What a Joke! 2/21/2008

I cannot believe someone actually spoke to Sonya (414) 847-3705. I have been calling her for the last 4 weeks leaving message after message regarding a ticket I don't remember ever getting and I haven't gotten one return phone call yet. Their name should be UNprofessional Account Screw-ups!!! Cons: Unprofessional more

Take Action, These Folks Need to Be Put Out of Business! 1/30/2008

PART 1 of 2: PAM calls me claiming there are 4 DC parking tickets they claim are for my car, but I moved away from DC 8 months before the supposed dates of issue. They put 4 black marks on my Experian credit report, making my score go from mid 700s to mid 600s. They make rude harassing phone calls week after week to my home. I have asked them repeatedly to send me any written documentation whatsoever of the alleged tix, and they refuse, so there is no evidence these tix are even related to my car. I left several messages on a ""supervisor's"" voice mail demanding they stop the calls and remove tix from my credit report, and finally I threatened legal action for violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Fair Debt Collection Act. I also disputed the items with Experian. I ran credit report on 1/27 and had low score, but as of today score went up by about 85 points. Cons: They will ruin your credit without any notice or evidence more

Another Victim. 1/30/2008

I contacted my mortgage guy last week to ask about refinancing my home. He pulled my credit and lo and behold, I have FOUR collections items from PAM all dated September, 2007. What the heck? It has taken me 5 years to rebuild my credit after a bad divorce and out of nowhere, my credit is now ruined. I have been seething since last Sunday but finally got the energy to contact PAM. I was informed that they have me listed for four different parking or speeding tickets that I have never ever heard of. I asked for documentation and they had none to offer. I told them that I planned to investigate through DC govt and they told me that if I pay the tickets to DC, I would not get credit for them. They also said that even if I pay the $800 that they say I owe, they still would not remove them or update my credit report. This is a scam. I am so depressed right now. I hope DC gets off their ducks about this. I am an honest taxpayer. No criminal record. A decent working citizen. This just makes me feel so ill. There is no justice for those who do the right thing. If anyone has advice for me, please let me know. Pros: Aggressive Cons: Devious more

PAM says it will be removed 1/30/2008

I spoke to a manager at PAM this morning (Sonya). Tele# 414-847-3705. She said that as of today (supposedly), DC Gov't has decided to delist all collections listings on people's credit reports (as long as you have paid the ticket). She says it is supposed to be a complete removal (not marked as paid or closed), but it may take some time before the credit agencies remove it. My advice would be to keep checking your credit report to see if it has in fact been removed COMPLETELY. I am still filing a complaint with the FTC though, mainly because the rep I spoke to before the mgr said that they never sent me any written notification of this ticket from Jan 2007 ONLY phone calls that were not answered. HELLO, with all of the telemarketing calls that we get, is it a surprise that I didn't answer!!?? Anyway, I thought this may be helpful to others. Pros: There may be a light at the end of the tunnel Cons: All of the hoops we had to jump thru to get some type of resolution more

Unreal- This whole scheme is flippin unreal 1/26/2008

I do agree with everyone who's written on this topic. It's the DC Government's fault. How else are you going to make up for the $20 Million dollars some idiots embezzled? I personally had tickets that I THOUGHT I had paid. I work in DC all of the time, and most of my tickets came from broken meters. You know, the ones you FINALLY find a spot to park in, you then deposit your change you have into it, only to have the damn thing not register! EFF the whole Parking Meter system. I found these two little dandy collections reports after trying SOLIDLY to rebuild my credit. I was at a 720 and getting better every few months. Then BAMMO! I am down to a 615..........THANKS ASSHOLES.......I've since PAID them their f*cking $200, and CANNOT get this removed. more

Everyone file a complaint with the FTC. More individual complaints get the FTC's attention to PAM's pattenr of practices. 1/25/2008

Don't waste time w/ the better bus. bureau - PAM is in violation of Fair Credit Reporting Act & Fair Debt Collect Practices Act - FTC prosecutes violations of them. more

Botched embezzlement and laundering attempt Part 2 1/25/2008

The DC government officials did an audit of the DMV system and saw that there was a multitude of past-due items due the DC government. The government officials met secretly to discuss what would be the best way to resolve this matter. They could just write this money due to the DC government as a charge-off and move on. Because in essence this is money that was really never accounted for so it is money that is not really missed. And so that?s what they did. Then they contacted PAM, half-way around the country and said that if you collect this money due to us because we don?t have the time or resources we will give you half the money you collect off the books or no record. And this went on for some time. Then Mayor Fenty comes into office and sends a warning to all agency head under DC government and says ship up or get shipped out. And to CTA (cover their anuses) they had PAM ensure they have at least placed the contents of the database containing all individuals with supposedly due money to the DC Government into the credit reporting bureaus to CTA. To make a long not so well put together story short THE DC CORRUPT GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WITH A HAND IN THIS BOTCHED UP AN ATTEMPT TO EMBEZZLE AND LAUNDER MONEY. I guarantee your net worth that they assumed they could come up with a plan to steal what they thought was unaccounted for funds. Not only should Professional Accounts Management be held liable the corrupt DC government officials need to be sniffed out and dealt with accordingly! Please forward this to the news stations, radio stations (WTOP) and Washington Post. Pros: If enough individuals join in on a class action suit could be filed. Cons: None. We have nothing to lose and something to gain! more

They are liars and lawbreakers 1/25/2008

I have sent NUMEROUS detailed letters to this company disputing the validity of their alleged ""debt,"" notifying them they should not call me on the phone, and informing them of my correct address. Nevertheless they continue to call me several times per week, in violation of the Fair Debt Collections Act. Several times I have answered the phone and the caller (identified as this company by caller ID) hangs up. Pros: They have not left any horse's heads in my bed Cons: They are liars and crooks more

This is a scam! 1/25/2008

They told me I got a ticket in November 2006. I have paid all my tickets and I NEVER got a notice. This is ridiculous. I encourage everyone to email their story to their local new station and include a link to this website. We need to expose DC DMV and this company. more

File Complaints with the Bi.z Bureau and FTC 1/24/2008

This is the only way we will ever be relieved from this company. They are clearly not validating debts, or sending written notice of collection to the customers. Carrie, the ""customer service person"" told me that they sent a notice to my mailed address on Nov. 21 of 2007, however, my credit report shows that it was entered there in 11/2007. By law, the consumer is entitled to reasonable notice, and an opportunity to pay. Notwithstanding the fact that I did not get any notice from them, they certainly did not comply with the FDCPA if they entered collections contemporaneous with sending the notice. Pros: This company may go down soon Cons: We are all screwed more

Found out some info, had to google a phone number and talk to someone in DC. 1/24/2008

Mine is a speeding ticket from a camera but I never got notice because they left my unit number off of my address. Without it, my post office will send it back. Pros: As long as I was calm, they answered what they knew, when I told them they were required by FDCPA they came forward with a dispute address Cons: I don't think they are reporting this on a credit report with complete information - hence their ability to get away with it. more

Burned by PAM 1/24/2008

I, too, have been victimized by ""Professional Account Management"". I was in the process of getting financing to purchase a home when the loan officer told me my credit wasn't high enough for a standard loan due to two collection notices on my credit report. Evidently, there are two entries for Professional Account Management for $100 and $200. I have NEVER received any tickets in the mail or on my car. I have NEVER received ANY notice of any debt due. I haven't even been late for ANY payments on my debts. This has wrecked my credit and made me unable to buy a house. PAM is completely abusive. DCMVA has my current information. There is NO justification for DC to do this to their own citizens! I am up to joining anyone's efforts to fight this. Travis - travis (dot) dc (at) gmail (dot) com Pros: None. Cons: PAM is abusive. more

Can't believe what they are getting away with... 1/22/2008

I have to agree with most of the comments that I saw on here. I live in Baltimore, MD and travel to DC a lot. Well to my surprise I pulled my credit to refinance my home and was told about Professional Account Management. I had no idea who they were and after pulling teeth they told me they were parking tickets from 2000 and 2003!!!! Both of the tickets they were talking about I disputed with DMV and was told that Pros: They guy I spoke to was a little helpful. Cons: When I called back and talked to a female it was like talking to a brick wall. more

I Hate this 1/21/2008

I have the same problem. I renewed my license twice in DC over the last 8 years, and now they say that I have 2 unpaid parking tickets (from 2002/2003). You can not renew you license in DC with unpaid tickets. Of course I donot have the receipts. This company took 2 tickets and seperated them into 5 accounts, adding 5 different collection notices on my credit. They never notified me of the collection, they just put them on my credit. the only way I found out is because I have a credit monitoring service through TrueCredit. What can we do. this is totally unacceptable. more

This company is a scam 1/20/2008

Like most others here, we found out about this collection company when pulling a credit report to buy a house. The negative report was a surprise. Never heard of the company, never owed them money, never contacted by them. Called and was told for a camera ticket from 6 years ago that we never received! DMV never contacted us and sent to this company for collections...who never contacted us. Using a negative report on someone's credit is a very lazy and underhanded way of contacting someone about a debt they are unaware of. Nobody should find out about things like this on a credit report! They said that even if I paid this ticket, company policy was to leave the negative report. Pros: None. Cons: This company is screwing a lot of good people over. more

Credit Report Disaster 1/20/2008

I recently ordered my 3 in 1 credit report and found that Professional Account Management had placed six collection accounts on my Experian Report. My car was stolen in 2005 and that is how these parking tickets were accumulated. I have the police reports ect..... Apparently the law in DC is the owner of the car is responsible for tickets weather they are driving the vehicle or not. This has lowered my credit report, I will be disputing them with Experian. Should worse come to worse I guess I will have to pay the tickets totaling $675.00. If anyone has any suggestions please advise. more

talked to PAM - update 1/18/2008

so same thing that happened to everyone else happened to me. no longer live in dc. got ticket 9 months ago and just found out while getting credit report. \r \r so i got documentation that i had a pass during this time and wrote PAM and still havent heard an update. i call back every few days to check in but no info at all until today... \r \r so the guy i spoke with said that apparently all tickets were removed from our credit records between feb 1 - feb 29 so that we have a chance to pay the tix and not have them appear again. were we aware of this..no. and after telling the guy that i was legally parking in this spot he said well u can pay it just to be sure. \r \r anyone else noticed this off their credit report? \r \r further more..anyone willing to pay to just have em off there? more

We need to report them to TV, newpapers 1/16/2008

Here was my experience. Like all you my load officer notify me 30 days before I will buy a house of Experian record in mu otherwise perfect credit report. Note from Prof. Accont Mgt company lowered my score 100 points. Next month paid all the tickets. Like the rest I was NOT notified about collection actions BEFORE it went to collection. I disputed the items with Experian. Month after Experian DELETED all the record of the collection HOWEVER then TransUnion added that I was sent to collection and the account was paid which still lowered mu score 100 point with TransUnion this time. TransUnion added this to my report when Proffesional Acct sent the notification about account being closed and paid. more

Simply Racketeers 1/10/2008

I've gotten several messages left on my answering machine in the past week from this company. Initially I just assumed it was some sort of telemarketing scam, as the message gave no details on the reason for the call and just left a callback number (not even a company name). So after about 3 or 4 of those messages, I just went online and filed a complaint with the Federal Do Not Call List which I'm registered on. I did try the call back number that was left on the message before doing that, figuring that I may be able to get the company name to add to my Do Not Call complaint, which I did. Now after the fact, and after a few web searches on that company name, I see that this is pretty much an extortion scam being financed by the DC government. I live in Arlington, VA but do periodically receive parking tickets in DC since I work there. But every ticket I've ever gotten in DC has been paid in full - this is actually pretty easy to verify if you pay them online, since when you enter a current ticket that you want to pay it will find any other unpaid parking tickets you have and ask if you want to pay them as well. I plan to call this company during daytime business hours and ask them to send me, in writing, the reasons why they are calling me repeatedly. I really don't care if they are only trying to extort $50 or less; if I can get their demands in writing I'm happy to go pay an attorney a few grand to contact them, and perhaps the DC DMV as well, since it appears they are acting as agents of the DMV. The business model of this organization - from the previous posts I've read - seems to be to threaten to damage a person's credit score, even if they have no valid collectible items, unless the person agrees to pay whatever amount they are attempting to extort. And they probably do succeed with it in many cases because they believe that not many people would spend a relatively larger amount of money to litigate. If i proceed with it, I'll post a follow up later. Cons: seems to be pretty much mob extortion for the masses more
