not what I expected 10/17/2008

I go to las vegas about twice a year and I had ben wanting to try Guy Savoy but never had the time. I just returned from vegas and myself and 2 friends ate there on Wednesday night. I ordered the pousson and I was not paying attention to what I was eating because I was talking but when I looked down at my plate I realized parts of it (the drumsticks) were undercooked. I thought that it should be ok but sure enough, I was throwing up all morning. The service was outstanding, the champagne was fantastic but when I pay $100 for chicken, I expect it to at least be cooked. Pros: good service Cons: bad experience more

NYC dining in Vegas 7/31/2008

You can not get into Rao's NYC but we had no problem getting into Rao's Vegas. We come from Italian families so the food was not that impressive. The pasta was cooked perfect (hard to find in a resaurant)and we enjoyed the food while we were there. But we never expected to be craving our dishes two days later. So I guess we enjoyed it more than we thought. Would recommend. Pros: good for groups Cons: good for groups more

Close...but.....not quite 3/22/2008

With such a storic history we entered Guy Savoy with much excitment and anticipation, unfortunately it fell short of the mark. Both of us ordered the tasting menu, and while the food was outstanding, for $1400 for two people we felt there should be more to the experience then the food. The service was very stuffy...we never felt relaxed...almost afraid to carry a conversation in regular voice tone....there is no need for the servers to ask you if the food is great on each course....just a little bit to much stroking of your own ego if you ask me...our somellier spilled wine on the table cloth two times, now this might sound very prudish...but for that kinda of money and reputation....that was a true amature and almost Olive Garden mistake. Pros: food, flavors Cons: service more

Great experience 12/29/2006

We had an intimate wedding dinner here and they went above and beyond what I expected. Service is outstanding and food excellent. I had them prepare a special wedding cake that was beautifully decorated. The menus were beautifully printed for the occaision and the experience was incredible. I've been to many of the great restaurants in Vegas and this one stands out, much better than Joel R over at the MGM. more
