Premier Ladies Fitness

I've been a member of Premier Fitness in Kettering for more then 4 years. I recently renewed because it was cheap, close to home, and my son liked the daycare lady.\r \r Last week I made a complaint about lack of fans and their placement. The manager had removed a fan in the cardio area to make room for a sales desk. (According to the employees) When I returned on another occasion, I suggested moving the fan to cover more of the workout area near the front, sunny doors. The manager went off on me. She told me the health bureau made her move the fan because the germs in the aerobics room were making people sick and being blown out into the cardio area. She also told me the Fire Marshall made her move it. The employees said neither was true. I asked her to move a fan 1 foot in either direction so the wind could reach around the pillar she had it aimed at. This woman then threatened to have me arrested! She demanded to have name, (I have been a member for 4 years and she signed me up. She did not know who I was) so she could pull my membership. She then bragged about how many people she had thrown out of the Centerville gym. She was proud of tossing people out and pulling memberships.\r \r Pardon me but this does not sound like a good way to maintain a happy customer following.\r \r I'd also like to agree with the other complaints about lack of sanitation, customer service and qualified trainers. This place is terrible\r \r So to the lady in Columbus who wants to cancel your membership, just go to the Kettering branch and complain about the fan to the manager. You will be thrown and and your contract voided for sure. Oh and just call her Mam. She really hates that. Pros: This place is pretty inexpensive. Cons: Very poor managment and bad customer service. more

I was a member of Premier Ladies Fitness in Kettering OH during this year. My contract was a 1-year contract that allows me to cancel my membership if I move away. I totally agree with ""Don't Waste Your Time""! I originally joined Premier on Kingsridge and was promised a personal fitness trainer for free. What they don't tell you is the 'personal fitness trainer' is anyone they happen to hire off the street and they need no credentials or certification. I soon found this gym to be dirty and many of the machines were often out of order. I switched to the ladies gym in Kettering and that's just as bad. The majority of the women that work there are overweight and no NOTHING about working out except the routine sales pitch and routine ""one-size-fits-all"" workout. Can't tell you how frustrating it is to see your so called personal fitness trainer come in with Burger King and then see her outside smoking. The Kettering facility is in dire need of an overhaul. It's run down, the air often isn't working at all and they only have two fans! The exercise room has nasty carpet with bubbles in it because it's so old, and again, gets WAY too hot - one of the two fans is in that room but it's not enough. I saw one lady get sick because she got too hot after working out in there. One time I went in and the toilets weren't flushing....plain disgusting! Also, I'm sick of Partylite, Mary Kay, whatever else being thrown in my face...it's a gym not a girlie-club!! The owner's of Premier are greedy, ignorant, and don't give a damn about the members that have lined their pockets. They need to be careful because with Fitworks and Gold's, they've now got bigger and better competition! I will not be renewing my contract! more

I've been a member for a year and would like to go another 6 months with a friend until her membership ends, but the owner of this center will not renew for under a one year contract, even with returning customers. He said he would charge me the same for a year as for 6 months. The reason I don't want to go more than 6 more months is that this place is filthy! The women's bathroom is nasty, most of the locker latches are broken, and the locker room is so hot that you get sweaty in the summer before you even exercise. There is no way I'd ever use the sauna after seeing the cleanliness (or lack thereof) of the bathroom. The one large fan was removed from the locker room because the women's exercise room was even worse than the locker room in terms of heat, and the ownership didn't want to buy another fan. I, and many others, had to complain many times before the fan was moved, but it didn't help much. The machines are not well-maintained, and are often broken. The center advertises personal trainers--hah! In my year there, I've spoken with one person, and she took all of 10 minutes to show me how to use the machines. Since then, nothing. I've asked for help, and they're either too busy or talking with the salesmen. I joined at another location that was in better shape, but switched to this one as it was closer to home and my work-out partner had quit. I will not be going back. One last thing, how can this gym have a 4 star rating when I'm the only one who's rated it, and I gave it 2 stars??? Pros: Cheap fitness Cons: You get what you pay for more
