The best kennel and grooming anywhere 12/29/2011

Maybe the most helpful thing I can tell you is that I have been bringing my German Shepherd to Renegades for 4 years for boarding and grooming. If I even say ""Renegades"", or the names of Ron, or his assistant, Melissa, around the house, he gets incredibly excited. And when he's in the car and get close to Renegades, he can barely contain himself. That's how good Renegades is! I have boarded dogs at a number of kennels in multiple states over the years. Renegades is, by far, the best. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept, and the facilities are spacious, clean and efficiently run. Dogs are handled with their well-being in mind, and the owner, Ron, is a great guy who lives on the premises. His staff is friendly and courteous, and handles dogs with compassion and great care. I strongly recommend Renegades to anyone who needs day care, boarding or grooming for their dog. more

Trusted Kennel For Over 5 Years 2/3/2010

We have a sensitive white shepherd/golden retriever mix. I did my homework on kennels in the area before choosing RB Renegade. A person employed there told an acquaintance that this was the cleanest kennel in the area. So, before placing our 10-month old puppy at RB Renegade for her first time, I toured the kennel and spoke with Ron, the owner. I found the facility to be well-run and clean also very pet-friendly and accommodating for dogs as well as cats. When my dog had diarreaha due to the stress of being away from us, Ron got her treatment and he informed me of this. The next several times our dog spent at RB Renegade I called and spoke with Ron to see how she was doing. I brought treatment for potential diarreaha each stay until she was older and used to being kenneled and the phase passed.\r \r An owner should know their pet and what their individual pet's needs are. I have always found RB Renegade very willing to work with me and my pet. This is the only place we kennel and groom our dog because there is a bond now between her and this facility. She is kenneled here once or twice a year for over 5 years now.\r \r RB Renegade offers play times and walks for dogs. Dog owners should pay a little more to make sure their precious pets do not get bored and have an outlet from the stress of not being at their own homes. RB Renegade also allows owners to bring an indestructable toy or rawhide type of bone for their pets stay to relieve boredom. I have read a comment stating a dog chewed its tail. This is a sign of stress. Did this dog owner bring a toy or rawhide type bone for their pet in order to help with the separation anxiety?\r \r There was another comment regarding dogs were covered in feces. Dogs are kept in clean kennels that have either mats or off the floor beds. If a dog had feces on itself, then the dog somehow didn't understand the kennel schedule yet and maybe had an accident inside the kennel area and possibly stepped in its own feces. But, these inside kennels are checked when the dogs are let out before feedings, so I'm confident the feces was cleaned up. The owners just didn't think to have their dog groomed the very last day of its stay. That is important because each dog handles being away from its owners differently.\r \r I did read something about a golden retriever that had some sort of problem whereby it may have needed to be euthenized. Again, I just feel that owners should understand the health of their individual pets. If there is a special condition of your pet, this needs to be released to any kennel facility. If a condition is such that an older dog may not do well any longer in a kennel situation, then an owner should find an alternative placement of their beloved pet with friends or family or just not go on vacation at all.\r \r I'm a responsible pet owner and find that working with RB Renegade with my dog's unique nature and individual needs has formed not only a great relationship between dog owner and kennel owner, but continues to create happy and healthy stays for my wonderful pet year after year. Pros: Professional, Accommodating, Friendly, Trusting Cons: Not Open on Sundays for Pickups :) more

Save your Pet's Life DO NOT USE 8/12/2009

I cannot recommend this company for dog kenneling as they don’t contact you incase of an emergency. End result our beloved Golden Retriever had to be euthanized. If you would like a copy of RB’s letter to us acknowledging were they noticed a “…abrasion on one of her elbows with a scab on it. The scab fell off sometime during grooming. Shortly thereafter an odor was noticed from the abrasion. Upon further examination, RB’s staff noticed one of her elbows had a small amount of pass that had begun to emit from the wounded area…” For details and a copy of their letter send an email to :dont_use_rb_renegades@wi.rr. Cons: They don't communicate more

Excellent kennel and groomers 5/16/2009

This is a GREAT place! We've been bringing our German Shepherd to RB Renegades for a year. He goes there for day care 5 days a week and is boarded there when I go out of town on business. He's also been groomed there about 6 times. The owners keep the kennels incredibly clean, are complete animal lovers. Show up out of the blue and ask for a tour and you will see what I mean. Also, going there twice a day, I have to say I have seen many dogs come and go from Renegades, and NEVER seen a dog with anything like the issues Petlover13 described, or the place look anything less than top quality. Pros: Animal lover owners; whistle clean kennels; great grooming more

Do not board your dogs here 5/4/2009

I let my two precious dogs stay there while we went away for the weekend. They both came back covered in dog feces. One of my dogs had been chewing at her tail and portions had no hair on it. When I spoke with the owner after the fact, he told me I should have paid for a post kennel bath. And i shoudl have brought them back in for a bath. They completely neglected my dogs when they were there and then expected me to bring them back. They both needed two baths before they could even come in the house. The owner, Ron, is beyond rude and condescending, i will make sure no one I know ever brings their sweet dogs to that hell. more

King of the Kennels 6/28/2006

My two little pekingese are like my own children and leaving them somewhere is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Due to out of state trips for work last year we were put in the position to find a place to board our two babies. Recommended by our vet I decided to give RB Renegades a try. When we dropped the dogs off they took us on a tour of the kennels so we could see where they would be staying. The Kennels were Extremely clean! The staff is exceptional with our dogs. They are probably more spoiled by them than they are by us. Now when we want to take off for the weekend or just for a day trip we take them to the ""Doggie Spa"" and let them get pampered. Pros: They treat your pet like one of the family more

Excellent care for your pet, worth the trip. 4/4/2006

Not fancy, just good clean kennels with wonderful people. Although not a frilly place and quite a drive for us, it is worth it. There is no other place that is as caring, professional and knowledgable. We do not worry a bit about our precious pets when they are at Renegade's. I have never seen a kennel so clean, even when we drop in and pick up our dogs unexpectededly - it is sooo clean. Wonderful place and wonderful value. more
