I've eaten from here like three times and wasn't real impressed any timeIt's mediocre at best, but my friends seem to love it. 've noticed eac tiem I've called an order in that they ask for the name of the person but don't write it on the ticket and when you get there they don't know what you ordered. more

Mediocre, at best 4/26/2007

Why anyone would go to Galveston for barbecue is beyond me. And Queen's just makes the point. Queen's is an average barbecue joint. It doesn't compare favorably with the joints in Central Texas. When I had lunch there, they served the brisket already covered in sauce. Who does that? Sauce should always be on the side. Even with the sauce, the brisket was dry and hard to swallow. All the fat had been removed. It was like eating compressed sawdust. With good barbecue, you don't need sauce. The ribs were OK but bland and almost cold. The beans were good but the potato salad lacked flavor. Places like Kreuzes in Lockhart, Louie Mueller's in Taylor, the Ironworks in Austin, even Rudy's in Central Texas are much better. more

Incredible BBQ! 3/21/2006

I have eaten barbeque all over the south and Queen's is up there with the best of them. The pink smoke ring on the brisket forewarns you of the incredible smoke flavor of the meat, complimented perfectly by their homemade bbq sauce. The brisket stuffed bake potatoes are great as well. More recently, I have been hooked on their Tejas Chicken, a huge smoked chicken breast, a couple of slices of smoked ham, with pepper jack cheese, bbq sauce on a jalepeno cheese bun. Incredible sandwich and a meal all by itself. The pecan cobbler with homemade vanilla ice cream is irrestible as well. Pros: Food, Price, service Cons: parking more

Best Chipped Beef Sandwiches 9/12/2005

Queen's BBQ first came to my attention at a catered reception. It was not the typical brisket I have eaten on so many such occasions but was bursting with flavor as well as being tender 7 hot. When I found out who the caterer was, I began fequenting Queens when in Galveston and consistently find the chopped beef sandwiches on the large, fresh hamberger bun to be the best I have ever eaten Pros: Good food, Reasonable price Cons: Atmosphere more

Horrible BBQ 7/21/2005

This place is the worst bbq i've ever had. The employees although friendly managed to mess up my order twice despite the fact there were only 5 people in the restaurant. The ribs were literally microwaved then put on my plate. The sauce, which is particulary bad even for generic bbq sauce, drowned out the loq quality of the meat. If you think McDonalds makes a good hamburger, then you'll think Queens makes good food. Pros: plenty of seating Cons: the food, the service, the sauce more

Delicious BBQ 8/5/2002

After having visited many BBQ places both in Texas and around the nation, I know that Queen's BBQ is absolutely delicious. My favorite is the chop BBQ beef baked potato. It is a large, steaming fully cooked potato with ample fixings and delicious, tender chopped BBQ beef. The sauce is absolutely delicious and the peach cobbler can't be beat!
