Loved the Pirate Show wanna go back their again. It was actually pretty good they were getting all the audience involved and i actually danced the YMCA towards the end of the show...

Worst

All reviews seem positive

Good experience 5/5/2011

Pleasantly Surprised and Same Value as Dinner and a Movie We read the reviews and were planning to go to Medieval Times instead but just couldn't spend the dough since our kids are just toddlers so the expense for a 3 yr olds entertainment wasn't worth it. We walked in expecting lousy food and a lame show but we were pleasantly surprised. The food was pretty good (we had the chicken) although the salad was pretty much just lettuce and ranch dressing. And the show was fun for all of us and the little ones were in a trance the whole time. We basically spent as much on this as we would to go to dinner and a movie for all 5 of us so definitely a good experience. more

Had a great time 4/27/2011

you gotta get in the right mindset if you're headed here. it's not going to be cheap, fun stuff never is. it's going to be cheesy, most places that appeal to all ages are. i had a great time, but perhaps my attitude and company created that. more

i like this place! 4/26/2011

How fun is this?! So ive never been here and my friend and I decided that since we got an email for admission at the price of $20.09 instead of over $50 for the next week or so, we said hey lets do it! So yesterday i met up around 6pm with my friend and her mom for the show. I walk in and they're standin there, pimp cups in hand, wanting to take a picture with the pirate guy standing there. One of the workers dressed in all black [meant to be another pirate im thinking] came over and said, "now those are some hot wenches! you dont even need him in the picture" haha. then when we were done taking the picture, he lined us up and gave our booties a smack. "hey i like this place!" i thought. The preshow had barely started and they were serving appetizers on the other side of the large room. I went to the bar and got a pimp cup full of alcohol myself [pink of course] and made my rounds to the food table. They had a stuffed ravioli station [beef or spinach w/ marinara sauce]. You only get one of each on your plate, but you can come back for more. They had a meat station with turkey [i think it was turkey] and that was really good. They also had a cheese/ham and crackers station and a veggie station. I enjoyed my little appetizers and pre dinner show. They seat you by the color of your ticket and we got orange. The inside of this place where the actual show occurs was really nice. Its not too big inside so wherever row you sit [[which is also already picked by whats on your ticket]] has a nice view. So as people were coming in to sit, our server passed around salad. So im gettin ready to eat it and i look up and our pirate, Andre, goes "HEY! come here!" "Huh? Me?" "What?" I point to my friend HOPING he was looking at her..... NOPE, he just picked me to be a part of the show! "ahhhh crap!" is what i think as Im walking down to the front.... i just wanted to eat and watch the show. He tells me that I'm going to be in the 4th competition, which is a tie breaker. more

I loved the show 3/23/2011

It was perfect! I loved the show. My kids got involved and loved it too. I would definitely come again. more

Very large food portions 3/11/2011

$25 for dinner and a show is not a bad deal at all. It's not Shakespeare but it's not supposed to be. You start off roaming around in the lobby area and while apparently the drinks are overpriced per the rest of the reviews, we stuck with the free appetizers and they actually weren't all that bad. Two girls come out with trays of various snacks but the best part is around the corner. If you walk around over by where the actual entry to the auditorium is you'll find a guy carving pork loin and it's pretty good. Served on a little piece of bread and it's probably the same pork served at the show. We both had the chicken and it was a very large portion. You get an entire 1/2 chicken and after having some of the pork pre-show, you won't go home hungry. You get your choice of soup or salad and they give you a choice of rice or mashed potatoes with the entree, endless soda pitcher and an apple/ice cream dessert at the end. As far as the actual show, it's just alright. There's a lot of fighting and acrobatics which is probably all you can ask for but there are a few little pluses I won't give away. Just like the place next door that has the horrible customer service, they assign you to one of six sections and each section has a color corresponding to your pirate. It's not the kind of place you'd want to go back to all that often but it's a lot of fun to see and it's great for kids as they get to participate in the show. No problems with rowdy patrons and the servers were very attentive and friendly. Based on the value for the money and accomplishing what they're trying to do, I give them 4 stars. more

They are VERY interactive with the audience 3/8/2011

great show! My only personal complaint is that the dialogue/plot was very hard to follow. Did I care that much? Not really. The theatrics, fighting, and sword fighting was fun to watch and be a part of. They are VERY interactive with how many audience members they try to bring into it. I think they brought in at least 50 different audience members throughout the show, which I thought ROCKED! Of course, this is only fun if you are into any of the following: theater musicals pirates interactive shows go with kids, a group of friends or on a date. As long as you guys are into it, it's worth going once. The food is just so-so, but hey, it is a dinner theater afterall. You get your choice between: rotisserie chicken, mexican rice with broccoli two pork chop slices with bbq sauce on it, mashed potatoes with broccoli go with the rotisserie chicken, it was way better than the two small slices of dried pork. Alcohol seemed expensive too. I got an idea somewhere that there was free beer for the first two beers, but maybe I misunderstood. Perhaps it was the preshow that I missed, not sure. more

Two thumbs up 3/4/2011

Ok so if you are looking for a 5 course meal or a Broadway show this place is not for you. But if you want to have a nice time, a decent meal and friendly staff I give it two thumbs up. I did read all of the other reviews here and at a gang of other places. Mostly they are p.o. at the price, food quality and that this is not as cool as Knott's and DL. Well that is true, but it was half of the price of M-Evil Times. Maybe next time I will do M-times so i have a point of reference.... more

Great birthday party 3/3/2011

Birthday Celebration time! woo hoo! my nephew turned 6 while we were visiting Anaheim and what better way can you think to celebrate a birthday than with pirates! ARRRGGG! We bought our tickets online, and saved ourselves 10/ticket. bonus! We arrived 90 minutes early and decided to go with the upgraded package for a cake and birthday announcement... $28 not bad! (for our entire party of 8) The 90 minutes went by really really quickly, as we were entertained with the backstory the whole time. My 16 year old son was volunteered, courtesy of myself and his aunt, to participate in the show, he got to be a can can dancer. hahah got some good pictures out of that one! The food wasnt fabulous, but it was decent. for $46 and some change, we got chicken, some beef that tasted similiar to pot roast, and veggies. Started off with a very simple salad and coke. Dessert included apple pie a la mode. (at least i think it was apple pie, its pretty dark in there) everything was decent, nothing to remember it by. but you dont go there for the gourmet food, do you. Thats why the show was so great, i think everyone in my party got to participate in some way, which is why this adventure is so much better than Medieval times! My husband was the stevador, I was the cannon master, my son got to raise the sails, and birthday boy, he got to go on the boat and get sworn in as a pirate. we had so much fun! and our pirate was HILARIOUS. and these men are athletic! All in all, it was so worth the money, for the great time to be had! Thank you, Pirate Saxton, for making our trip memorable! We will visit again when we come back in the summer! more

I had a wonderful time 2/28/2011

ok...i read other reviews before i went and I didn't have high expectations. so in short i had a wonderful fun time and I would recommend others to go with the notion of not to expect toooo much more

Good times Matey! 2/25/2011

Since we did Medieval times on the last trip, we decided to check out things here at the Pirate's Dinner Adventure. WOW! Okay, I hate to say it but this was even better and more worth the top dollar paid than for the adventure over at the Medieval Times. At first, you get to walk around and enjoy whore dervz like tasty meatballs and my all time fave...CHEESE. Then you get to watch a lil air acrobats show with half naked ladies and jack sparrow types---fun for kids of all ages. Then it is on to the show where you are seated surrounding a pirate ship and get to watch plank walking, pirate fighting and a bunch of audience interaction. Of course you also get to root for your section's assigned pirate. This was really fun because the party of 10 or so directly behind us had been downing gallons of Rum with all their pirate BOOTY. Good times Matey! ARGHHHH! more

Swashbuckling fun! 2/22/2011

Have you ever gone to Medieval Times and thought, "This would be so much sweeter if it were pirates fighting, instead of knights?" Well then this is the place for your swashbuckling self. It has the same premise: thematic dinner while watching a live action show. The portions are large and surprisingly good. There is no shortage of alcohol and the wait staff is friendly and spirited. I personally chose this venue as the location for my last birthday and it was everything I could have hoped for. They easily accommodate large parties and have different celebration options. Even better: they answer the phone as a pirate, to get you right into the spirit of things. more

nice 2/17/2011

I cant complain about anything cause I came out of there stuffed more

If you're into pirate adventures I recommend checking it out 2/16/2011

The kids enjoyed it so I think that's what matters the most. The food was ok. The entertainment for me was fun I think because 3 of the 5 of us got to participate in the show. I loved that they had LOTS of things to snack on before the show started for FREE. If you're into pirate adventures I recommend checking it out especially if you have children :) more

Good loud fun!!! 2/10/2011

I went on saturday night, to suprise my boyfriend for his birthday. I've been years ago to the show in Florida and thought it was great. We arrived an hour and a half before the show, had a picture with a pirate, threw on my yellow headband, enjoyed the free appetizers and visited gift shops. During the pre-show my boyfriend participated and had a blast. DON'T miss the preshow!! The show will not make sense if you miss it. Otherwise, the food was suprisingly good. My chicken was moist despite the other reviews. Good loud fun!!! Jokes intended for adults, plenty of games and participation for children. OF course there are going to be some cheesy acting and games, but what did you expect? Thats the fun part about it!!! Kick back and enjoy yourself. more

We loved this show! 2/9/2011

We loved this show! My hubby (then boyfriend) took me there for a surprise. I'd never been to this kind of dinner with a show before, everything was very joyful for me. The pre-show before the real show was very fun, with parrot and pirates jumped on the table, screaming and fighting. We were laughing so hard, and I think our drinks and beer plus the free appetizers (sausages, meatballs, etc.) must've helped to make everything look funnier. The show was fine, the part that we cheered for our green pirate was more fun. The food however, to my surprise, was very yummy, big portion and very tasty. I had two free rounds of red wine (but I don't think they offer that anymore,) which was very nice! The servers there work really hard, so remember to tip them well. more

great 2/7/2011

The actors and actresses sang fantastically. It was romantic, adventurous, exciting; just like what I expected a pirates show would be. And seeing my little cousin go up the stage was an experience I will never forget. more

Our server was GREAT! 2/1/2011

Thanks for including the kids! Made it for them! Our server helped make this a lot. She was GREAT. We appreciate her! She worked hard and politely. more

always had a great time. 1/25/2011

I've gone to this dinner/show twice in the pass few years and i am always content when leaving, Not sure if its because of the cash liquor bar though ..lol But never the less i have always had a great time. I recommend to show up 1 hour 1/2 before the show starts so you can watch the preview show and hit all the appetizer bars ( approximately 6- 8 of them) but we were a bit late so didnt get a chance to hit even one!.. Ohhh and dont forget the liquor bar!. Also join their pirate club a few days before you order the tickets so you can get some great discounts. The food is good, The service is great, The show is entertaining. Its a nice change to your ohhhh so regular dinner out. The only wondering question i still have is when i ordered the tickets over the phone, The girl who helped me said there was a additional $4.00 tip charge per ticket ,Thinking this was how the waiters and such gathered their tip money i had no problem with it, but at the end of the meal you are given a little card that encourages you to tip again!.. $5.00....what???. I felt it was worth paying a extra $10.00 a person to sit within the first 3 rows of the show but probably because i wasnt asked to hold my pirates flag. P.S It may confuse you at the end of the show when everyone starts singing the YMCA song.. Cause i dont get the connection to that and pirates either but i just figured it was a bonus round for all the drunk people who seemed to really enjoy it!..lol Either way, Its fun. So go have a great time! more

this was a really good show 1/21/2011

i thought that this show was really good. went with a couple of my friends. they had good cheeses and appetizers before the actual show. and we had really good seats, so that was good. it was so entertaining. and there was so much food. you pretty much had to eat with your hands though. kind of going along with the motif. it's cute how they really get the kids involved. more

We had a great time. 1/14/2011
