FAKE LISTING FROM REMS 5/3/2012

THEY ARE PRETENDING TO BE A DOCTOR TO GET BETTER RANKINGS THEY SAID! Any positive review on this place has to be made up. Specially the ones on Yellow pages they even said they have a company writing good reviews for them. This place is a fraud. I rented a place that was in shambles, floors where disgusting, walls had holes everywhere, mold in bathroom, bugs, filth in windows etc. REMS never even rented to me they took over a year plus later. The place that originally rented to me stated to feel out a form so I am not responsible. I filled out 3 pages and lived in the place for over 2 years and gave written and verbal 30 day notice. They said they never received written notice and I told the wrong person. Charging me cleaning fees and carpet cleaning for 200 more. This carpet was written on all stains etc. Also charged me for a key even though I provided to them. This place is a scam. We moved out of the 4-plex we were in because neighbors repeatedly got arrested for beating there w more

REMS said specifficaly that they had people put positive reviews on this place through an SEO company. PLACE IS FAKE! I am sure all the IP address's are the same. Any positive review on this place has to be made up. Specially the ones on Yellow pages they even said they have a company writing good reviews for them. This place is a fraud. Good to Rent From 4/25/2012

Overall, REMS has been a good company to rent from. They are to the point, and honest about everything which I think is hard to find in property management these days. more

Very Impressed 4/23/2012

As a resident manager at a REMS property, I can say that I am very impressed by their organization as a company. It's clear to me that they're working to improve things at the properties they manage. The leasing coordinator has been working hard to get us trained, and the handbook is very clear and helpful. I am very impressed by their efforts. more

Horibble Experience. Beware!!!! 4/20/2012

We had a house fire and rented a home from them and it has been a nightmare. I would advise anyone to stay away from this company. They charged us for items we wrote down before we moved in and the maintenance man moved our stuff out of the rental while we were still under contract. We stayed there for 2 months and they charged us $480 to clean the carpets and we removed our shoes during the 2 months. My opinion is they saw the insurance was paying for the rental and they made every effort to make sure the insurance did not see a penny of the $1100 deposit. Horrible experience. I am glad I am back in my own home. more

Big Mistake 4/12/2012

I hired a property management company to maintain my rental house because I wanted to be sure things were taken care of and I was paid on time. I used REMS as my property management company for 18 months (Aug '11-March '12) and it was a big mistake. It was not easy to be paid on time or correctly. On occasion when the tenants paid late, the $50 dollar late fee was incorrectly charged to me - this happened four times! In July 2011 there was a deposit error where another client's check was put into my account. The person in charge of accounting, Aimee, suggested that I remedy the situation. She wanted to give me the other client's bank account number so that I could transfer the funds. I gave REMS my banking information in confidence that it would be secure. It concerns me that she was going to be so casual with this information. For whatever reason no utilities were collected in Sept 2011. When the tenants gave their 30 day notice I decided I was done with REMS. I felt it was important for me to be in compliance with the contract I signed and give my 30 days written notice that I would not be using REMS after the current tenants finished their lease. After that they left me high and dry. When I complained that it was their responsibility to take care of the final inspection and move out, the owner emailed me this: ""Regarding the security deposit refund process, normally REMS takes care of all of this as your agent. However, it is my understanding you are no longer using our services or at least won’t be at the time this refund is due (30 days from move-out)."" Wow. So essentially I paid them until the 31st of March when the tenant moved out but they couldn't be bothered to finish the job. Even the tenants had poor things to say about REMS - that they received eviction notices even when they had paid on time. Looking over the final statement REMS charged the tenants a $50 late fee three different times even though they had paid by the 5th. In the end, even though it was a pain, I'm glad I handled the move out inspection and the refund of the tenant's deposit - I knew it was done right. I should have just done it all myself from the beginning. more

REMS does a great job for our HOA. We switched to them last year and we're glad we did. They keep up with all the violation letters we request to go out, and I love the fact they let us know when the warnings and fines have been issued! Keep up the great work!!!! more
