All reviews seem positive

Even I had fun 1/12/2011

Now remember! This is a place for the kids, it's not about the adults! My daughter loved this place. It's a different experience than jousting arena down the street! But it was still worth it, even I had fun with this. more

Lot's of fun 1/10/2011

When you first get there, you really don't know what to expect. It's right next to Medieval times and looks like an old Victorian type building with a un-pirately shade of pink/lavender. Medieval Times is a castle, shouldn't Pirate's Adventure be a pirate ship? I got there late, so I wasn't able to see the pre-show or have any of the appetizers. And one of the workers greeted us with a, "you just got here? oh man, the appetizers are even better than the food you get during the show." The inside of the building just feels a bit uninspired. It almost felt like this was a cheap knockoff of another Pirate Dinner Adventure show. When you get into the main room, you feel small in scale due to the rows and rows of kids, and this boat in the middle room. The boat itself was a bit disappointing. It was smaller than I thought, and it was basically a grand version of a raft. The room is loud. Kids are talking and laughing with excitement. I went with a group of 15 twenty two year olds. You could imagine how out of place we felt. When you find your seat, an unpleasant looking salad is waiting for you at your table. It looks like it's been there for half an hour or so. I eat it. The room is divided into different sections according to color. And each section had their own pirate. While you're eating your salad the pirates try to rally the section and get everyone excited for the show. The waiters gladly get you beer and soda. This is probably the only time they'll be glad to get you anything. I think I was only able to get two cups of beer. The actual dinner was bleh. Not bad, but not that good. You have the choice of chicken and seafood, or chicken and beef. I had the seafood, I think it was the riskier, but better of the two. I did enjoy the dessert - warm apple pie and ice cream. The show itself made no sense. There's something about love in there, people are singing, some out of place competitions, and some cirque de soleil type of acrobat that seemed to be thrown in for no reason. more

Pleasantly surprised 1/6/2011

We went to Pirate Adventure for my son's 10th birthday. Our family of four was pleasantly surprised. The show was action packed, entertaining, and the singing was good, too. The food was perfectly cooked. (Though I do agree with another reviewer that it is hard to eat chicken off the bone in the dark.) Our server, Steve, was wonderful and attentive. He made sure both our kids got in the show and paid special attention to the birthday boy. I purchased the upgraded seats. We sat in the first row of the purple section. When we sat down, I was a bit disappointed because there were some ropes directly in front of us that I thought would obstruct our view. It was really not a problem, though. The only let down was that I paid $10 more for a birthday announcement and it was pretty lame. They ask anyone with birthdays to stand up anyway. I would skip that the next time. I think anyone who goes and is willing to just go along with the hokeyness of the show will have a good time. more

I very much enjoyed the entire experience 1/5/2011

My boyfriend took me to the Pirates Dinner for my birthday and I very much enjoyed the entire experience. After you pay for admissions, you are given a pirate head band to tie over your head and a few mardi gras beads. You are also presented a team, whom you cheer for during the show. You are greeted by all you can eat appetizers including fruits, celery and carrot sticks, cheese and crackers, and buffalo wings before the show and once the show start, you are stuffed with another 3 course meal! I have to say, it was worth the price, and trust me if you walk out hungry, there had to be something wrong! And the waiter was nice enough to give us free wine and beer! more

great time 1/3/2011

More fun than Medieval Times There is a lot more crowd participation in this show, which makes it awesome for kids. Everyone seemed to have a great time taking part in the show. The story didn't really matter so much to me. It was entertaining anyway with all of the acrobatics and seeing all the kids volunteering. more

We loved the show 12/30/2010

ARRRGGGG!!! & I say that in a good way! Me and my family went to Pirates for dinner (02/16/2010). Our motive was for the entertainment. We have an 18 month old that we wanted to bring to see if it's something he'd enjoy AND BOY DID HE!! I saw the reviews before actually buying our tickets and it didn't scare me because how bad can it really be? It's for good 'ol family fun, not for a bunch of teenagers or young adults looking for a place to get smashed & go wild. The price is reasonable since it comes with so much: Pre-show w/appetizers going around (mini corn dogs, fruit, jalapeno poppers, bread w/meat & cheese, & mozzarella sticks). Plus, there are 2 bars for some libation action @ your cost of course. The pre-show was a great kicker-off-er and even so the baby enjoyed it so much! Next was the main stage event where dinner was served. We bought some swords & flags before we got seated. $4 a pop is not bad considering Disneyland and Knott's gear costs an arm and a leg these days! Dinner was alright. They don't claim to be 5-star & that's fine with me. Salad is salad, so that was yummy! The main course came with chicken and choice of shrimp or beef. There is also vegetarian options if you so choose. The chicken was good and fairly tender. The seasoning on it was just fine. I recommend the shrimp versus the beef. The beef wasn't very tender, while the shrimp/scallop combo was served in a better sauce (it worked well with the rice). The rice came with the shrimp & the potatoes came with the beef. An ideal combo would be the meat choices w/potatoes & rice. No veggies because it just tasted like it came from the freezer and was soggy. The meal wasn't all that bad. The entertainment totally makes up for it. I guess some people don't understand that the money you pay at the door pays for the staff, bills, and food. They also give you a ton of options as far as upgraded meals, party packages, photo ops, 2 shops, full bar- extra out of pocket but that's where they make some extra money. more

We will definitely be going back 12/29/2010

Me and my fiance went to Pirates Dinner Adventure for our 3rd anniversary and we loved it. The vegetarian lasagna dish was the best I have ever tasted. My fiance loved the BBQ pork. The show was really good too. We will definitely be going back with the kids. more

I like it better than Medieval Times 12/24/2010

A lot of fun, but expect to get involved, all but one of the 6 people we had with us got involved. Go in a good mood and make sure you get there for the preshow for the appetizers, drinks and story line. The singing was good, and the acrobatics are awesome. The food was good enough. I wouldn't go all the time, but it's fun when you have people in from out of town. I like it better than Medieval Times, more to watch and more interesting. more

We had a blast! 12/17/2010

Arrrrr ye matey! I just went to the pirate show with some family from out of town and we had a blast! I have been before and it is what it is, but it's fun! You can't be a Debbie Downer when you take people to see the show! You HAVE to partake and cheer-I think I lost my voice! The tickets weren't bad. We paid $270 for 8 adults and 2 children (I found a discount in the local clipper magazine). We were offered VIP and didn't take it but the server still asked us if we wanted to be in the show. If you've read the other reviews you know you have to get there early for appetizers etc. My one piece of advice is if there are any kids or non beer drinkers in the group, still turn the mug over so you get their beer! Just get them a soda in the lobby and use that cup for their soda cup, that's more grog for you..I'm just sayin! :) Have fun, cheer, and sing along!! What do you do with a drunken sailor...Hell, make a fool outta yourself! Those people will never see you again! more

A wonderful experience 12/15/2010

You will love this attraction. I took my european family to the Pirate Adventure Dinner Show in Orlando and we all absolutely loved it. The Pre-Dinner show was very entertaining and the appetizers (i.e. salmon on cracker, steamed veggies, sauces and dips, roast beef, salads) absolutely yummi and filling in itself. The main show and dinner/dessert with 2 rounds of beer and wine. All was well worth the price we paid. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We did not purchase tickets directly from the official website. We got discount tickets, something you may want to explore. Overall, a wonderful experience I would recommend to anyone. more

Highly recommended 12/13/2010

Went on a Tuesday night to celebrate our boy/girl twin's 6th birthday. I was a little nervous about the "cheese" factor. The show did a great job just being cheesy enough for a 6 year old and an adult to enjoy. The kids loved the pre-show appetizers. Mom and Dad liked the micro-brew beer. The food was "ok". Most importantly the kids ate very well. They do an excellent job getting the kids involved. Both kids got up on stage for a couple scenes. My son got ride around in a little motorboat. They both got to dress up as "Red Coats" to take over the pirates at the end of the show. My boy and girl loved the pirates and the princesses. Highly recommend the show. more

Hats may have lice!!! 3/14/2009

If your guests (especially children) participate in the show DO NOT wear their hats. My daughter got lice from wearing the same hat used in all of their performances. It is not fun!!!! more

Awesome Show! 2/28/2006

Pirates Dinner Adventure is pretty new to Southern California, replacing the old western show that was here for years. The pirate show blows the western show out of the water...no pun intended! The show takes place on a huge pirate ship...lots of pirates, fighting, crowd interaction. Its exciting and loud and fun...and a small fortune. Its a shame that these places are so expensive...my son loves pirates, but he won't be seeing this show often. $49 for adults, $32 for kids. Included in the price is a two hour show and a nice dinner. more
