Great hangover breakfast! 9/16/2008

Yep, you're in Little Five the morning after...Radial is the place to be. The fresh orange juice and coffee starts you on a great journey into recovery. The food is good too! more

I go here every weekend! 8/19/2008

The brunch here is just fantastic and I have always loved anything I have gotten here. The vegetarian biscuits and gravy are amazing and I love the fact that mostly everything is organic. This restaurant is a green restaurant and really pushes to use fair trade products. The artwork is usually interesting and displays local artists. Also, there are several vegetarian options and every good restaurant takes that into consideration. I truly believe the people behind this restaurant care about their community and give back as much as possible. I will continue to go here as long as I live in Atlanta. Pros: Atmosphere, green restaurant, artwork, vegetarian options, brunch Cons: None- love it. more

Great Local Flavor with Interesting Artwork 11/18/2007

We love the local artwork and exposed brick walls. This atmosphere tends to attract a diverse mix of artists and city dwellers. Wood booths line a wall of windows overlooking the train tracks, while stools by the counter offer a view of the bustling open kitchen. The popular breakfast menu features pancakes, omelettes and hash. Southern-tinged specials include Cajun cheese grits, shrimp and grits, and red velvet pancakes. We enjoy the atmosphere and a mix of people that you see in very few really good breakfasr spots.\r more

So good, I went back the next day. 8/6/2007

I really like Radial. It's a great location with great atmosphere. There is limited indoor seating but they have a cute patio. The art that decorates the entrance and walls of the dining area is great! The staff is laid-back but sharp, and I have never had anything to complain about. The first time I tried radial, I went with a largish group for lunch. I wouldn't recommend that. The dining area is too small for a crowd. The kitchen is open, so you get to see the cooks working but you also get to listen to the usual kitchen noises, which makes it hard to try to hear the person at the other end of the table. On to the food: The menu isn't huge, but they know what they do well. I had the famous red flannel hash. Boy, was it good! Also greasy. It came with a side of toast and two eggs any style. I thought the service was decent, all things considered. The next morning I was still craving breakfast so I talked my other into heading back to Radial. It was a quiet weekday morning, and the character of the place was a lot more subdued. We found a quiet booth and had a nice private conversation over delicious eggs and bacon. I had to fend off more refills so we could get to work. In summation: Heavy, carb-laden meals are pretty much what's in store here, but if you like breakfast and if you like cool, artistic and friendly atmosphere it's definitley worth checking out. Pros: Atmosphere, food, friendly service Cons: not good for groups more

Below average at best 6/20/2007

After seeing many good reviews, my husband and I decided to try out Radial and sadly, we were very disappointed. First of all, we went in for a late lunch on a weekday and there weren't many people there, but it took almost 45 minutes to get our food. Ridiculous. When it finally came, the incompetent server had written down the wrong dish for my husband and then had to re-enter his order! She wrote it down and still got it wrong! She didn't apologize either. I had an omelette and it was boring and flavorless. The biscuit was good though. My husband's veggie biscuits and gravy dish was pretty good, but not the best he'd ever had. Our glasses stayed empty most of the time we were there until we finally pointed it out to our server. I hate having to point out the most obvious things to a server. Also, we asked for silverware and it never came so we had to go get it ourselves. Our server was just SLOW with everything.....add in the mediocre food and how long the kitchen took to prepare two very simple dishes and it made for a poor dining experience. We probably won't be back. Pros: Parking Cons: Food, service, ambiance more

Not as good as Cresent Moon...... 5/29/2007

My husband and I tried Radial yesterday for brunch. We became aware of it because it was voted #1 breakfast in Atlanta according to city search. We frequent Cresent Moon in Decatur. We were shocked to see that Cresent Moon was voted #7! We decided to try something new. The food was good--service very slow. We may try this restaurant again, but it will NEVER compare to Cresent Moon. I think the ratings should be switched. Cresent Moon #1, and Radial #7. Pros: parking, and near Litte 5 Points shopping Cons: terrible service. more

The worst dining experience ever! 3/2/2007

They dont care about the customers, one of the employees threatened me and tried to start a fight. This place is dangerous! Cons: The people are vulgar and tacky, there are safety hazards, employees dont care more

""The Brunch"" In Candler Park! 9/1/2006

All I can say, ""Radial"" rocks in Candler Park. We are always looking for the next great brunch spot, and this is it. In a little off-beat area on DeKalb Ave. in Candler Park, this place is a stand-out.\r \r Nice creative menu, that caters to everyone's tastes, including the vegans. Yes we can all eat together. I ordered the ""Red Flannel Hash"", corned beef hash, made by hand with large chunks of corned beef, and skillet potatoes tossed together. Got a side of Mexican grits, with fresh white corn, red peppers, and jack cheese on top of corn grits. Added a Vegeterian Biscuit, and I was in Brunch Heaven!\r \r Our server was outstanding, no attitude, and brought a smile to our faces. Is this where all the children of ""The Love Generation""have gone? If so, I want to drop in again, to see what condition, my condition is in! Pros: Creative Brunch Menu, "Love Generation" Service! more

our favorite brunch place! 7/14/2006

Love this place! The weekend brunch specials are like no other...tres yummy. But its also our favorite weekday brunch/lunch choice when our schedules allow. Like the groovy atmosphere and the service, too. Laidback, local and comfortable with great food...what's not to like? Pros: food, brunch special creativity, parking Cons: none except a short weekend wait (so choose a bar seat!) more

H3LL Yeah! Love this place. 6/28/2006

Friendly staff, great food, delicious coffee and low prices. What's not to love? Can't stand the weekend rush, then visit M-F for breakfast or lunch. The Radial has also improved their airconditioning and is about to open their expanded dining room and kitchen! Pros: Low prices, great food, convenient location. more

Consistently good to great brunch! 6/16/2006

As a semi regular for the last year and a half, the 'radial' keeps feeding me well. For example, today's, belgian waffle with pecan/praline & maple 'stuffing' was superb. The menu offers very good standard entrees that are greatly complemented by intriguing, delicious specials. Yes, it is busy, especially for weekend brunch, and, at those frantic times, cooking & service errors do sometimes happen, but, if you count this gem out after one weekend, busy visit, it is your loss. The inside dining room is pretty 'tight', table-wise, and busy=loud, but....the radial's food, mood etc. usually send me home satisfied. Pros: Quick, easy access. Cons: Hard to have relaxing brunch on busy weekends. more

Phenomenal French Toast Specials! 5/30/2006

I've been dining at Radial each weekend for roughly four months now, and I have yet to be disappointed. The French toast specials are amazing, and I don't think that they have been repeated a single time thus far; amazing! With a slightly crispy crust and soft center filled with cream cheese, the specials are highly recommended. For a great, casual breakfast that won't break the bank, this is the spot. I can't wait to see how the place looks once the expansion is complete.... Pros: specials menu, large patio, local atmosphere more

User review by walkongirl 5/18/2006

I just moved into Candler Park and found Radial. Lucky me... it's just a few blocks from my house! My first time in it took the server a little while to get to me, but she seemed pretty busy. I guess most good breakfast places are busy on weekend mornings. Once she brought my coffee, I was just fine :) (great coffee by the way) My food came after a few minutes, perfect scrambled eggs, yummy vegetarian sausage and a fluffy biscuit. I've been in twice more-sat on their patio with my friends... we all had a great time and good meals. Pros: food, big patio, location Cons: loud inside more

Yucky Saturday brunch 5/8/2006

I ate here May 6th for Saturday brunch and it was a very unpleasant experience! I ordered the so called buttermilk pancakes and they were very light and appeared to be uncooked. I decided to overlook the appearance and actually taste the pancakes. The pancakes had no flavor and tasted like a mouthful of dough. In addition to the ""light skinned"" and flavorless pancakes, I also ordered a side of bacon and eggs scrambled with cheese. The bacon was greasy, limp and uncooked and the eggs were cold with minimal to no cheese. Needless to say the entire breakfast was disgusting and the service was not attentive! Maybe they forgot to cook the food due to the large Saturday brunch crowd. Im still wondering how this place was voted Best Breakfast?? If you are looking for an establishment that serves uncooked brunch, then Radial is the perfect place for you! Pros: Cool artwork, Diverse crowd Cons: Uncooked food, poor service, horrible sweet tea more

Perfect 5/5/2006

A very interesting menu. Very diverse clientele. Plenty of vegetarian/vegan stuff for my girlfriend to eat with plecty of stuff for we carnivores.... Great food for a great price. Pretty easy to get a seat, even on the weekends. Even if there is a wait, it's worth it! Pros: Inexpensive, Delicious/Interesting, plenty of parking more

Stoked for 7 Years 4/21/2006

I heard Radial turned 7 this year...a regular since 2001, I bring family and friends in from out of town whenver they're here--they go away with a great impression of Atlanta because Radial is, well, so Atlanta. I go on my own too and always feel happy to have spent my weekend with good food and friends. Thanks for many great years of memories and awesome eats! more

Delish! 4/13/2006

My husband and I have a standing Monday morning brunch date and ever since we ""discovered"" Radial a couple of weeks ago, it is our favorite spot. It is always quiet and comfortable, with plenty of parking, very friendly and attentive staff and the best weekday brunch food we've found. We're vegetarians and we've never felt stifled by the options. I am sorry to hear about the other reviewer's bad french toast experience, because I had it this week and it was the best french toast I've had in years. Way to go Radial! more

Disappointing 4/9/2006

I went for the first time today with high expectations only to be let down. I ordered the Mom's French Toast and got the worse french toast I've ever had. Part of the bread was uncooked and soggy. I was thinking of ordering something else but the french toast quickly changed my mind. My waitress never asked me once how my food was of if I enjoyed my meal. Although, some of the other waitstaffed appeared to be more attentive to their customers. Needless to say I won't be returning. The best thing about the place was the free Wi-Fi. Pros: Inexpensive, Free parking, Free Wi-Fi more

Great Breakfast 4/1/2006

The breakfast at this laid back restaurant is fantastic. They always run great specials. Service is fast and friendly. A great way to start the day. more

A great disappointment... 12/16/2005

After seeing the high ratings on Citysearch last weekend I decided to give Radial a try. The wait was long, the hostess skipped over us on the list somehow, and we didn't get seated for almost an hour (after being told 20 minutes). Once we got seated, the service was slow, the atmosphere was loud, and when the food came it was well below my expectations. The eggs were cold and runny, the bacon was limp and pallid, and the potatoes were less than satisifying. All in all a great disappointment...I will not be returning. Pros: good parking Cons: loud, crowded, bad food more
