Quality Inn & Suites South Bend Airport

Our room was very clean and in better condition than expected - there were no stains, rips, dents, etc. in the furniture or carpet. I don't remember the last time we stayed at a hotel that didn't have some kind of stains or blemishes.\r \r This was the warmest indoor pool I can remember - the last time I experienced a warm pool was over 30 years ago! Most hotels seem to turn off the heater in slow times or keep it at a minimum. While we had to ask the front desk to turn on the lights every time we used the pool and to ask for towels, I can understand trying to save money. I'd rather have them turn off the lights when not in use than have them turn down the heat.\r \r The breakfast was the normal free hotel breakfast but the area was really clean. It was the smallest breakfast area we've seen for the size of the hotel and we were worried about getting a seat. However, it was almost empty when we went down (granted, it was a slow day at the hotel).\r \r This might seem like a small issue, but having the air conditioning/heat control with a ""no constant fan""option was a big plus. While the constant fan can act as white noise, we find it more of a nuisance than a help.\r \r The location was not great in that it was tucked behind another hotel and sandwiched by that hotel and a gas station. The whole town of South Bend was a lot scarier than expected so there really is no good place to put a hotel (except for right near all the college campuses).\r \r Overall, given that South Bend was a lot less desirable a town than expected, this was a great hotel that is clean and in good shape. I would recommend it to others - the price we had was quite good. more

We were at quality inn for hockey tournament. We enjoyed our stay , good breakfast, nice clean heated pool,i am fitness person, surprisingly fitness center was much much better than mid scale hotels, i am impressed with fitness center, more

one night stay, clean room, nice breakfast, very helpful employees. Rate was high on weekend of the Notre Dame football game, but cheaper than other similar places in South Bend. Overall it is a good spot. more

The goodwill hard work of the staff makes this a fantastic clean hotel to stay at the breakfast is great after a night of football the shuttle 21 makes it easy to avoid traffic on game days this is an excellent hotel the wife and husband who run things are friendly and organized and helped us get all we might out of this trip to see the Irish play! more

This hotel was clean and easy to find off the highway. We were just needing one night on our way out west so the price was right. The hall noises were loud but people tend to forget other people are trying to sleep late at night. Breakfast was fine and the staff was friendly and helpful. more

Just passing through, our stay here was good -- clean, friendly (especially the man at the desk who recommended Fiddler's Hearth for dinner) so no complaints. A very comfortable bed, soft pillows, quiet, and again: clean (an absolute must)\r \r But this was totally worth the stop for the swimming pool alone: bathtub warm, large and delightfully empty while we were there. No hot tub (nor a 100' water slide which we septuagenarians thoroughly enjoyed at another hotel) but not necessary. A calm, relaxing end to our travel day. more

I must say this was an enjoyable stay. The room was clean and quite. Breakfast area was clean and all choices were full. Staff was pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional. Shuttle from airport was on time and very quick. This was a great experience. Thank you! more

Best price overall, & the breakfast buffet is the best. So many places advertise continental breakfast, this Quality Inn has a full breakfast buffet, both hot/cold, even our fussy eater loves making his own mini waffles. Close to the turn pike, airport, etc. Always so clean & the staff is very friendly. more

Very clean and well maintained. Friendly staff and accommodating. I had a small dog and they worked with me to get me a room away from others so the noise from other rooms didn't set off my dog. Easily accessible by the highway. Restaurants and gas very near by. My ONLY complaint would be the pillows, they were so soft that I had to use all four of them to sleep on because they just melted underneath you more

The room and condition of the hotel overall was between good and excellent. Good accommodations for the price. Customer service was lacking. I had forgotten my toothbrush and also a comb. Both times I was told I would have to come down to the desk to pick up these items. Oddly, the excuse was that front desk did not have any help and could not leave to bring the items to my room. But whenever I would pass the front desk, he was nowhere in sight. (??) In addition, my car would not start at check-out. It was a Sunday AND New Year's Day. The hotel did not provide a list of recommendations. I was from out of town and this is not acceptable customer service. Although after requesting the front desk search online for a 24-hour car service business, which he did without hesitation, good customer service would have offered as soon as the problem presented itself. Going the extra mile is what customer service is all about. more

After a long day of travel, my daughter and I stopped at this facility. We found it to be clean; the room was spacious; the beds comfortable and the breakfast was certainly adequate. If we return to this area, we would patronize them again. more

The shuttle makes it easy to avoid traffic on game days and it is a short drive to ND.This is an excellent hotel. I stayed there one night. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. They had fresh coffee and the eggs and sausage were about as good as they can be when sitting in a warmer! It's within a ten minute drive to Notre Dame's campus, but is also on the way in and out of town from Chicago. more
