We ate at Randazzo's the night before a friend's wedding since it was nearby and we had heard good things. The good thing is that the food is fresh--the peppers are hot, the bread is baked, the sauce comes from a pot not a jar. The bad thing is that the prices are through the roof for these things, and they don't taste phenomenal, only okay at best. Maybe I am biased (okay, I am) since this is the type of food I grew up with, but $30 with the tip for a plate of spaghetti and meatballs? Seriously? Yes, they stuff the meatballs with ricotta, but that's not worth the markup, especially when that's about all they do to this "signature" dish...it was still just gravy on spaghetti. Sausage and peppers are around $15, and that's street food you can pick up for $5-$8 up north depending on the place, and it will taste better. I feel like since there are so few "authentic" Italian places, they can charge more for less quality food. It was just very disappointing since at those prices I was expecting a meal to taste very good or homecooked, but it was just lacking. My pasta was too oily with very little flavor, hubby's sauce was too sweet, and there was not enough balsamic on the caprese salad for my liking (though I love that stuff). This isn't a place that we will be back to if we can help it.
