Pizza Colore

I've probably tried most of the pizza places in Boulder over the years, and keep coming back to Pizza Colore. It's the best in Boulder in my opinion. The crust is thin and slightly crispy, and the toppings are plentiful. There are a lot of unusual ingredients available, but we usually stick to the standard peperoni, sausage, etc. The prices are reasonable too, compared to some of the other pizza places in town. They also sell pizza by the slice. For a great lunch on a sunny day, try the two slice special and sit at the outdoor tables on the mall. Pros: Great pizza at a reasonable price more

Staying in Hotel Boulderado for my vacation, I sampled the restaurants on the famous Pearl Street Mall everyday. Pizza Colore was one of many that I visited during my stay. I did not expect to find extraordinary food on mall restaurants, but I must admit I was totally surprised. I stopped by for dinner on Saturday 3/7/09 and ordered the large baby clam pizza for my family of 3. The owner started custom making the pizza for us immediately, not many customers due to the economy, and in about 20 minutes, it's on the table. I must say that it's the best pizza I've ever had, and the whole family agreed. If we are to visit Boulder again in the future, Pizza Colore will be on our must-visit list. Since the large clam pizza was big enough for 3, we didn't order any other types of pizza. I would have rated it a 5 if we had big enough stomach to try its other types of pizza and confirmed that they tasted equally as good. So until we go back and sample its other types, I could only give Pizza Colore today a 4 to highly recommend it based on a small sample of its offerings.
