DISAPOINTED! 5/18/2011

Terrible Experience! more

Awful experience 3/16/2011

If i could given zero stars I would. The first time we went there to get my daughters pictures done they came out fine, although from there on it has been one awful experience after another. The second time my daughter was 6 months old and the photographer was apparently n training. She had to ask how to turn the camera on. I was doing the photos as a gift for my mother in law and specifically wanted them with an antique chair that I had brought. She took 4 pictures with chair and moved on. All of the pictures were horrible but I didn't want to tell her that her work was awful so I went with it. I showed them to my husband who was outraged that I had bought these pictures that looked like a ten year old had taken. He called back and they rescheduled us to ome back. They gave us the 9.95 package for free even though I had spent much much more in the bad pictures. We thought we would give it another try bc maybe it was just that she was new. This time they tried to call and cancel as we were walking out the door and getting a 10 month old packed fed ready and kept clean for pictures is not easy so I got them to keep the appointment. My husband met us there and the woman started off rude with me saying that I couldn't do the wardrobe changes that I wanted then she made rude remarks to my husband. The woman had no people skills at all and could not get my daughter to pay attention to her. She used a very dry monotone voice so I dont blame her for not paying attention. She did not even finish our setting, some other man came and finished for her. more

Unhappy 10/19/2010

I called Portrait Innovations to make an appointment to have family pictures made. I was asked how many people, what ages of the children and how many adults (7 children and 8 adults). What type of portrait I was looking for. I explained what I wanted and asked if we needed to schedule more time than usual to have the pictures made. I was told no, that one appointment would be ok. We arrived at PI to find out they were running behind. I asked the associate twice how far behind and all I got was ""I'll be with you in a minute."" Well, that minute turned out to be 35 minutes. The same associate came to take the pictures and she was not in a good mood, very agitated. She offered no suggestions. When I called I had expressed my wish to have some candid shots of the children in a fall settings. I was told we were not in the room where the fall setting background was and it was being used. I asked her to do some candid shots and she refused! I was not pleased with this associate at all. What pictures we received was ok but not excellent which they should have been. I would not return to this studio to have family pictures taken again. The associate that presented our pictures to us explained that she was so tired and could not think. Just maybe they are overbooking to keep productions quotas or some type of pressure is coming down from coporate. I don't know but it was not a good experience. more

So so... 9/2/2010

So I've visited this portrait studio four times now. Twice for Christmas photos and twice at other times of the year. The Christmas season was ridiculous as we waited nearly 2 hours past our scheduled time. I understand, or had it explained to me by one of the clearly flustered photographers that day that they double or even triple book appointments at that time of the year, so I tried my best to be understanding and we were able to go shopping in Hamburg, but still, with two young children having to wait that long is pushing it a bit much. more

Excellent every time 3/12/2010

I have been going to Portrait Innovations since my first daughter was a year and a half old, she is now almost 3 and we also now have an 8 month old. I have always had a great experience with the photographers and all the staff. It is generally horribly crowded, but that's because they are so good. For our Christmas pictures, I had a crabby toddler and a bored baby...but I was so pleased the photographer got some really good pictures, it was really hard to narrow them down, I always get compliments on how great the pics are and what a great value!! Plus you get them right then, not in 2 weeks to a month. I can't say enough good things about this place...give them a chance if nothing else, I bet you will be as happy as I am of the results! Pros: great pictures, great value, great with kids Cons: crowded more

Lexington, KY Portrait Innovations lost my business!!!! 12/7/2009

Our appointment was scheduled during the busy Christmas holidays, which I know are very busy for them. However, we were getting family portraits done that included 3 two year old boys & a nine year old girl. They were aware of that because when I scheduled the appointment I was asked age the age and gender of the children in the photos. Due to their overbooked appointment load and this time of year they were only allowed to give us 10 minutes in the room, which is ridiculous, considering it takes 2 year olds a little longer to adjust. Not only was the time limit thing wrong, they also had 3 photographers in there which totally overwhelmed the children. The photographer kept telling my brother n law & sister n law that have twins to literally pick each of them up and throw them beside the other 2 children being photographed. First of all you can't just pick up a child and throw them down beside the other children and secondly, photographer need to have a little more patience and not make it feel so rushed. i had been to portrait innovations in Lousivlle ky with no problem they were willing to accomadate our needs. Lexington was the biggest joke ever! There was entirely too many people in the waiting area. i understand that they cant stay hours with a session but i think 10 minutes is definitely not enough. Also, i politely asked the photographer if they could give us a few minutes, maybe go ahead and get the people behind us, who were already come in before we got ""booted"" out and she said ""no, I am sorry"". That was the poorest customer service ever. It's a photography studeo not a driver's license photo. they need to take a little more time and think about their booking process. Because any genous knows if there are 3 two year olds in a photo, it will take a little more time. So I do not recommend Potrait Innovations in Lexington to anyone. Was a complete disaster. The only good thing was they took us back as soon as we got there, but no wonder you had a 10 minute timer and not a second more. We were only in the place for 15 minutes and was out the door and very irritated at that! more
