We were over due on our oil change. We happened to be in the area and I had never used RMC before so I called to see if they could get me in. I took them a while to answer the phone and another wait to get the service center to pick up. Once someone picked up (Clarence) He gave me a time to come in and took my info and was very polite.\r We arrived on time and pulled into the service bays. The place was a bit messy due to the remodeling they are going through.\r Me & my 5 yo. got out and stood next to our car, know one greeted us except another customer waiting to pay. Finally a older man asked if we had an appointment and steered us to Clarence's office area. Once off the phone Clarence introduced himself to me and my 5 year old....very cool. We went over the specifics, he showed us where the waiting room was and went on his business. For a company this size (regardless of the renovations) their waiting room was lame.\r Me and the boy headed to the show room to 'look' at the rides. NOT ONE PERSON SAID HELLO. I can remember my Dad taking me to our local dealership when we needed the family truckster worked on and we got the grand tour of the place. We sat in cars, collected brochures, TALKED to salespeople and learned about the cool stuff cars had that year. No we weren't buying, but we were customers.\r Fast forward 11 years and I was buying my first car from the very salesman that picked me up and set me in the back of the new truck on the sales floor years ago.\r My son and I ventured down to look at the new trucks and Suburbans. Someone did ask if we needed help ""just looking"" I say, and that was it. Are they that busy? I got a weird vib from these folks.\r OK, back to the service center. We made a pit stop to the parts department to look at hats, shirts etc. The man working the desk was very polite and friendly.\r We popped into the waiting room and within 5 minutes Clarence was back to tell us our car was finished.\r Check out was easy and they had a offer that Chevrolet was giving $10 back on a mail-in rebate, (they were out of coupons, but Clarence wrote it all down). Everything looked and sounds normal..... will we be back? 60% on the No side, we'll see. more

I want to send a heartfelt thank you to Alan Pope and the team at Randy Marion Chevrolet for helping take care of my 70 year old parents, who insisted on driving from FL to my home in PA. At 7:00 Saturday morning I got a call that they had broken down on Highway 77. We quickly searched the internet to find the closest Chevy dealer to their location. Lucky for us it was Randy Marion Chevrolet. We contacted AAA and had their van towed to dealership, when I called the service department I spoke to Alan Pope and immediately felt like we were in good hands. When my parents arrived Mr. Pope called me to let me know they were there and they were safe. The service team quickly diagnosed the problem and called me to let me know what was needed and how much it would cost. The biggest fear, other than their safety, is that my parents would be taken advantage of far from home and far from their destination. Mr. Pope and his team gave us a more than fair price to fix the car and had them back on the road in less than 3 hours. He even took the extra step and called me to tell me they were on their way and that he had suggested a restaurant and hotel in case they need to rest. But it doesn’t stop there; when I spoke to my parents they told me Mr. Pope didn’t just point them in the direction of a restaurant, he offered to get them food. I may be 400+ miles from Randy Marion Chevrolet and Mr. Alan Pope, but I will shop there first for all of my car purchases. I urge everyone and anyone who reads this to please shop at Randy Marion first. Mr. Pope thank you for getting my parents quickly and safely on their way. The best part is I am sure it was business as usual for you, that is just the kind of guy you seen to be. Randy Marion is lucky to have you. more

BEWARE!!!!! 4/5/2012

I had my GMC Denali repaired there in March of 2012, As part of the repair they needed to replace the instrument cluster which was done as warranty by GM. Randy Marion replaced the cluster prior to getting the OK from GM. Upon pick up I was asked to pay the full amount of the repair including to cost of the cluster with the assurance that it would just take a ""couple of day's"" to be reimbursed. As of today I have yet to see the money. I was given every excuse for the problem from ""The accounting person has been sick"" to ""We are busy closing out the month"" If this is the way they treat customers it is no wonder GM needed the bailout. Beware of this dealership!!!!! more

BEST TRUCK BUYING EXPERIENCE 4/3/2012

I have been a customer of Randy Marion for over 20 years. I have purchased Chevrolet, GMC and Pontiac vehicles from both Randy Marion locations, Huntersville and Mooresville,N.C.. My experiences have been nothing but POSITIVE experiences. This includes the Service Departments and Sales Departments. I just completed purchasing a new Silverado 4 door LTZ. \r I shopped around and found Randy Marion to be the lowest priced on new Silverado Trucks. What a selection to choose from. My Salesman was GREAT to deal with and the financing was easy and quick.\r Once again my shopping experience was GREAT. more

Avoid a horrible experience. No ppi's by policy = no deal 3/29/2012

My experience shopping at Randy Marion was absolutely horrible. If you're buying a used car, especially a high end car- be very careful about coming in having done your research on price. I had a salesman named Greg who was unwilling to work with me to get a price that would benefit the both of us. When we got to a point that was somewhat of a better scenario to work with, he pulled out their policy against getting Pre-purchase inspections (PPIs) and said that if I wanted to get it checked out then I'd have to ""take it as my car."" basically the only way I could get it inspected was if I purchased the vehicle and brought it to my mechanic, and they'd pay to fix whatever problems were with it. As a buyer, this puts you at a huge disadvantage in having any ability to walk away from a lemon. If the car I purchased had some serious electrical issues, chances are I would pass from the get-go. NEVER BUY A USED CAR WITHOUT GETTING A PPI!!! Their VP called me after I left and informed me that this was company policy etc... Then Randy Marion himself actually called me and told me that he'd been taken advantage of by others and that he essentially couldn't allow anyone to get a PPI without buying an auto. In other words; he does not trust his customers. How can you purchase an automobile from a dealer that will not trust you? Better yet, how can you trust a company that does not trust you. I had a coworker that came to this dealership because they were advertising $19 oil changes, but she got bait and switched; ended up paying $59 after the service was performed. She was told that she had to ask for the non synthetic oil for her car to pay the $19r. Her car doesn't even need synthetic oil in the first place since it's a 98'! This is a classic bait and switch. There are plenty of dealers around Charlotte. Save your gas from driving up to Mooresville towards a more respectable dealer purchase. Steve Moore, City Chevrolet, KefferVW... These are some of the gems in the area. Don't get played at Randy Marion. more

Disappointed 1/21/2012

We got a quote for a car and drove 40 minutes and 5 minutes before we arrived, they called and said the price listed was wrong and without me even prompting, immediately was informed they wouldn't be willing to work with us on price. We still went there to discuss and Ernie was rude, overly defensive over his company's mistake and treated us as if we were the ones who messed up. We asked to look at other vehicles and he was so uninterested that another sales rep took over. It was a horrible experience and the whole time, we were never offered to come inside the office even though it was raining and cold outside. I would never recommend their services to anyone and as far as pricing, they have used cars highly overpriced. Before we left they informed us that this isn't the first time they have mis-priced and mis-informed someone, last time it was a gentleman from South Carolina who was making the drive. I would check into other review sites on them as well as there are many more negative posts on their service, this seems to be the one you can easily pull up but is the only one that has decent reviews. more

EXCELLENT SERVICE 1/15/2009

I have purchased my last three vehicles from Randy Marion and referred both my mother and sister-in-law who also bought their cars from there. The sales staff is both considerate and caring. No dealership in the area comes close to their pricing. The service department is second to none. I would recommend this dealership to everyone. Pros: Great service, excellent prices, expert staff & huge inventory. Cons: None!!! Great experiences!!! more
