Celebrated my anniversary here and I will definitely be here again. Reggae music plays softly as you take in the beautiful view along the river. The staff was extrememly accommodating, pleasant and courteous. Our server was very knowledgable about their extensive menu and spent time with us discussing the specialty entrees. We waited a little bit for the food, but it was on a busy Saturday night so it was expected. It was worth the wait though. The entrees were of generous portions and absolutely delicious. Overall it was a terrific evening of great food, drinks and service. more

We came here multiple times on our vacation via the water taxi. It was beyond great. The staff is fun and personable and they have a great memory of their guests. They really make you feel at home. The mojitos are fabulous. Then there's the food! I ate dishes I couldn't pronounce but was dreaming of them later. It's located on the water so it's a nice view too. This will be our first stop next visit. more

Located on the river, this restaurant is a nice change from the usual on Las Olas or the beach. First time I came here was for happy hour, then I brought my family that weekend. Most dishes have a caribbean flair and are seafood oriented, although they do have chicken and steaks too. The atmosphere is laid back and the wenches are helpful and attentive but not intruisive. Great food, service and overall experience every time I come. more

The service here is the best I see in a while. Prompt, attentive and courteous. This is our first time in Florida and the great lunch we had will be memorable. We had ubatuba shrimp with arugula salad and a steak. The shrimp was a nice creamy cheese dish and the steak was cooked perfect. Both dishes are wonderful. Try the brownie dessert too, but remember to come with empty stomach. more

Our server was super friendly and she made our lunch a wonderful experience. There is a lot of fish dishes to choose from, along with shrimp, steaks and sandwiches. We tried both their new shirmp and seafood bowl dishes. 5 stars for the chef. This is by far the best seafood in Fort Lauderdale, and we have tried all the hot spots on Las Olas. We will be back and will send our guests and family. more

The staff here is great, prompt and friendly. Food was very good and very plentiful. The clam chowder with the bread bowl was phenomenal and my summer salad with mahi was delicious. We will be coming again and again. more

We had a great experience. Food has evolved so much in the past few years, so diverse with an amazing fish selection. Everyone was very nice and knowledgable about the menu. Big portions, so come hungry. Patron margarita was also delicious. High marks for everything. more

It was awesome here. We came on a very busy Saturday night. Had I known, I would have made a reservation to sit on the dock, but all the seating still have water views. The waitress recommended the Pirate Bowl to start with, which is their signature dish. Then we ordered the garlic shrimp and spanish chicken. All the food was amazing and the entire staff was attentive. It was probably one of the best dinners out I've had in a long time. A friendly, fun and personal experience. more

Best service, meal and drinks in Fort Lauderdale. Excellent server, very friendly, even with a big rush she took good care of us. Really enjoyed the Tahiti Bowl and the Barbados Shrimp. The seafood is fresh and the recipes are original. We were here in town from the islands and this was a very fun place to come and eat. We will definitely come back when in town again. more

We come to this restaurant every time we visit South Florida. Awesome food and awesome drinks. I've never seen such a hussle in a staff. A very positive atmosphere. Times can be slightly long on busy nights, but WELL worth it. Gives us time to drink some more! We will always come back. more

First visit and it won't be our last. Our waitress was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable with the menu. I told here what I was in the mood for and she picked out a dish that was perfect! Had the Brazilian fish with baked cheese. Best fish I ever had. Husband had the pirate bowl and it was also A+. A total enjoyment. more

Bad service!! Came to restaurant with a group and ordered their shrimp Alfredo. While everyone else who had the Alfredo had loads of cream was dry. So, I requested a small bowl of extra cream sauce and never received it, then I requested another order of alfredo because the original had gotten cold. Never receieved that order, so I went to a restaurant for dinner and had to stop to get fast food. POINTLESS! more

This place is right on the New River and they have free dock space. Our "wench" was very sweet and hospitable. We went on a Saturday afternoon so there was a short wait, but it was worth it. The food is not the average bar food I expected, and there is so much to choose from. It's mostly seafood dishes, but they do have other options. There's stuff for children too. more

I am a server at the pirate republic, and there were no complaints about anything. There was not a long wait for food, and we asked the rest of the servers and there was no complaints. Not only were things running smoothly for our guests, everyone was enjoying themselves, and the owner would not be that disrespectful. We have a great atmosphere here and thrive on obtaining this daily. We love our boss. more

Horrible service ! Don't go here! The owner is a complete jerk who yells at his staff and disrespects customers. We waited over an hour for food and still not everyone got what they ordered. Another hour and still no food for some. The owner would not come to the table after 6 requests. Finally after threatening to not pay he came and said it wasn't fair to him if we didn't pay. He didn't want to comp us anything for the wait and poor service. Don't go to this place. Guy is a jerk. more

I did not expect to find such good food here! From the Water Taxi, it looked like a fun but touristy place. Instead we found mellow but friendly service and fantastic food. I had the Mediteranean Mahi. It was delish. We started with the heart healthy (ha ha) fspicy fried cheese balls. Yum! Really a good experience. more

This was a nice dining experience. It's located right on the water and has a nice view of the area buidlings. They had a band playing music by the pool (yes! A pool!). I had the chicken pasta made with Jack Daniel's whiskey. It was delicious! And so was the Pirate Bowl, a great recommendation by the waitress. more

Love the outside waterfront experience. My grouper was a tad salty but everything else was awesome, especially the mussels. And the owner was right, the Ilha Bela Chicken was wonderful! The server was also very helpful and patient with us ordering. more
