It stings to leave a negative review but it really was not good especially factoring in the cost. 1. they left off part of our order, didn't offer to replace or refund, offered a small credit on NEXT order 2. all bread items were burnt (dark brown/black) 3. pizza had some weird oil/grease that left a waxy film in our mouths, thick, disgusting 4. pizza had no taste which is odd b/c it was covered in veggies The two stars are because the people are friendly enough and the lasagna was good (I heard, I didn't eat any). The salads were top notch and if I were grading on those alone, easily 4 or 5 stars! Wonderful side salad w/beans, well chopped cheese, good house dressing, very filling! It also arrived piping hot to our door in a reasonable amount of time. TL:DR; Salads, Lasagna, friendly people---- yes :::: Pizza, bread items, high prices, partial order fulfillment --- no more

Editorial review from GrubHub 5/14/2013

Decided to try D'amore's for the first time the other day, and I was not too happy with what I received. I ordered a small cheese w/bell pepper, mushrooms, meatballs, and pepperoni. What was the price for this pizza? About $20... for a small. I thought, I will give it a try, perhaps its amazing. The pizza was alright at best, for a $20 small. Had the price not been so high I would say it was good, perhaps even great, but not worth the $20 paid. I also ordered the garlic rolls. These rolls looked amazing in all the images I saw and I was quite excited about them. They and arrived and I took my first bite. While they were tasty, they were also dry, cold, and a little stiff; as though they were day old microwaved rolls or something. In total with, tip and delivery fee, I payed somewhere around $32. I will not be ordering from here again. more

loved every mouthful 3/11/2009

HAD A GREAT MEAL AT D'AMORES IN CAMARILLO TONIGHT. JOE D'AMORE MAKES YOU FEEL SO WELCOME AND WAS VERY ATTENTIVE THROUGHOUT. THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND HAPPY WHICH IS'NT THE CASE WITH A LOT OF RESTAURANT STAFF ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE YOUNG. I HAVE EATEN IN MANY MANY ITALIAN RESTAURANTS AND CAN HONESTLY SAY IT WILL ONLY BE D'AMORES FROM NOW ON. THE PIZZA WAS OUTSTANDING AND THE LASAGNA WAS SUPERB. THE PORTION SIZES WERE A WELCOME SURPRISE.I HAVE READ THE OTHER REVIEWS WHICH SAID IT IS EXPENSIVE, YES IT IS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN DOMINOES OR PIZZA HUT ITS ALSO 10 TIMES BETTER!!!!!!!!!!GOOD FOOD DESERVES A GOOD REVIEW. WE WILL BE BACK VERY SOON. (D'AMORES WAS RECOMMENDED TO US BY A NEIGHBOR AND SATISFIED CUSTOMER.) Pros: quick service and very friendly staff Cons: What are the drawbacks? more

Closest to Real Boston Pizza 11/29/2008

In an ocean of same tasting pizza, there's an island called D'Amore's. What other restaurant brings in actual Boston water? The owner took me back into the kitchen and showed me the freaking water? I mean, the attention to detail here shows! The pizza is incredible. The crust is thin, crisp without being dry. Freaking perfect! I've heard about D'Amore's from friends for years. Today, I stopped at the Tarzana store to try a slice. Tonight, I picked up a jumbo pie at their Canoga Park restaurant. My diet is screwed. While I was waiting for my pizza, I was watching a woman eating a plate of baked ziti. Damn!! I'm gonna be back to try it!! Pros: Authentic Boston style Pizza that satisfied my authentic Brooklyn taste buds. Cons: There should be a D'Amores in every neighborhood. more

BEST PIZZA AND LASAGNA AND SALAD! 11/21/2008

Thanks for such a great experience! I have been eating this pizza for years and I never wrote a review. I saw the one where the guy said all this stuff about it being the worst pizza ever! He obviously must be a freak or maybe he works for for Dominos. This pizza is amazing!! How can anyone say anything but WOW! about this pizza. I like how they re-did the place too. This is their original ""hole in the wall"" and it's fun to see the pictures on the walls. I feel like I am in New York. Hope these guys stay in business forever. And I love that it's low fat! How is that possible? Something about the olive oil burns off when it cooks? Anyway, everyone should try D'Amore's at least once. And if for some reason, it isn't everything all the other reviews say it is there's always the smart people who realize no one's perfect and you can give 'em one more shot. Or you can just be a creep and just write bad reviews and show how miserable you are. Pros: BEST PIZZA Cons: could be in a better location. The neighborhood is getting run down more

D'Amore's: The Worst Pizza Place...Ever! 10/19/2008

Everything about D'Amore's Pizza is absolutely atrocious, and I strongly suggest that you stay away. The food is horrificly bad and exorbitantly expensive, the kiss of death in the restaurant business; the service is dismal; the wait and cook staff are inattentive and indignant; and there is zero atmosphere. The owner, Joe D'Amore, knows nothing about how to successfully run a restaurant, and it shows. Pros: The antipasto salad and Italian dressing are good. Cons: The food is terrible; the service is awful; and it is extremely expensive. more

Authentic Boston Pizza 12/9/2007

The oldest pizzaria in Boston is Regina's which opened in 1926. It's located in the North End of Boston which is the Italian section of the city. D'Amore's pizza connection does it right. It's almost identical to the pizza Regina's been serving for three generations. Depending on your own preferences, you may or may not think this is great pizza, but if you want to taste how it's done in Boston's North End - this is the place. Pros: Excellent Food Cons: A little pricey for a fast food joint. more

WORST PIZZA EVER! 9/2/2007

I have had quite a few pizzas in my time. This was by far the worst pizza I have ever had. The advertisement said ""Best pizza in the nation."" I should suu for false advertising. It was dry, rubbery, and burnt. I called and complained and the customer service said there was nothing they could do about it. I was angry!!! If I had to eat this pizza or die, then I will be digging my own grave. Pros: nothing Cons: everything more

Great tasting thin crust pizza! 8/20/2006

The pizza is great! It is far superior to Abbott's pizza, in my opinion. I would say that it is more on par with Village Pizzeria on Larchmont, except that D' Amores has better crust and sauce. It has a lot of flavor and is very addicting. If they undercook it, which they do sometimes, it is not quite as good. Pros: great tasting pizza Cons: bad service, expensive, hole-in-the-wall more

Pizza has Changed 8/10/2006

I haven't been to D'Amores in a few months and finally went there for lunch today. I have to say that the pizza has changed. I myself am from NY and yearn that real NY pizza - which is why I go there a lot. But today, I have to say I am a bit disappointed with everything. I had the lunch special (slice, salad and soda for $5.95) The salad was soggy (went from fresh salad mix to cheap iceberg lettuce), the pizza tasted like it was any other pizza from Ameci's or Domino's. It didn't taste like they import the water or other ingredients which made their pizza tasting so good and different from all other pizza in LA. Pros: Dressing for Salad and garlic bread was great! Cons: Salad was soggy, pizza didn't taste like East Coast Pizza & it's pricey more

NOT TO BE TRUSTED 4/4/2006

I just came back from lunch at ""D'Amores"" aka Pizza Connection. I went with a group of co-workers during our lunch break and went to the Winnetka location. We ordered a ""family size"" thin-crust Combination and a family bowl of Antipasto salad. The cheese on the pizza was rubber-y and was a little on the taste-less side. The price was quite expensive because we also ordered drinks and the total came out to $14/person. Granted, we're not from the east coast, and if this pizza is the closest to tasting like the pizza there; you guys don't know what pizza tastes like that. I probably would have been happier with grabing Little Caesars then there. If you guys find anything else that tastes more ""authentic"" send me the address. I was majorly dissapointed by D'Amores. Pros: Customer Service Cons: Food, Price, Ambience more

Wicked Pissa' Pizza!! 1/31/2006

Finally I found a westcoast pizza place that has great pie. It reminds me of my childhood after Celt's game eating pizza in the Norht End. Regina ,The European, Francesco's. Thank's D'Amores more

The Best-The Best-The VERY BEST 6/14/2004

You have to try this pizza and their antipasto is outstanding. The staff at the CPrk location are super freindly, Nancy treats you like family! The D'Amore's family take their family recipe seriously. If you have never tried this pizza, you are mssing out. Everyone loves D'Amore's! Pros: Delicious, Many locations, Friendly more

Getting it Straight 5/17/2004

I Understand that there are some misunderstandings about D'Amores. Competition, misguided opinions who knows? The truth lies in the fact that ""the proof is in the pudding"" or should I say the Pizza etc. I have been in Los Angeles for over 35 years (from Back East too) and have eaten pizza in many establishments and highly rated Italian Rest. Many of the dishes at D'Amores will challenge them. Regarding Pizza. You cannot touch D'Amores PERIOD. Check the Food and Ingredients. I hope you do not rate just on unconfirmed critisims from unknown sources. When I am asked by friends who has the best Pizza in LA its D'Amores and the 2nd best is Abbott's. Now, I have my business both in Los Angeles and Las Vegas and I am excited that D'Amores is there too. Thank You HPD more

Best Pissa on the West Coast 12/11/2003

Just felt the need to put in a review. I moved to the West coast from NJ and had the worst time finding a good pizza place, just when I was about to give up my search I found D' Amores. The pizza is outstanding. Now that I moved back to NJ, I will miss it! Enjoy and eat a slice for me! more
