Princeton Bar & Grill

I went to the Princeton with my husband and a bunch of friends by Limo. I hadn't been there in years. I was impressed with the upgrades. It has changed quite a bit over the years. The $6 beers did not bother me at all. It was something I expected from a bar at the shore. We weren't there for dinner. We were there for the nightclub. It was Saturday so the place was very crowded. The two bands were good but a number of the bartenders were extremely rude. I totally agree with some of the other reviews. I am not sure how they attract customers. There seems to be a blantant disregard for the customer. I was totally amazed when the bartender in the Circle Tavern told a customer he was a ""pain in the ass"" because he was spending a ton of money - buying a number of drinks for friends. We had a blast despite their rudeness but I doubt I would suggest others to visit. There are too many other bars to go to. more

I have owned a house in Avalon for years and been going to the ""P"".Hands down the worst over priced restaurant in Avalon!!!! \r \r Went to Circle Tavern with friend, but same as the Princeton but with overpriced bar food \r We had burgers, chicken sandwiches, Ribs. It was just ""ok"" but I don't understand how a grilled chicken cordon bleu is $14.00 & you don't even get fries or a side salad. I just don't undestand how a place can charge $10-$15 for a sandwich and they can't even offer you a side they would cost them nothing!!! The ribs are a JOKE!!! A half rack is $15 & a full rack $30. Again you get ""NO"" salad or sides same goes for the burgers, cheesesteaks ect. ""GREETY""? You could also order the $10.00 cup of crab soup. YES! it's just a Cup or soup with about a tablespoon worth of crab meat. \r \r Bottom line is the owners & management who know its one of the most popular places in town and treats people with no respect & could careless about their costumers!! No matter if you are a local or just visting\r You get treated like you are no good for this places! Management is the worst!!! They should stick to running a chain resturant or fastfood chain!! \r \r Bottom line: the place makes a killing at night which will cost you a $10.00 cover!!!! with $6.00 beers!!! They could care less about your business!! Stop trying to be the Hamptons or NYC!!!! \r \r The Whitebrier, Shore Break and Tonio's has way better food, a better atmosphere and the prices are way more reasonable for what you get. Hands down the worst restaurant on the island. Management knows its one of the big gigs in town and treats people accordingly. Went on a crowded night and there was an unsafe amount of people in the bar area bumping into our chairs every few seconds. Food took over an hour to arrive. The caesar salad had no dressing and half of the muscles we ordered were empty shells with no muscles in them. Within one minute of paying our bill, bouncers asked us to get up from our table so they could remove it in order to create ""free flow"" through the bar area. Only positive was a nice waitress; shame the management leaves her out to dry. Bottom line: the place makes a killing because its been there forever, but they could care less about your business and its horrible, overpriced food ($19 shrimp caesar salad?). Wouldn't go again if it was free anyway. The Whitebrier next to it has better food, a better atmosphere, and the waitstaff is a whole lot more pleasant. Princeton Bar & Grill is a major rip off. $10 for a wedge of iceburg lettuce -- are you kidding me!? What restaurant serves ribs with nothing else? And the a la carte sides were ridiculously priced as well. There is no reason why they can't offer a vegetable or a salad for the price you are paying. Yes, I know it is located in Avalon and they are probably trying to pay off the mucho moo-lah they put into the renovation, but really, this is NOT fine dining or NYC! I know, I know. It sounds like I'm bashing the place, but it's actually a compliment. I had a great time there! It reminded me of frat parties as an 18 year old under grad. There was a lot of people just having a good time for the week or the weekend. To shake the stress away, what the hell is wrong with that? Furthermore, if you find someone to help you relieve your stress, I say go for it. Afterall, what happens at the shore stays at the shore! Pros: Fun party place Cons: Way to hot in there more
