I was referred to this vet at the time of purchase of my toy poodle. She was seeing the vet for about 5 months before her scheduled spaying. My boyfriend and I figured she would b...

Very caring, explain things well, do not charge outrageous fees like other vets. 7/31/2012

I took my dog in to Progressive Animal Hospital because he had a cyst on a lymph node. Doctor Frishman was very good at explaining everything, including all the tests they were running and what fees were for. They wanted to test whether the cyst was malignant, which it was, and I will be going back to have the cyst removed. They are very caring and I would definitely recommend them. more

Dog loves going to this vet 7/30/2012

The first time I went to Progressive Animal Hospital I had changed from another vet. I have a Shih Tzu and she's very sensitive to medications and they could care less. Dr. Frishman is very different. He is very caring. When we got there he helped us by hydrating her. He made us very aware of flee and tick medications and he did a drop test first, to see if she would have an allergic reaction. He really pays attention and he's very caring. He definitely keeps in mind her sensitivities. more

Very pleased with the information the doctor gives us. 7/7/2012

Very kind to our dog, doesn't push a lot of unnecessary treatments or goods. more

Compassionate, respectful, and good listeners. 7/3/2012

I found that Progressive Animal Hospital was very helpful with my dog. My dog had issues with my old vet, and they were very helpful in getting us in as quickly as they could. They were very helpful in getting my dog right on track, listening to me, and finding out what hadn't been heard before. With out last vet, we went a year and a half with the wrong diagnosis. Progressive Animal Hospital got everything straightened out in short order. They were helpful in a way we had not been helped before, and my dog has improved quite a bit. more

Fantastic vet, personable, great service. 7/2/2012

They're just the nicest people, and as far as I have seen, they have very good service. Progressive Animal Hospital is a great vet, and everything's good. I have no complaints. more

An overall positive experience. 6/29/2012

I found Progressive Animal Hospital to be extremely compassionate, considerate, and very practical. They were not trying to oversell any services and products. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. more

Very good experience, friendly, warm pet environment. 6/25/2012

Everybody at Progressive Animal Hospital is really nice. They are helpful and good at explaining things. My vet takes his time, and I don't feel like I'm being rushed out. The facilities are clean. Their recommendations are always conservative. I never feel like they are just recommending things to get money from me. I just recently took my dog back for another treatment. more

Best Vet in the Hudson Valley 6/20/2012

I travel almost an hour each way to see Dr Frischman and staff and have had nothing but great experiences with them. They have treated both of my elder dogs for years using traditional and holistic approaches when needed. more

Very pleasant and accommodating. 4/26/2012

I had an emergency with my housecat, and they took time out of their schedule to see the cat. It pulled through, so I'm happy. more

They helped us with our cat. 4/25/2012

Our cat has head problems so we went to Progressive Animal Hospital so that they could examine the cat. They told us that there was no infection, it's just an old age cat. more

Diligent, thorough services with very reasonable pricing 4/23/2012

Our family has visited a lot of diff veterinarian groups, and we find the care at Progressive Animal Hospital to be very thorough and very reasonably priced. They really talked us through all of our options and aren't so quick to recommend extreme choices, instead they take a slow, cautious approach. We have found them very diligent, they are responsive to our calls, are very helpful, and we will continue to use them. We have been using them about 6 months and very satisfied. more

Excellent Vet & Staff 3/26/2012

"Luna, my much loved 9 year old, 90+ lb., Lab mix woke up one morning when she was only 6 years old with a mild limp. I immediately made an appointment with the vet who was treating her at that time. He examined her and said that he didn?t see anything and he suspected a mild sprain. By that evening, she could no longer get up. When I was finally able to lift her up, she was unable to walk. What followed was a several months long search for answers as to what was wrong with her and what we could do to help her. She was put through innumerable tests and procedures and heavily dosed with steroids and other medications. None of the tests indicated what was wrong with her and the medications were allowing her to move, but just barely and with awful, horrible side effects. I was basically told to give up on her and that ?some dogs just don?t respond?.\r \r It was from there that my search for help led me to Dr. Frishman and Progressive Animal Hospital. Horrible place 3/23/2012

I just got left Progressive Animal Hospital in tears after Dr. Frishman yelled at me about how my dog died under HIS care when he only came in for a bloody ear. Two years ago, Dr. Frishman gave my dog a sedation to drain his puss filled ear. I live one mile from the hospital. Half way home, he got the bandage off and his ear was bleeding again. My mother turned around and Dr. Frishman gave my dog a second dose of sedatitives. It happened to be the Friday of Memorial Day weekend and at this point it was after hours and the staff was itching to leave. They told my mother instead of waiting here for him to wake up, why don't you let him sleep it off and pick him up in the morning. The next morning my mom went to pick him up. Went in the back w/ the assistant saying "Bailey, Bailey" Bailey was dead in his cage. GET THIS - the next phone call my mother gets is from Dr. Frishman's WIFE asking for MORE MONEY because now they had to dispose of Bailey!!!! I didn't realize this when I went to more

Excellent, warm, and caring service 3/23/2012

Progressive Animal Hospital provides veterinary services for my dog. In the past they removed a few major cysts from him and he healed very quickly. They have also done excellent teeth cleaning for him. One of the best things about Progressive Animal Hospital is that when I call and leave a message they get back to me very quickly, even on the weekends. more

Worst place ever 3/23/2012

GET THIS - the next phone call my mother gets is from Dr. Frishman's WIFE asking for MORE MONEY because now they had to dispose of Bailey!!!! I didn't realize this when I went to speak with him today. Nonetheless, he was screaming and cursing at me that I was calling him a malicious dog killer which I never did. I merely asked for an explanation as none was given to my mother, nor an apology or condolence. He couldn't give me an explanation. They have no records other than he is deceased. He told me what he believes happened. He constantly contradicted himself. He couldn't get past that fact that I was coming in ""two years later...over a dead dog!"" I happened to be living in Florida and this is the first chance I got, thankyouverymuch. Plus my mother has been absolutely DISTRAUGHT. But I NEVER expected him to act like this. He was arguing with me for about 5 mins before he would start his explanation. It almost seems like he has a mental illness. He was out of control. But turning it all around like it was my fault or something. He couldn't deal with this situation for some reason. Contradictions like - dogs don't die here regularly so I remember this dog. Then its dogs die here all the time, but I don't do autopsies on them. They are sick. I was asking why if a perfectly healthy dog other than a bloody ear died under your supervision, wouldn't you want an autopsy for you? For your records? As a Dr.? He said it costs $1,000 and he has kids to feed. Funny, I looked him up and he lives in Chappaqua. Beyond the point. Others were he couldn't remember specifics because it was 2 years ago. Then all of the sudden he remembered clearly. Like at the very end of our convo, he remembered clearly that my dog was awake before he left. He also remembers clearly how he spent hours on the phone with my mother, CRYING WITH HER. That is B.S. And he called my mother a liar. This man is completely unprofessional and I would never trust a plant to be under his care much less a beloved breathing creature who had his whole life ahead of him. My dog Bailey came in with a hemotoma. He left in a body bag. Heed my warning about this hospital. Bailey takes a sedative every time he goes to the vet. He doesn't have allergies to it. It was that he was given 2 doses within an hour or a couple hours. The doctor should have known that and at least stayed with him until he was awake, alive and well. And I am sure he will try to discredit me as well. I have been a paralegal my whole life and my mother is a top executive at IBM. We get nothing out of doing this. She is so distraught she still can't talk about it. I just want my story out there for you to read so you can make an educated decision. more

My Dog 3/22/2012

My dog get the best care from Progressive Animal Hospital. They are great with him and the front desk. Everybody there is so nice and willing to help you with anything. I would not change anything about them. Great job more

I am really excited and relieved that I found them. 3/22/2012

I am a very experienced dog owner. I had cared for a completely disabled animal for 13 years. Now I have a new puppy. Progressive Animal Hospital uses the best of western and integrative (holistic) medicine. They are willing to make use of whatever modality is going to help, in a commmon sense way. My sense is that he makes use of what makes sense, and doesn't throw out the use of western meds, just lowers the doses. I feel that I have somebody that I can work with, that has a good head on his shoulders. He is making use of what is out there that will work best for the animal, and is least invasive. more

By Far the Best Choice in Veterinary Care! 3/18/2012

Dr. Andrew Frishman and staff (Matt, Debbie, Dina) are truly provide the most caring, professional and helpful veterinary service around. We have used many different vets through the years and they are the best that I have ever used. We were recommended to them after my 13 year old dog, Vinny, couldn't move his back legs. We thought he would never walk again, but through accupuncture treatments he is so much better! Progressive Animal Hospital's alternative medicine approach is a refreshing alternative from vets who simply prescribe medicine and recommend operations. And their fees are very reasonable too. You also sense that they really care about each family and pet in a very special way. The only vet we will ever use! more

Holistic veterinary care at its best! 3/7/2012

We sought out Dr. Frishman because we believe in a combination of Eastern and Western medicine that uses pharmaceuticals as sparingly as possible and in conjunction with alternative methods, such as acupuncture. The entire staff is loving and caring. more
