When you first venture into this quaint little shop, you're greeted with a friendly gesture and they sort of have an intuition of what you're seeking. They quickly express options and have a back floral storage where they keep all their limited and unusual materials for their arrangements. Their front refrigerator had an excellent selection of things like a wide assortment of large headed roses, many of which I have never seen before. They boasted five different kinds (I mean different forms not just colors) of Hydrangeas, fancy lilies, colored callas in a variety of colors, garden roses, peonies (I ended up getting these for Thanksgiving hostess gifts), orchids, gerbera daisies so big they looked artificial, and proteas, and so on. Just coming from Fujikami Florist, Honolulu Florist and Beretania Florist, I was amazed that Rainforest had flowers that neither of these carried, yet all three carried pretty much all the same flowers and looks. Rainforest even carried over twenty different kinds of anthuriums and as many as twenty different kinds of orchids. Their arrangements varied so greatly so as each piece could have come from entirely different florist shops. You just couldn't decide which one to get. The staff helped me decide which ones to get basing their selection on the recipient's birth date (of which I didn't have a clue), then basing it on apparel and designer choice. I was amazed how affluent they were in making a final selection based on dress and fashion sense. Of course the recipient just went ga ga when I brought the flowers to her and the guy was right on top of things when he said that she would just flip over them, and she did. What I was even more suprised is that when I made my selection from the flower box, the guy went in the back and refreshened the water and gave it new flower food and vitamins. They also said that they couldn't see having me give these cold water flowers to someone to have a wet spot when I'd drop them off. I was very amazed and did recall water from perspiration of the cold vase as it adjusted to warm in another floral delivery experience from another florist. Rainforest also boxed it and reminded me to add fresh water daily along with some hints in prolonging their flowers. They even gave me an instruction card (not the generic kind that Safeway has attached with their wraps) but thoroughly thought out solutions and suggestions and even a website describing more concise instructions with pictures showing step by step directions.
I could go on but I think you get the point. The other reviews are very true and with the one exception that they are open on Sundays by appointment or preorders.
Pros: Helpful service, knowledgeable staff, friendly, professional
Cons: Due to their huge following they can sell out quickly
