"Luna, my much loved 9 year old, 90+ lb., Lab mix woke up one morning when she was only 6 years old with a mild limp. I immediately made an appointment with the vet who was treating her at that time. He examined her and said that he didn?t see anything and he suspected a mild sprain. By that evening, she could no longer get up. When I was finally able to lift her up, she was unable to walk. What followed was a several months long search for answers as to what was wrong with her and what we could do to help her. She was put through innumerable tests and procedures and heavily dosed with steroids and other medications. None of the tests indicated what was wrong with her and the medications were allowing her to move, but just barely and with awful, horrible side effects.
