Awesome place. Honestly one of the best Happy Hours around. They practically have it all discounted during these hours...beer,wine,well drinks, apps and pizzas. Favorite place in issaquah. more

What a disappointment! 11/28/2010

The hostess had her mouth full of baklava and smelled like strong cigarettes. For dinner, we ordered two steaks (New York & Baseball Cut Sirloin), which came out charred, which simply overwhelmed the taste of the meat. We weren't expecting steaks like Jak's grill, but at least expected something better than my 8 year old niece could cook & flavor. Service was terribly slow and the waiter seemed to always disappear. (Smoke break, etc...) more

A rarity on the eastisde 5/31/2010

This is as close to a neighborhood restaurant as the eastside gets. Not a chain, but a locally owned eatery. The Dobar Chicken is to die for, and there's nothing like it anywhere else. Salmon is always wild and fresh. The pogachas are a great snack. This is a nice restaurant for special occasions or for a casual evening. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the service is prompt, and it's also a great place to watch a game or catch some live music in the bar. We love it and dine here regularly. Pros: Good food, ambiance more

Delicious Authentico! in Issaquah 12/17/2009

Not sure what this person was complaining about, I went to Pogacha and had an amazing dining experience. The food is to die for, the ambiance is mellow and great, and the service was impeccable - potentially the best Italian cafe on the Eastside! Pros: Authentic Adriatic, Italian Food w/ Northwest more

Bad, Bad, Bad Experience 6/7/2009

We've been twice in Pogacha, the first time the food was OK, nothing special, the second time we went with our parents, they ask for Lamb Shanks, when the food arrive, my mom just took the first bite and did not want to finish the meal: ""It tasted like carton, this is terrible, I never ever in my life had such of horrible meal "" I ask the server to take the dish way, we left hungry and we paid like $120 for 4 people, I am still very impressed when I see there parking lot full. What for the people are still going to this place, Horrible service, Horrible food. They should be closed! Pros: The worst food in Issaquah more

So Rude! again 5/10/2009

We went to Pogacha again and no surpise we got another grumpy waitress. What do they say to their staff to make them look and act like they are in a terrible mood? They seemed annoyed that we had the nerve to ask for drinks. It is such a lovely place and would be perfect if the staff were not so awful. I've never been to a place with such consistent bad service before. Come on, please listen to the public and do somthing about the really bad servers. We always had to wait an extremely long time to get to order drinks then even longer to get them to the table. We were all afraid to ask the server because she looked like she just didnt want to be there at all. Noone there was happy about the attitude. Ridiculous behaviour. Pros: Real nice garlic fries and happy hour Cons: terrible service - grumpy and slow servers more

Awful Experience 4/28/2009

Awful Experience. Last weekend was the final straw. I will never go back. Yes, typically the little doggy biscuits served before the meal are stale, and the quality of the entrées is somewhat inconsistent, but sometimes it’s good. All right, so my girlfriend and I have been going to Pogacha for more than 2-years now and for the last year or so it seems like the staff members are going out of their way to harass us. Let me first say, there are several good waitresses at Pogacha, however, last weekend, one bad waitress in the bar stopped serving us drinks after having only two each. Why? I wish I knew. We were just quietly having a good time, sitting by ourselves listening to the music and holding hands. When In asked the waitress, her only excuse was that she thought she saw me stumble on the way to the restroom”. What a crock of $#! +, and a lame excuse!!! Sorry. It must be a personal thing with that waitress because the same thing has happened to us before. In fact, one time a few months ago she refused to serve my girlfriend. “I thought I saw her stumble” she said. Really, we had just walked in, sat down and hadn’t even had a drink. Anyway, back to last weekend, after paying the bill with zero tip (which I never do), and writing ""You $uck"" on the customer comment card (which I seldom do), one of the other bad staff members came up to me (I think she may have been the bartender) with a real bad attitude and told us to get out and that she was calling the cops. I asked “why would you call the cops on us”, and she only repeated, ""get out!"" Hmmm… I was a bit miffed. I asked again but got nowhere with her so we decided to leave this lousy place. Okay Pogacha…I thought this was a free country and ok, so “You $uck” may have been an immature thing for me to write but come on!!! Calling the cops and kicking us out because why (waitress) is a bit ridiculous. Aren’t we supposed to write our comments on the card, good or bad? So readers, before going out looking for a quiet, romantic and relaxing place to sit and have a cocktail and listen to music, take this experience into consideration. I’m sure we are not the only ones who have been treated so disrespectfully at Pogacha. Pros: It could be a good place, but... Cons: Rude and discriminating staff more

Great menu, very good food 1/17/2009

We have gone here many times and get consistently good food and service. Entrees are not cheap but portion size more than makes up for it. Diverse menu makes it great to go with kids or larger groups. Pros: Great menu, good ambiance and service more

Terrible and Tasteless 9/28/2008

I made reservations for myself and two friends on a Saturday night. We chose Pogacha because we didnt want to go into the city and it seemed to have a menu that would appease three people with different tastes. I had a dish the menu touted as a guest favorite, my lamb shank was large and clumsily presented and needed salt. (which seemed to be at all the other tables with the glasses of crayons) My two friends ordered chicken dishes and their chicken tasted like it was rubber and previously frozen. When the waiter collected our plates and asked my friend how her entree was, he did not seem surprised she didnt like it. He offered to remove it from the check and when he came back he mentioned that he also hated the dish she ordered (which made me wonder why he didn't steer us to another selection). I wish I had saved my friend some money, and stayed home and cooked our dinner. more

Delicious Food 7/17/2008

I recently dined here for the first time with two other people. My dish, Sherry Basil Chicken, was very delicious and expertly presented. My friend's dish that had prawns and pasta together was not so good. The flavors had not married and it basically tasted bland. My other friend's dish was very delicious, but the portion was so small. Overall, I thought the service was great. The hostess was unfriendly, but perhaps she was having a bad hair day....who knows. Our waitress was very accommodating and friendly. Surprisingly, she told me the menu was Croatian foods. Hmmm....lots of Italian style dishes (and tasted Italian), Phad Thai (!)...isn't that Thai?, etc. I was confused, but the waitress told us it was Croatian....oh well. Pros: Sherry Basil Chicken, Atmosphere Cons: Parking was limited more

What a dissapointment! 5/11/2008

I had been wanting to try this place for a while. I drive by it all the time, and from the outside it looks like just the kind of place we love, a unique, neighborhood, non-chain, family friendly restaurant. I mother's day was a good time to give it a shot.\r Service:\r Lost our rez (they sat us shortly, but still...), ice water had to be requested 3 times, waiter neglected to take my 10 year old's dinner order. Waiter repeatedly made excuses of an ""issue"" with the kitchen. Our appetizer came out AFTER our food and well after we were repeatedly promised the waiter was bringing it ""right over"". The waiter knew were were quite unhappy with the service to this poing and continued to apologize, he promised he'd be ""right back"" with our check, at which point, he completeley dissapeared for about 30 minutes. When he finally returned, and collected our card he actaually had the gall to stop at other tables on his way to ring us out! They did comp about $20 of our $60 check, unprompted. I might chalk this up to a busy night (except they weren't that busy) but the food was awful too.\r \r So, now that we have the service out of the way- let's talk about the food. To sum it up, I agree with other reviewers who mention it's overpriced for what you get. I don' t mind spending for an excellent meal... but this was anything but. My husband ordered the rib-eye and it was so fatty/gristly it was inedible. HIs food was cold. He would probably not say anything about this but it was also not cooked as ordered and was missing the gorgonzola the menu promised. I ordered a pogacha, which was ok, but nothing spectacular. They charge extra for sauce, which I ordered and was charged for, but didn't receieve. The artichoke dip was quite unpleasant. \r \r I will usually give a restaurant a second chance, to allow for an ""off night"". In this case, we won't be back. Pros: convenient, private parking lot, pretty restaurant Cons: food, service, value more

If you are in the mood for Italian... 1/26/2008

We like to explore restaurants and after reading reviews on Citysearch decided to give Pogacha a shot. We found the atmosphere to be cosy, the service to be responsive, and the food to be tasty. In the mood for Italian? It is much better than a lot of the alternatives out there and doesn't feel like your at a chain. The bar is great and has a fireplace which is nice for rainy nights. The artichoke dip is a MUST! We have been back three times since and are adding Pogacha as one of our regular places to grab a bite to eat. Pros: Good food, nice ambiance, not a chain Cons: Popular at prime times more

Amazing food---great service 9/6/2007

So my wife and I went to the cougar mt zoo to see the new tiger cubs and on the way back through town decided to stop at Pogacha. It was only 4:30ish in the afternoon and we had no clue what type of place Pogacha even was! We went in and asked to see the menu and decided to stay based on what we saw. \r We don't typically order appetizers, but if it's our first time in a new place (to us) we will try to order an appetizer and then dinners and then dessert.\r We started with the hummus which had great taste and just the smallest hint of a kick to it..quite tasty with pagacha's wonderful bread.\r For our dinners we split the dobar chicken pasta and the Pepperoni & Gorgonzola Pogacha (flatbread). Both were just wonderful! The pasta especially was great..penne with a port sauce and gorgonzola cheese...with port soaked grapes...I mean come on...whats not to like about that! The flat bread was great also. They say you can get it with a red sauce but we choose to take it like they offer it...minus red sauce and it tasted fresh and was light and between both dishes there was more than enough food. We ended up taking a little of the pasta home and about a 1/3 of the flat bread. As for the hummus...way too much for two people! We took a lot of that home and our wonderful server actually gave us quite a bit of extra bread!\r All in all, an excellent experience! My wife and I will be back :) \r I give it 5 stars for our first trip there...It was good enough that we will be back soon! Pros: Great food, great service Cons: none that come to mind more

good bread, overpriced 8/19/2007

We went to Pogacha on a Saturday night with no reservations, and had no problem getting seated. The atmosphere was nice - lots of families, although we were just a party of two adults. We ordered the ham, pineapple, and macadamia nut pogacha, which was quite good, and the bread with olive oil and vinegar was also excellent. The service was alright - our waitress didn't stop by at first, so we had to flag someone down to find out who she was. The big disappointment was the main course. I ordered the tenderloin skewer cooked medium rare - it arrived medium well, the quality of the meat was quite low. The meat was tough and flavorless. The risotto that accompanied the steak was bland and boring - I had to request extra cheese to make it edible. My companion ordered the salmon linquini, which was also awful. The sauce was runny, the salmon was overcooked and dry, the dish wasn't flavorful. After hearing the rave reviews, we were really looking forward to this place, but after paying $60 for food that was really not good, it was a huge disappointment. We may have just gone on a bad night, but we'll never go back to try it again. Pros: good bread, good pizza Cons: overpriced, bland food more

Great Lunch 5/14/2007

Pogatcha is a great place to go out with the kids and still enjoy an adult meal. The Pogatcha flatbread with butter are so addictive my kids want to fill up on them and not eat their entrees. The salads are fresh and the mediterranean sandwich is delicious. Highly recommended for faimilies.\r Pros: Family Friendly, Open for Lunch, more

I would sell my home... 11/29/2006

....and move in next door to this wonderful restaurant. Only no homes are on the next lot. Still, this was such well prepared food, and reasonably priced. And the flavor's burst upon my mouth so exquisitly! I was predisposed to not enjoy this place. I wasn't particularly hungry, and my wife practically forced me to go. And yet, WOW!!) OK, I'm no culinary expert. But I know good food when I taste it. I will find a way to get to Pogacha (from Kent, Wa.) as frequently as the budget allows. Now if I could only figure out a way to get a raise. more

Two outside eating venues, live music Saturday night 9/25/2006

Great salads. The Tomato/Basil Soup is the best in Seattle. Great & attentive servers. Awesome individual ""pizzas"" called pogachas. Valet parking Thu-Sat. Convenient to I-90. Nice decor. Sports bar when music is not live. Pros: Servers, food, ambience Cons: Parking can be a small problem on weekends more

overall good food and good setting. 7/14/2006

first-time was disappointing with lamb and pasta dishes with mediocre risotto. sencond time around: tried some breads, chicken and pizza, and it was great. Outdoor seating is excellent with kids. Cocktail menu is outstanding. Overall great food and atmosphere, but had a feeling that dishes were over-priced. more

HAPPY HOUR RULES 4/13/2006

We did the happy hour here and I could'nt believe how great the deal was. Check out the homemade Hummos and Cocunut Shrimp. Some of the best We've ever had. The location is convenient right off I-90 too for a stop by before or after Skiing. We'll be back! Pros: CHEAP HAPPY HOUR, FREE MUSIC ON WEEKEND, GREAT CHEF Cons: PARKING more

A great time, every time. 4/6/2004

Pogacha is definitely a restaraunt that is not likely to fail you. The warm walled atmoshere, marinated with the well attentive, menu educated servers and flavorful dishes, is what seperates Pogacha from the pack. The menu is not extensive, but has enough of a mix to cover most pallets with precision. First timer should step outside the box, and try the house specialty, Dobar Chicken, aka. The Purple Dish! It is penne pasta tossed in a house port wine & gorgonzola cream sauce, with grilled chicken breast, port soaked grapes & gorgonzola cheese. It is a must try!! Overall, it is a must try! Pros: Fresh Pogacha Rolls, Diverse Menu, Trained Wait Staff more
