R J & G Collision & Automotive Repair

Went here after running over a manhole cover to repair the rear assembly of my SUV. Travis did a great job of finding a reasonably priced assembly so the repair came in about 20% under budget. They fixed the car -- all work was on the back end. But the front end lurched when I applied the brakes. As the problem was unrelated to the collision, I took the car in to my regular mechanic who told me the front rotors and brake pads needed replacing, at a cost of $375. \r \r I wanted RJ&G's opinion, & Travis agreed to look at the car. They told me the rotors did NOT need replacing, just machining and the brake pads were only at 50%, so they were fine. I get annoyed when mechanics fudge with me (maybe because I'm female.) So I asked the mechanic Mark to show me the rotors and he explained the process in a way that I felt he was being honest with me. They addressed the problem at no charge, machining the rotors although this was not related to the collision. Now the car handles beautifully. While there I learned that they do regular mechanical work too, not just body work. The fact that they were straight with me and extended the courtesy of repairing the front end at no charge made me feel I can trust them for future work, so I will return. And I highly recommend them. more

RJG Auto is a family run business and it shows. Travis and Christa actually care about their customers. I've taken both our cars there (minivan and sports car) and had great results each time. Their pricing is very reasonable and much lower than the dealership I used to go to. Even on a limited budget... they were able to advise me on the most critical repairs and the repairs that could wait. Its very hard to find a mechanic that you can trust... and RJG Auto has been a great find. I take all my cars there for both mechanical and collision work. more

The most recent experience with R.J.& G. Collision & Automotive Repair was when my car wouldn't start. They have worked on every car I have owned since I started living in the triangle. Being car illiterate I took it straight to them. They told me the starter was dead and ordered a new one. To get to the starter they had to remove my oil filter, and they noticed that my oil was jet black, not conducive to good oil. They suggested I get an oil change, which I did. I also had them do a bypass on the electrical startup interlock on my ignition. It has an extra piece, and if I bump it or knock it out of alignment the car doesn't start. I just had them bypass the whole thing so that I didn't have to worry about it anymore. I got my car back inside of a day. Everything seemed to be working better after the oil change and new starter. Monday morning I tried starting the car and it sputtered and died. I started it once more and the check engine light was on. When I took it into R.J.& G. it turned out that it was an issue unrelated to both previous problems. A temperature sensor for my electric transmission had gone bad. They went in and replaced it. They saved me money because with my type of car the dealership would have gone straight to replacing the computer. They did a little more work to figure out that it was my sensor, not my computer. It was so much less expensive, and they knocked it out for me in a day. They are really good at sticking to their estimates. They also only work on what they are authorized to do. They let me know if something else is not right, but they don't start working on it for a forced upsell. They are like no other car place I have ever worked with. From front to back they are super courteous. The paint, the body, and the mechanical work, I am always very pleased with everything they do for me. They are always upfront, very communicative, and very knowledgeable. They are a USAA star rated shop, which means the USAA thinks they walk on water. Thankfully I have USAA, so it is a double bonus for me. R.J.& G. Collision is all around fantastic; they have never done me wrong. Joe Kershner more

I have always had exceptional experiences with R.J. & G. Collision & Automotive Repair. I have not had a single bad experience. I may be fortunate, but every visit and every opportunity with them has gone extremely well. They have personalized service and are willing to go the extra mile. I have used them in the neighborhood of 20 to 25 years. I use them for my auto repair. They maintain my automobiles. I go in there for oil changes, brake jobs, and whatever routine or programmed maintenance is needed on my vehicle. I don't know what they charge at the dealer repair shops, but I think the prices are competitive. I am happy with the prices. I have the utmost confidence in them and the utmost confidence that they would do the right thing. I had an experience where they were working on my car, and they broke something else. They told me, fixed it, and explained it all to me. They didn't hold anything back or try to hide their mistake. They have always been open and straight forward. I don't feel like I have to gear up and prepare myself to deal with them. I feel comfortable dealing with them. They give their customers a sense of comfort. I don't worry that they are going to take advantage of their customers. They are trustworthy, and I am comfortable letting them work on something that means a great deal to me. more
