Precision Tune Auto Care

I took my car ( 2006 Mercedes) to Precision Tune for a trannsmission refill. I lost a line and it leaked out. They said no problem. After a week passed I got my car back. The transmission was underfilled and the tech put tranny fluid in my engine crankcase. My car was billowing smoke and eventually stop moving after 3 miles. The owner claims it is impossible they had an accident or made a mistake, ever. It is ridiculous to claim they have never made a mistake, of course mistakes happen. Just read a few of their reviews. Lots of problems and accidents. Andy the owner told me my concerns were laughable and to quit wasting his time. All I wanted was for him to fix anything they are responsible for by servicing my car. TERRIBLE OWNERSHIP! ALSO, the owner yells at his employees when he doesn't even listen and address the problem at hand. more

This shop is great. I bought a car from them. And they really took care of me. Even one year later I could come back with some issues and they immediately fixed it. Very professional. Never got disappointed. Especially how they inform about stuff and very good pricing too. Always will go there first!! Highly recommended. more

If you want to have a shop where you can take your car to get serviced without having to worry about anything and without having to haggle over the price---this is the place for you. I consider myself to be an informed consumer. I did my homework. I moved to Encinitas from Iowa and wanted to find a shop that I can trust. I have been taking my cars to this shop for the last 5 years. They are kind, honest and offer the best prices on the work. I originally took my Mercedes to this shop after my warranty ran out with the dealer. They did the work perfectly and charged me a fraction of what the dealer would have charged. When my son's Toyota needed brake work, I told him to take his car there as well. They fixed his issue at a great price-- and even gave him a loaner car because my son needed to get to school! You dont find service like this anywhere else... I would highly recommend this shop. Pros: honest, up front, experienced, great work more

After the warranty ran out on my truck from the dealership I decided to look for a more affordable alternative to using the mechanics at the dealer. A friend of mine told me he drove his car all the way up to Encinitas from San Diego to get it serviced and said I should try Precision Tune out. I took my truck in for some oil changes and minor service and was happy enough with the service they provided (which was much cheaper than the dealer) that I decided to get the 90,000 mile major service done with them. They kept my truck running perfectly for another 60,000 miles. I parted with the truck in March 2010 with a little over 154,000 miles on it. I recently bought a newer car and when the check engine light came on I decided to take it to a dealer and was horrified when they told me it would be $100 just to diagnose the problem. So up to Encinitas Precision Tune I went. I showed up they diagnosed the problem and it was a $25 sensor that went bad. A week later the check engine light went on again and they noticed there was a small leak in a hose from the coolant reservoir. They were able to diagnose and fix both problems cheaper than the $100 I would have spent to diagnose the first problem at a dealer. In my book that is honest, affordable and reliable work.
