They're standards have declined over the past decade. They use to be really good, but its not as good as they use to be. The pizzas seem to be thrown together now, without much care. I only rarely go here for my pizza in a pinch, and to be honest its only on days when Frank's pizza is closed. more

Good Pizza 5/5/2009

We have good pizza's in this town if we can only get a good tax collector now, this town would be moving in the right direction. Joann Crano Dunn is never there and even when she should be there a sign is in the window saying she will be right back. Then when your paying the tax she want to impress you with the town gossip. I'm sure I'm subjected to the gossip as soon as I walk out the door. Lets vote her out this time, we need a tax collector like the Dunns (at erie insurance) that did know how to run that business. Pros: Delicious Cons: THe tax collector more

Police Station Pizza is HORRIBLE... 10/4/2008

Completely disgusting!! It reminds me of school cafeteria pizza. It tastes like soggy bread topped with ketchup-y sauce and fake cheese. There's always a line, it's pointless to call ahead, and it's kind of dirty. Like another reviewer wrote, the workers don't wash their hands; they just heap on any extra ingredients you want without cooking them on. Horrible. It definently doesn't taste like real pizza, let alone Italian cuisine. Pros: Nothing. Cons: HORRIBLE pizza!! more

Best Sicilian around 7/16/2006

This pizza is so good... you can get it made at the shop, or for a different taste, take unbaked home and make it yourself. It only takes about ten minutes cooking time. The sauce is so good, it tastes fresh. The cheese is awesome. I don't know where they get it from, but it is so tasty... If you get it made already, they can throw extra cheese on top, and if you get some unbaked to take home you should order an extra bag of cheese cause it's worth it just to snack on while the pizza is cooking. more

3 year search ended 7/11/2006

Being from Chicago, my wife and I are very picky about our pies (pizza). After 3 years of below average pizza from national chains and mom & pop shops, we found a truely fantastic pizza. To top things off it is very affordable. Standing room only on Friday and Saturday nights, quite often people waiting outside. All of our family and friends that visit are taken up to ""Police Station Pizza"" not only for the great 'za but to experience the ordering process. The 'za is delicious hot, cold, day old, even two days old. The crust is light and crunchy, but not hard to chew. Sauce has a great balance of spice and sweet. Toppings galore and look out if you like extra cheese.......no skimping here! Well worth the trip if ever in town. Pros: Pizza Pizza Pizza Cons: Only one location more

Best Sicilian square pie! 6/29/2006

having grown up in northeast philly and now living in the burgh for 10 + years, i know the difference between what is good pizza and what is junk, and i can honestly tell you that this place serves some of the best sicilian squares i have ever had anywhere! The staff is awesome, there could be as many as 30 people waiting for their pizza on a busy night and yet they manage to get every order exactly right. Pizza House aka ""Police Station Pizza"" is the real deal for great sicilian, accept no substitutes! Pros: great pizza, great toppings, great staff Cons: wish the shop was closer to where i live more

Simply awesome! 6/17/2006

Simply awesome!\r \r Tried at the suggested of a colleague. If you haven't been already what are you waiting for! You won't regret it. The place is take out or delivery but there is a great park a block down the street with picnic tables. more

Best Pizza You'll Ever eat 3/11/2006

I was born and raised in Ambridge. Back in the early 1960's I lived on Franks Pizza. Still love it. One day, I went to what was then called 13th street pizza and bought a couple slices with mushrooms. It's the only pizza you can put in the frig and when you microwave it the next day, it still has the crunch. The only pizza I ever had that would beat the pants of both Franks and Pizza House, came from a little place on 19th and Duss Ave called Cerones. I'd pay $50 a slice just to get a piece of that original pizza today, although mine is extrememly close. It used to smell like 10 year old gym socks that someone left in a locker. But, one bite, just one little bite, and you were in heaven for the day. Pros: Sauce , Dough, Toppings Cons: Not one where I live, Not one where I live, Not one where I live more

accident 8/27/2004

having found this place by mistake 8 years ago, i go back all the time. one of a kind place and the best pizza this side of the mississippi. i have taken many people there and all have said they would go back. just a short drive out the red belt ( i live in west deer) 40 minutes. the crust is light and crunchy, best when out of thier oven, one square dosn't weight you down and the sauce is un matched. taste and crunch for yourself, you'll love it!!!!!! Pros: crust, sauce, people more

Highly recommended 5/17/2004

We've tried many different pizzas and always end up back at Pizza House, which we call Police Station Pizza. The price is right, the food tastes great, and they don't skimp on the toppings. We probably buy 45% of our pizza there, 45% at another location and the other 10% is spent searching for a place as good as it gets (Pizza House). Pros: inexpensive, plenty of toppings, unique atmosphere Cons: , low hot sausge suply more

The Best 1/27/2004

I remember Pizza House from when I was a little kid. Back then they were located at 13th St. and Merchant St. Around the house we called it 13th Street Pizza, still do. My very first tast of Pizza came from the Pizza house and to this very day is still among my favorite places to head for good Pizza. I now live in Northern Virginia and let me tell you, you can't get a decent Pizza down here, especially if you have Pizza House Pizza as your standard. Pretty big standards to fill. My wife and I still have family back in Beaver County, so I make sure that just about everytime we head home for a visit, we stop at Pizza House and order a tray or two. Pizza House Pizza... food of the gods! Damn, I wish they were down here in Northern Virginia. more

You Deserve this ""Quick Fix"" 8/3/2002

Pizza House has the most interesting beginnings. The building is an old police station. Although it is strictly takeout/delivery, you'll be hooked from the first bite-delivered to your door, or enjoyed at the little park down the street. The square crust can also be bought plain; your selection of toppings are heartily packaged for your own assembly at home. This crust is airy, with a crunchy outside skin the most delectable flavor I've ever found. Better than homemade, the sauce is not too sweet nor acidic. Toppings are heaped with reckless abandon. Buy it by the slice, quarter, half or whole; fresh from the oven ready to eat or cold, ready to assemble, your mouth will water in anticipation. Truly there is no better pizza in Pittsburgh. In business for over 30 years, the Pizza House rules. Pros: Flavor Extravaganza, Friendly Service, Cool Building more
