Don't ever call these guys for your TV repair. They will just ROB you off your money.\r You can buy a new TV with the amount that you end up paying AND your TV would stop working the next day. more

took my tv in on August 24th, they were nice, checked it, got straight back to us, saying it needed a power inverter board, we okayed it... had to order took 3-4 days for it to come in... on Sept 8th sent msg that he was ordering the part... and would let us know when it came in... we thought that had already been done... Sept 12th got msg saying the part was on the way.. so much for 3-4 days.. Checked on status on Sept 16th, was told the distributor was 2 days behind, which should have put the part here on the 5th if it had been ordered. THEN after the part was replaced they found something else and ordered parts without our approval and wanted to keep it longer to repair that as well. We said we did not want to wait, as it has already been over a month, for a wk - 2 wk job. Called tech and was hung up on, then got a msg (all msgs were text, I still have them) saying ""Didn't know who was calling, I get calls all day... Tech"" When we said we would be there sat. to pick up our tv, what time can I pick it up, the response was ""okay"" asked again, same answer. Finally got a time, went to pick up, he again asked about replacing additional part, I saw a sign on the wall, all tvs left 2 months would be sold, If they had replaced the additional part like they did the first, it would have been over 2 months,... took tv in on Aug 24th, got back on Sept 28th. I would not take anything here that I wanted back!!! more

Precision TV Repair means top notch proficiency! When my LCD TV suddenly stopped working, I thought I was out of luck (and the cost of a new TV!) Precision TV Repair was not only able to fix my TV to near new condition, but they also did so quickly! Couldn't recommend these professionals enough! more

Very reliable repair shop. Precision TV has twice repaired my Sony television after the power supply went out. Both times they repaired it on time for the amount they promised. Cost is reasonable; service is great; reliability is fantastic. Thanks again. more

We can't fix broken people, just broken tv's 5/15/2012

I AM NOT 99%, BUT 100% FAMILIAR WITH THIS SITUATION, FROM START TO FINISH. SO, FROM START THIS CUSTOMER CALLED IN A STATED THAT HE HAS A SAMSUNG DLP THAT WAS DEVELOPING WHITE DOTS ON TOP OF THE PICTURE, SO I ASK HIM A FEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TV, AND WITH THE INFORMATION THAT HE GAVE ME, WHICH WAS NOT COMPLETE, I GAVE HIM A PRICE RANGE TO FIX THE SET IF IN FACT THE REPAIR I OFFERED HIM DID FIX THE TV (BETWEEN $425-$500). THIS ESTIMATE WAS GIVEN WITH OUT KNOWING ALL OF THE DETAILS FOR THE TV EG. MODEL AND VERSION NUMBER. WHEN MY TECH ARRIVED HE CALLED IN AND LET ME KNOW THAT “YES” THE REPAIR REQUIRES REPLACING THE DLP CHIP, AND THE TOTAL WOULD BE $475 WHICH INCLUDES THE INITIAL SERVICE CALL CHARGE, MY TECH CALLED BACK AND TOLD ME THAT I TOLD THE CUSTOMER BEFORE COMING THAT THE TOTAL WOULD BE $435, I LET THE TECH KNOW THAT WAS INCORRECT AND TOLD TECHNICIAN THAT HE WAS QUOTED $425-$500 DEPENDING ON THE MODEL AND VERSION. (THE CUSTOMER WAS ATTEMPTING TO L0-BALL MY TECHNICIAN. THE CUSTOMER APPROVED THE TOTAL, WE COLLECTED $75 AS A SERVICE CALL AND DEPOSIT ON THE PART THAT CREDITS TOWARD THE TOTAL. UPON RECEIVING THE PART, THE CUSTOMER WAS CONTACTED TO FINISH REPAIR APPROXIMATE 4 BUSINESS DAYS LATER, AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS WE GOT IN TOUCH WITH MR. FULGRUM AND SCHEDULED INSTALL FOR MONDAY MAY 14TH BETWEEN 1-4PM. ON SUNDAY NIGHT MY TECH SENT MR FULGUM A TEXT MESSAGE THAT SAYS “ YOU ARE ON MY SCHEDULE BETWEEN 1-4PM TOMORROW, BUT I THINK IT WILL BE AFTER 2PM BEFORE I CAN GET THERE “(AT 10:02PM SUNDAY NIGHT) THE NEXT DAY THE TECH CALLED BEFORE COMING AND HE WAS TOLD TO COME THAT SOMEONE WILL BE THERE FOR THE INSTALL. THE CUSTOMER HAD PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE EVERYTHING PREPARED AND WAS TOLD THE BALANCE OF THE REPAIR ONCE FINISHED. AFTER THE SUCCESSFUL FINISH OF THE REPAIR WE LET THE GENTLEMAN THERE KNOW WE ARE FINISHED AND THE BALANCE IS $400, HE STATED THAT NO ON LEFT PAYMENT WITH HIM, SO THE LADY OF THE HOUSE CALLED INTO THE OFFICE, SHE APOLOGIZED FOR NOT LEAVING THE PAYMENT AND ASK IF SHE CAN COME BY LATER AND PAY FOR IT, WE LET HER KNOW THAT PAYMENT IS DUE UPON COMPLETION OF REPAIR (NO EXCEPTIONS) AND THAT SHE CAN DO ONE OF THREE THINGS: 1) PAY WITH ANY CREDIT CARD, THERE IS A 5% FEE 2) WE CAN REMOVE THE PART AND FINISH ANOTHER DAY 3) WE CAN PLACE A” HOLD” ON A CREDIT CARD WITH OUT THE FEE AND SHE OR WHOEVER CAN COME BY THE OFFICE AND PAY HOWEVER SHE WANTS (CASH OR CHECK) AND WILL RELEASE THE HOLD ON THE CARD, AND SHE CAN EVEN PUT IT IN OUR MAIL SLOT IF IT WAS AFTER HOURS! SHE DID NOT WANT TO DO ANY OPTION EXCEPT FOR US TO LEAVE THE TV REPAIRED AND LET HER COME BY AT HER CONVENIENCE TO PAY. AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF TALKING TO HER AND LETTING HER KNOW THAT LEAVING THE TV FIXED AND NOT PAYING US WAS NOT AN OPTION, THEY SAID TO JUST CHARGE THE CARD. WE DID. NEXT DAY MR FULGUM CALLED SAYING THAT OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE AGENT WAS RUDE TO HER, I TOLD HIM THE SITUATION. THE ONLY THING THAT WAS SAID TO HER WAS (VERBATIM) MA'AM WE ARE SORRY WE CANT OFFER YOU “CREDIT” AND THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE PRECISION TV REPAIR AND NOT PRECISION BANK AND LOAN. I AM 100% FAMILIAR WITH THE WHOLE WORK ORDER FROM START TO FINISH AND I KNOW THAT MR FULGUM HAD NO INTENTION OF PAYING FOR THIS SERVICE, HE WAS GOING TO TAKE MY KINDNESS FOR WEAKNESS AND ASK FOR 1 INCH AND TAKE A MILE, THERE IS NO DOUBT, WE GAVE 2 ALTERNATIVES TO HAVING TO PAY THE FEE FOR CREDIT CARD PROCESSING AND HE DECLINED. IN THE END THE TV WAS FIXED CORRECTLY IN A TIMELY MANOR, AND CHARGE BELOW THE MAXIMUM AND ABOVE THE MINIMUM THAT HE WAS QUOTED BY PHONE, BUT I DO NOT NOR DO I KNOW ANY BODY THAT GIVES LOANS OF $400 DOLLARS TO PEOPLE THAT THEY DO NOT KNOW, AND YES IN A PERFECT WORLD THIS WOULD BE OK, BUT WE HAVE BEEN BURNT ON A SIMILAR SITUATION IN THE PAST, AND THAT WAS AND THE FIRST AND LAST TIME THAT HAPPENED. I AM PERSONALLY SHOCKED THAT MR FULGUM WOULD POST THESE REMARKS, ALL WE ARE DOING IS PROVIDING A SERVICE THAT PEOPLE NEED FOR THE BEST PRICE POSSIBLE. more

Not a good experience 5/10/2012

Had a problem with a DLP and the dreaded white dots issue. Called Precision TV repair and explained the problem. I was told that it would be a 75 dollar service fee and to hold while they found the cheapest place to find the chip to fix it. Was quoted a price and agreed to the service. The came out immediatley and disassembled my tv and took the lighting engine to their shop. It was at this time that the price of the chip mysteriously went up by 80 dollars. Next they repeatedly told me they would call and set up a time to rreinstall the part. They would call at 2:00 and say we will be there in 20 minutes. Sorry but I am at work. There response was ""this has never been a problem with anyone else"". Really, no one else is at work at 2:00? This happened multiple times. Finally they sent me a text message after midnight to inform me they would be at my house ""around 2:00"" the next day so I needed to be home. I had my father in law meet them. They installed the part and charged me an additional 5% on the entire bill because my father in law did not have cash and paid by credit card. I would not reccomend this company to anyone. more

THANKS FOR THE HELP, MADE PROCESS SEAMLESS 2/26/2012

I RECENTLY RELOCATED TO RALEIGH FROM ILLINOIS THE MOVING COMPANY DAMAGED MY 61 PIONEER PLASMA, BUT WOULD NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THE DAMAGE. SO I HAD PRECISION TV COME AND LOOK AT IT. THEY CONFIRMED THE DAMAGE AND WROTE AN ESTIMATE TO REPAIR THE TV. THEY WORKED CLOSELY WITH THE MOVERS SO THERE WAS VERY LITTLE INTERACTION ON MY PART. THE COST TO REPAIR EXCEEDED THE COST OF MY TV, SO I WAS GIVEN THE VALUE OF THE PIONEER AND REPLACED IT WITH A 50 PANASONIC 3D SET THAT JAMES FROM PRECISION TV RECOMMENDED, IT IS MUCH SMALLER, BUT WAY COOLER. THANKS FOR THE HELP!!! more

Touch Down!!! 1/9/2012

I chose Precision TV because I read the previous review and my 46 Samsung LCD was having the same issue. I called Precision early on Saturday morning and they were able to come the same day. The technician explained to me what was going on and that they would also perform a modification to the power board so the problem would not reoccur. Long story short they fixed my set in time for my Denver Bronco's playoff party! and the Bronco's won, just icing on the cake! Highly recommended, will use again if needed more

Thanks for saving Christmas!!! 12/30/2011

My 52 Samsung LCD was giving me problems starting up, the TV would just make a clicking noise for roughly an hour and then would power on. I called Precision TV Repair and they sent a technician out, he quickly diagnosed the problem and let me know that my model had a common problem and was able to repair it right on the spot!! I was given accurate information upfront before I scheduled the appointment and the technician was very knowledgeable I recommend these guys and again thanks for saving me the trouble and cost of having to replace this expensive television right here at christmas time!!! more

Repsonse from Precision TV 12/15/2011

Last review is for a customer Mr Stewart A. We have made several attempts to contact him regarding his 40 Samsung LCD. We are indeed still awaiting the parts for the unit. We have offered him a equivalent replacement set for him to take ownership of until we can receive all parts for his Samsung. We are unable to contact him, So if you happen to read this Mr. A then please contact us ASAP. We are always striving for great customer service, and we beleive that providing a great customer experience is the only way to do business. We have made changes so that every customer that calls in speaks to a repair technician this way most if not all your questions can be answered by a repair professional as opposed to a secretary if there is no answer we incourage you to please leave a message and your phone call will be returned, we do take full ownership of this review below and want to resolve it as soon as possible. We look forward to continue providing the people of the Triangle the absolute best service when it comes to repairing your electronics, So please read our reviews in full and give us a try!! more

Not what I expected 11/28/2011

Having read many positive reviews here about Precision TV Repair, I decided to call them for repairs needed on my 40"" Samsung HDTV. To say I was disappointed is one whale of an understatement. First, and to be totally fair, the first tech they sent out to examine the TV and diagnose the problem was terrific (his name is Nate). Professional, polished, knew his stuff. NO problems with this young man whatsoever. The problems really started when, after he left following his original diagnosis of the problem, I called to say ""let's go ahead with a repair"" (if you agree to a repair within 30 days of the diagnostic visit, that cost gets rolled into the overall repair cost; a fair policy unto itself). I waited to hear back from the company regarding my parts, etc....and waited....and waited....and waited. I finally called them to determine what was going on, only to find out that this fine field tech had been in a very nasty car wreck (God bless him; he survived but was badly banged up). Understandably this put them behind on my repair and I'm sure many others.....but whenever I called to get an update (they never called me) I was given some innocuous answer that never proved accurate (we're waiting on a part.......no, we can't get that part any longer.....no, it's been ordered and should have been in.....on and on, ad nauseum). All customers really want is a straight answer. Period. Good, bad, otherwise....just give us a straight and honest answer. So next, they send out a 'new' technician. Several months have now passed since the initial visit by Nate. Let me just say that this new guy was nowhere near the original tech's league. In fact, he came out to get some part #'s in an attempt to find an equivalent main power board from another manufacturer (fine....but why did this take months?). Then, this guy added insult to injury: He dropped my TV, broke a piece off of the base/stand for the TV, then placed it back up on a dresser (backward) so that the break wouldn't be seen. Of course, I saw it and found the piece he broke off. Not a huge deal, but he should have pointed it out. Instead, I had to call the company to request a replacement base/stand since their guy broke it. Of course they agreed.....right? Wrong. The owner apparently tells this tech he needs to work it out with me or he has to pay for a new base/stand. So I start getting call after call from this guy; he even denies he broke anything, even blamed my girlfriend (who wasn't even in the room) for the break. Hand to God, you can't make this stuff up. By now......I'm royally pissed and more than fed up with such a shocking lack of professionalism. This all dragged on for months; well over 6 months and counting. Think I'm going to give this company another penny? Nope. In fact, here's the next irony: They have taken SO long, that I can now replace that TV with a new or mfg. refurbished model, better specs, etc......for the same or less money than they want to fix it. That's a fact. Everything I've said in this review is accurate and can be backed up by eyewitnesses, call notes, etc. I've even sugar-coated some of the worst parts of this experience. In short....I believe these guys used to be good. I believe they got way behind when a key team member was injured and their business never fully recovered. I'll never dial their number again. more

Worst Customer Service Imaginable 11/14/2011

My husband and I were VERY unhappy with the service we received from this company. We contacted them in June because our TV was broken. They sent someone out quickly, which was great. But that is where the good customer service ended. After the technician came and evaluated our TV we had a very difficult time getting in contact with anyone. When we did get in touch with them they said that our technician had been in a car accident (which we were very sorry to hear- he was very nice) but they seemed to be using that as an excuse to not know what was going on with the part for our tv. In order to talk with anyone we had to call multiple times and leave multiple messages. They always promised to call us back and never did. They explained that our part was on back-order, which we understand, but is there only one company that makes this part? After six weeks of unanswered phones and un-returned messages, our part finally arrived and they scheduled a time to come out and fix our TV. When the new technician arrived (who was also a nice man) IT WAS THE WRONG PART. I called (and again dealt with a series of unanswered calls and un-returned messages) and was told that the company sent them the wrong part. We were told that they would reorder the part and would fix our tv. That was the last time we heard from them. They didn't return any of our other phone calls. We finally gave up and bought a new TV. Both of the technicians who came to our house were very nice and seemed competent at their jobs. The management of this company, however, is terrible. They have not taken responsibility for one thing that happened during the process of fixing our TV. Do not use this company if you want to have your calls answered, messages returned, or TV fixed. more

They made it right 10/26/2011

After my earlier less than satisfied posts - Precision TV did a great job of coming and fixing the color wheel on time with great customer service. My faith in them has been restored and my tv is now working great. As long as they keep going like this I will continue to use them and recommend them highly more

Response to previous comment 10/7/2011

Last review is from Oak Park Electronics, this claim has no merit, This is one of two accusations from Oak Park Electronics that we (Precision TV) has written negative reviews on them. We at Precision TV believe that is unethical and bad business practice and we 100% deny this accusation. As for years we have been recommending Oak Park Electronics for repairing items that we do not service such as camcorder's, microwaves, DVD players and other small electronics, and for the most part Oak Park is one company that we do not get complaints on, which leads us to believe they are a good company, and believe it we do hear plenty of horror stories involving other companies. We will not be recommending Oak Park any longer.\r Mr. Kaleel we ask that if there is something that you would like to say or ask regarding Precision TV that you take the high road and contact us directly at 919-342-0308 instead of making false accusations and slandering our great reputation.\r more

excellent service from start to finish 9/6/2011

Daniel, a technician for Precision, did a great job, and my experience with Precision has been excellent. I called and left a message on Wednesday, talked with Precision later that day, and made an appt. for Saturday morning.\r \r As I was told, Daniel called an hour ahead, to confirm, and arrived right on time. He was very nice, pleasant, friendly, and professional the whole time. He stated that he owned the same TV that I have, except in a different size, so that gave me confidence, too.\r \r He walked in, and within 30 seconds had the 55-inch Mitsubishi TV (manufactured 11-2002) acting perfectly, by fiddling with the buttons on the front of the TV. That told him that the buttons were the problem, which he stated was often the case.\r \r He took the front of the TV apart, and tested the buttons. He replaced 5 of them which tested poorly. He also noted that the projection tubes on the inside of the TV had a good coat of dust, which he cleaned.\r \r I asked him multiple questions, while he worked, just to learn from him, about this TV and buying new TVs, and he was very pleasant and educational.\r \r He charged $300, which I thought was very fair, especially since I had read on the internet that repairs of TVs of this age and size can often be 2 or 3 times that. I had asked Precision, when I had talked with them on the phone, how much I might expect to pay, and they said that most of the time, it should be around $300 or less. Once again, very accurate and pleasing to me, especially considering how much a new TV could cost.\r \r So, the TV is working perfectly, and the picture is as bright as brand new, since he cleaned it, also.\r \r I could not be more pleased. I highly recommend them. more
