Beware of the parking scam Rag-O-Rama employs 5/9/2012

I wish I had read Gene's post before shopping at Rag-o-Rama. My daughter and I were there last Sunday, bought some items from the store, proceeded to another store to buy shoes to go with the outfit, and upon returning to the parking lot found our car had been booted by Empire. Turns out, even though you are supposed to park there if you're shopping, Rag-O-Rama wants you the hell off their lot if you step foot off of their property. Plus, their ""no return"" policy ensures that you will not be able to return the items you purchased from them to offset the $75 you had to pay to park. Great way to treat your customers, Rag-O-Rama! The lady next to me was also booted because she stepped right next door after shopping to get a smoothie. I will not give one more dime to an establishment that treats its own customers so poorly. more

car booted while trying to shop at Rag-O-Rama 11/17/2011

I just got a boot on my car after being parked in the Rag-O-Rama in Little Five Points lot for less than 2 minutes. I had planned on doing some shopping after grabbing a iced tea (to-go) next door. By the time I returned to Rag-O-Rama (once again, less than two minutes since I had parked) there was a boot on my car put there by Empire Parking Services whom Rag-O-Rama employs to oversee their lot. ...After talking to the manager of the Little Five points store, I was informed there was nothing that could be done for me even though I was there to patronize the store. I had to pay $75 so I could get the boot removed. Dear Rag-O-Rama please reconsider the company you have hired to manage your parking lot. You have forever lost my business and I will do everything in my power to share this with others in hopes that you will come to your senses and start treating your customers and the Little Five Points community with respect. Good day to you Sir. more

One Man's Trash... 6/28/2010

At the very end of Little 5 Points’ beating path, Rag-O-Rama reigns thrift supreme. Bringing into fruition the idea that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, Rag-O-Rama is best thrift/used clothing store in the city. What gives Rag-O-Rama the crown is that the selection is narrowed by it’s staff and customers. They only purchase new and vintage things that are stylish and in good condition – such as Ralph Lauren rugby shirts for $10 bucks and Red Wing boots for $30 bucks. The prices are reasonable but not cheap. ROR’s major injustice to its customers isn’t the buying, but the selling. Lowballing is a common practice and should be expected. Don’t contribute to Rag-O-Rama’s stylish cycle to get rich, do it for the next guy. more

Prices are creeping up... 3/22/2010

I've always been one to call Rag-O-Rama the ""Clothing Warehouse with thrift store prices,"" but I think that title is in need of a change. Last time I was in there it seemed like everything that I wanted was somehow closer to Stefan's pricing than Value Village. And yes, getting a pair of True Religion jeans for $30 is a good deal, but those same jeans would have been $15 at the Rag two years ago. And I get it, it was only going to be a matter of time before this became the go-to of L5P artists and the artistic clique in suburban high schools. I was just hoping (selfishly) those price points stayed at the bottom of the barrel. Kudos, however, for the great selection and nearly-guaranteed choice finds. Pros: Great selection of cool, vintage (well, 90's vintage) goods Cons: Used to be cheaper. more
