I know times are difficult for everyone...but my 4 + years as a loyal customer...it is worth the expense, if you can afford it...PIL also works with you if you communicate what your needs are. They do not take advantage of you, like many other place do! Most importantly....I have found, Jen, my stylist..and Aly, for facials and waxing...listen to what YOU want as a customer...they truly listen and comprehend. that is so rare. I have been battling breast cancer for several years and they have been so kind and attentive at every visit. As professionals, they know how to deal with the side-effects of my treatments...I know I am safe and cared for when I am there. I don't need to explain myself. What a joy! My hair has survived and truly looks beautiful because of PIL. My 2 daughters also utilize their services and love them, as well. My daughter had been deployed to combat. PIL was kind enough to donate a large quanity of lovely hair care products to the female troops within my daughters detachment while she was there. As my daughter said upon receiving the items...""thank them, mom, please, thank them...we feel like girls again, just for a minute"". As anyone with a deployed child knows, just knowing they had a moment of joy or a smile on their face, is everything, over there, because they live second by second, minute by minute... My husband purchased offers from a radio station for this salon. He thought it would be nice for me and my daughter to go together.\r \r I made sure to say I had the offers from the radio station when I made my appointments. Sometimes there are conditions on those offers. No conditions, I could come on a Saturday with no problem.\r \r I loved my haircut and my daughter's hair looked very nice too. \r \r When I presented the coupon the woman at the register wasn't sure how to process it. She kept asking for help. One question at a time. It took just about as long to check out as it did for the hair cut. \r \r The other service I had booked was a facial, as suggested on the coupon. Well, no you can't have that on a Saturday. They also told me they hadn't booked me for a Saturday for that service. I didn't have my appontment card on me so I couldn't say, yes you did. I went back on an evening for the facial.\r \r When I walked in for my appointment, there was a young girl's party there so there were many girls with no supervision squealing about the salon and touching the makeup with no supervision. The facial area is right near the register - hardly ideal for a relaxing facial. During my facial, someone knocked on the door which was bad enough, but for the woman to have stopped my facial to answer it, really put me off. She also used a small tool that had a very, very small current of electricity on me with no warning. \r \r When I went to check out, it turned out that the facial was more than the coupon price, and not one person had told me. I felt this was deceptive because the coupon suggested a facial. Don't suggest it if the price is more.\r \r I've never gone back and have no intention of ever going back. The salon was not the high end that the owner was hoping for. Just because you charge a lot of money does not make you a high end salon. more

My daughter and I have been going to Public Image for over 3 years, my stylist is Kelly and I love him!!! As a single mom, their student pricing makes it affordable for me. This month my youngest daughter recently had her hair and makeup done for her junior prom, she was soooo happy. I knew she would be, her stylist was awesome and her pictures look beautiful!! I have never seen a salon so busy doing prom hair before, with four makeup people, it was a little crazy. The salon had an area for parents to relax and was serving beverages, I thought that was nice. My daughter was finished right on time. I guess if you are getting a haircut, I would avoid prom day. Outside of prom the salon is very relaxing, with really nice girls. more

I have been going to PI on and off for 10 years. I will admit, everyone is very friendly and makes you feel they are happy that you are there. But I really don't think the price is worth it at all!! I will also admit that sometimes my hair cuts and dye looks better than the ""cheaper"" places. But the difference isn't worth the price!! I finally found a place that is close to making my hair look great and much cheaper!!! At PI its close to $100.00 for dye and blow out!! I am now going to a place for $68.00 and only 1 person does everything so I don't have to tip 3 people. Also, charging $40.00 for a blow out is way too expensive! I get charged $27.00 for the SAME look after I get it blown out. I also noticed that most of the people there have an atttude, and it has gotten worse. Take the time to find a ""cheaper"" place that will do the SAME job! If you don't care about spending lots of money, this is the place for you. I work too hard to be spending sometimes double the price.. The girl that does the waxing is very good too, but, its almost $30.00 JUST for eyebrows!! I dont know many people that can afford that!! I can get my eyebrows and lips waxed for $20.00 and it looks the SAME. more

I started going to Public Image about 3 years ago; what a great salon experience. Everyone makes you feel so special. My stylist is Faith and I love her and what she has done to make me look and feel great. The color room is really nice; while I was getting my highlights I watched a dancing with the stars segment. Stylist have their own TV commercial sots about hair styles and products looped in, that was pretty cool. They really make the time to keep you informed. If you like being pampered by professionals I recommend this salon. more

I heard this place would be great but it wasnt at all. everyone there except of my hairdresser were all mean. All those girls had such a bad attitude and Im sorry but if I have to be there for a few hours to get my hair done I dont want to be somewhere that I feel so uncomfortable. They truly were all bitches. I was getting nasty looks the whole time. Plus I was told a price at first and then it was 100$ more then what I was told before they started working on me. They lied. It was so expensive I lied to my boyfirend about how much it was or he would have yelled at me. DONT GO THERE. you can get the same thing done anywhere else much cheaper. Any salon is better then this one. Again if you have to be there for a few hours dont go or you will leave pissed off as I did. this salon is not worth it. go somewhere else. Bad attitudes and too expesive. worst salon in wayne. all the reviews of this salon isn't good so please make sure you go somewhere else. these people are not nice. it was the biggest waste of money and there was nothing special. so this salon is over-priced, bad attitudes to the point you are uncomfortable, and they dont even do a great job. my hair was just ok. I have not gotten a better haircut anywhere in the area, and I've tried a lot of salons, which is why I pay the extra price to come here. You will get an EXCELLENT haircut, especially if you want something different and you are not quite sure what you want. The only drawbacks are that you have to make your appointment way in advance, and it is pricy for the area -- but well worth it. My hair is MUCH easier to style and looks 1000% better for the whole time between cuts than with any other salon. I originally went with the owner b/c my friend knew her, but I ended up switching to her daughter Faith, as she was a little less expensive for the same quality, and had more rapport w/her b/c are the same age. Pros: haircutters up on modern styles, nice salon! Cons: pricy, a little uppity, hard to get appt. more

I was extremely pleased with my first cut and scheduled my next appt. 6 weeks in advance as recommended. Excitedly I showed up for my 2nd appt. to find out they did not have me listed for that day or any other day, eventhough I did have an appt. card from them. They were unable to accommodate me for that day and said I should have called in advance to confirm the appt. if I had not heard from them! Somehow it appeared the blame was shifted onto me. Their solution was to put me on a cancellation list, which did not do anything for me, because I needed their services that day and had planned my day around it. I did get a call the following day as an appt. was available, but I declined and will not be going back due to their below average customer service. I started going to Public Image in the beginning of 2006, and my first few experiences were good until the person cutting my hair got a tad upset at me that I did not refer a friend to them (due to conflicting schedules) which my friend had to schedule with someone else. It created an awkward situation. Since I did not feel like getting lectured I switched to a different person within Public Image and have had great experiences ever since. I love the atmosphere, the people are very nice and cater to you. The only thing I find negative about the place is that they are not open on Monday's, just Tuesday - Saturday. I am new to the area and heard great things about this salon. The salon was beautiful, very clean?the staff was warm and friendly. My trendy stylist spent a lot of time discussing my styling options during the initial consultation. I actually tried a style I would have never considered?and I am extremely happy with the results. It takes 4-6 weeks for an appt, even if your a longtime client & being overbooked as in a two hour appt turns into 4 hrs while they do 3 cuts in between, they have a tech put the color on your hair so get ready to tip (3) people Tech, Shampooer and your Dresser. Its Very pricey $ and lacking in customer appreciation and service. They have client referral bonus plan have referred 4 people still have not rec'd any free services as promised.
