooo slow and the waiters were not happy people, obviously from over working. You'd think that for Mother's Day they would make it extra special and accommodating for patrons, but no. I was embarrassed I took my mom there, plus I had 9 other guests! Check your bill thoroughly before you pay because they charged us $23 dollars for a side dish of ham!! Since May until now I have yet to see my refund---I doubt it'll be coming. Cross this place off our list for sure. PS if you're looking for a good view of Manhattan, it's so so, you'll have to crop your pictures because of a factory or some sort of plant in the fore ground. more

I would NOT recommend this place if you like good service and food! We went there on a Tuesday night expecting a nice and enjoyable meal but wound up regretting entire experience. First off since they were out of the crabcake appetizer (on a slow Tuesday?!) , we ordered the hot wings and duck rolls as appetizers. After a 45 minutes wait, our appetizers finally arrived - WITH the entree! The hot wings were bland and the duck rolls tasted like paper. The skirt steak I ordered as an entree was not good at all - you'd fare better at a chain restaurant. The mixed drink I ordered tasted like cough medicine. And you can't just blame the waitress for the horrible service! She was servicing 7 dinner tables and 2 lounge areas all by herself ! But as apologetic as she was, we left there disappointed, annoyed and just plain ol' let down. Pros: None, none, none Cons: Bad Service and Horrible Food more
