We ended up at this dealership when our AC stopped working in 100 degree heat while on our way from VA to OH. We were told that every component of the AC system was ruined and were quoted $3,000.00 for the repair. We declined the repair, and we were assured that the car could be safely driven. Nothing they told us was true, least of all that the car could be driven. 50 miles down the road, the car stopped working because w/out the AC compressor, the belt that runs the alternator and other systems could not turn. We were towed to a local shop and stayed overnight in a hotel while the shop replaced the compressor (all other components of the AC system were fine) for $800.00. Get the word out - Pohanka is dishonest and unethical - their actions directly lead to a situation where we were stranded in dangerous heat with a child in the car. more

Our experience at Pohanka Honda was g nice. Our sales person was Bill. He was personable and professional. He tryed to find the best deal that was a good fit for us. I would buy again from Pohanka no problems. Go in and ask for Bill he will do the best he can for you. more

Good: The sales staff (Rebecca Goff and Tim Cosgrove) were fantastic! They offered me an extremely low price on a 2011 Honda Pilot Touring right from the start. When I shopped around to find a better price, I couldn't. Several other dealers warned me about Pohanka's "to good to be true price," suggesting the dealership was hiding fees. I'm so glad I didn't listen to those dealers! The super low price had absolutely ZERO hidden costs. Needless to say, I bought my Honda Pilot from Pohanka.. Bad: Pohanka Honda (Fredericksburg) does not make it a regular practice to hold vehicles for potenital buyers.. Improvements: None...everything was perfect!. Other: WOW-Their service department is open between the hours of 530AM and 1030 PM. Where I'm from, that's unheard of!. more

I have bought a few new cars prior to this and had mixed experiences, but this was by far the worst one. It took 3 1/2 hours and four sales people to get one test drive on a honda odyssey. In that time they had sold the one color we wanted and were left with 3 in colors we didn't like. When we started price negotiations, a sales manager named Barbara was brought into the mix. We were told getting another color from another dealership and would cost us nothing. The price of the car was set because I had a pre-negotiated price from my bank USAA. So no haggling there. My trade in however took a long time to work out. It took them over an hour to get the car inspected and an offer to us which they were a bit low, but would not negotiate at all. Everytime I asked for a bit more on the trade in, we were scoffed at that we would even dream of asking for more money with the great deal we were getting with the car purchase. We were told we would get more money on the trade in if we took a car off the lot instead of waiting for the color we wanted supposedly coming in a few days. While waiting for the head manager to okay some stuff, the sales manager Barbara tried to pit my wife and I against each other. I walked away to make a phone call and she made inappropriate comments to my wife about making me decide in her favor. Same thing occured when my wife walked away, she tried to tell me to make my wife listen to me so we could get this deal done. Overall, very unprofessional throughout the entire 6 1/2 hour process we were there. We had almost every detail finally hammered out when they went back on their word and told us they wouldn't even let us get the car in the color we wanted and told us we had to take one off the lot for the deal we had already come to. So after the deal changed multiple times and all my time wasted, I left without a car, went down the way to Hendrick Honda and got the exact car we wanted with even a better deal and interest rate. Pohanka Honda does not deserve your time. more

Good: The final price and a pleasant salesperson.. Bad: Attempted to raise the agreed on price by $780 and sold me all-weather mats that don't exist. My attempt to get my money back is like running a marathon.. Improvements: I'd like some ethical improvement.. Other: A youger customer who hasn't faced the sharks of the auto buying world will get chewed up. Be prepared. Have everything written down and say no.. more

This is THE WORST HONDA DEALERSHIP. They say a price and then change. I was there to buy a Honda Pilot and the Sales Rep quoted me a FINAL price of $27,904 + 710 destination charge + $350 processing fee, + 1055 (taxes, tags, others) = Total $30,019. We agreed…he went at the back and came back with his Sales Manager (Tim Cosgrove)…they changed the whole deal…they said the FINAL PRICE is going to be $32,084. I was like you kidding me....you just quoted me $30,019 and then change it to $32,084….the Sales Manager…was just not listening…and I asked repeatedly…why was I quoted $30,019 and now the amount has changed...he was just not letting me talk...I asked him if he knew ENGLISH....now I had given him an excuse to walk away…and he said...I'm not dealing with you anymore. I asked to speak with the General Manager. The General Manager (Ken) came after 20 minutes….said "I do not appreciate you talking to my sales Manager this way...I would suggest you take your business else where." BASTARDS….I did BUY the Honda Pilot from Hendrick Honda....and it cost me $31,680. I was explained by Hendrick Honda that for them to sell me the Pilot at $30.019, they would have to sell it for $3200 below invoice which is impossible. Pohanka Honda of Fredericksburg had misquoted and that was thoer way of getting out of the deal...WHAT BASTARDS...should have just admitted they made a mistake. I vouch for Hendricks Honda, Koons Honda or the Pohanka at “Marlow Heights”. more

Just bought a 2010 Odyssey. Overall - it was a good experience. Informative - did not feel rushed. Much better than the experience we had previously with another Honda dealership. Deal was fair and did not require much haggling. Everyone was very professional. As anticipated, it did take a while, but we drove off the lot with a vehicle we wanted and felt good about the purchase. more

Power steering making noise. Called in and they told me of a warranty recall. Fixed it in less than 3hrs. Free. Straightforward. Old service dept a bit on smallish side, but good staff. more

Bought a 2006 Honda Civic in March 09. Salesperson was nice, but when asked to take $800 off the price of used car, the manager of Pohanka Honda in Fredericksburg, VA, gave us major attitude and was mean and rude, acting like he was going out of his way. He ended coming down only a few hundred dollars, but I knew it was a decent deal, so I bought the car. Three days later, the battery went dead!!! I had to get it towed to nearest dealership and Pohanka Honda refused to cover it with CERTIFIED USED CAR WARRANTY! Also, light on dash was not working when I bought the car and Pohanka refused to fix it under the WARRANTY again! (Honda Certified Used) we were told is bumper-to-bumper. They considered the light out to be “normal wear and tear” even though it was like that when I bought it. I will never buy from them again!!!! COLONIAL HONDA in Chester, VA was much better with previous car purchase…I will buy from them again!!! more

This is the first time I've had a pleasant car buying experience. I dealt with an internet sales rep and the time at the dealership was minimal. The rep was not pushy and answered all of my questions. He brought the car to my home & demo'ed it so I didn't have to go to the dealership. This was a very smooth transaction. Highly recommend! more

When you get your car serviced, you spend your time in the waiting area. I was very pleased with their waiting area. It was extremely clean and organized. My 2 year old could not hurt herself on anything and I was not scared of her getting dirty from all the grease and grime that most waiting areas have. We have been extremely pleased with them. They did not take very long at all to fix the recall item on our Civic either. I left there VERY happy. more
