Very Romantic Restaurant! 1/15/2009

I dined at the Old Pink House for the first time last month. It was highly recommended by the conceirge at my hotel. Happy to say that we were very pleased with the excellent service and food options. The chef even did a little something extra with shrimp for my date. Great choice...I'd definitely go back. Pros: Food Menu Choices, Staff Cons: None to Note more

An absloute must in Savannah! 9/30/2008

I can't begin to tell you what a wonderful first time dinning experience we had in Savannah. All the excellent restaurants to choose from can be a bit overwhelming. I an glad we didn't overlook this absloutely wonderful restaurant. From the old civil war decor to the very very good food. And hats off to the staff as they gave us a little tour and history of this old house that really made us feel comfortable and welcome. I can see why The Olde Pink House is one of Savannah's best places to eat, it was definitely the cherry on top! Pros: Ambience and service Cons: Limited parking more

perfect example of southern hospitality 9/29/2008

my boyfriend and i went there to eat on a whim, it was our first time in Savannah...the house is beautiful!! so many different dining areas that i lost count. the layout is that of an old southern house (it was one of the ony houses to survive the savannah fire) and the decor is truly old civil war southen style, it looks very upscale (white linen table clothes and waiters in ties) but we went in t shirts and shorts and fit right in. the food was excellent ( i highly recommend the pork tenderloin), may not be the most traditional southern food you would think of, but they do have collard greens, execellent mashed potatoes and she crab soup. the wait staff was very attentive, but not overbearing, lots of yes ma'ams and yes sirs, and will tell you about the history of the house. by far the best meal that we had in savannah!! Pros: execellent food and ambience Cons: looked like parking was an issue more

Outstanding food , service and ambiance! A Savannah classic romantic night out. 8/10/2008

This is a Savannah must. My husband and I have been twice, the first time on our honeymoon. It is so romantic, beautiful and breathtaking. This historic mansion offers the best food, service and ambiance. We always speak so highly of Savannah, and always recommend The Olde Pink House! Thank you for wonderful memories! more

Great food - disorganized service 8/3/2008

We had reservations for 5 on Saturday evening - so there weren't very many other guests in the restaurant...lots of servers and dining room managers hanging around. Our drink orders and food orders were taken quickly and we got bread and salad. Then we waited and waited and waited. Other tables arrived and were served and we continued to wait for our entrees. 45 minutes later, the entrees arrived and were delicious and our server returned one time to check that everything was good. Then he was MIA for nearly another 40 minutes. Needless to say, we had to ask the dining room manager for the check before anybody came back to ask us if we wanted dessert. We loved the food, but there is no reason to spend the whole evening waiting for it - or the server. Make the food, serve it in a reasonable amount of time, and we might return some day for the food. Never had better steak... Pros: Good Food Cons: Servers need training. We've had consistently better service at the Outback Steakhouse. more

Love It! 7/18/2008

This place is so fabulous. I was really impressed with the service. The food was great! It is awesome how they can take a house and make it into such a beautful functional restaurant. I would definitely go back. it's one of the many places worth going to in Savannah Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

Great Food- Bizarre Service- Ghosts Can Apply 7/9/2008

We had a party of four and had reservations. All of us were very excited to eat dinner\r at the Olde Pink House - heard lots of good things about it. Our waitress seated us\r in a very nice private area upstairs. It was quiet and serene looking over the square.\r That was about the last moment of quiet and serene we had all night. The food was\r absolutely wonderful but out service was bizarre beyond compare. The waitress started\r out telling ghost stories to the table next to us. Served us our entrees and we mentioned\r we hadn't been served our soups and salads yet. She had the nerve to say go ahead\r and eat your entrees and soups and salads will be coming soon. I said that we would\r not have our entrees until we had the soups and salads first. The restaurant floor\r manager was with the waitress when this happened and did say she was very sorry and our\r salads and soups were on the house. Entrees took forever - and the waitress said she\r was detained by a couple taking a picture on the floor below and a ghost appeared in\r the picture. At that point we would have been happy to have a ghost appear and\r serve our meal. She got our dessert order wrong and the entire meal took\r three hours. Food was fabulous. Service bizarre. Pros: Great food Cons: Bizarre service more

The Pink House Open for LUNCH! 6/12/2008

I recently found that the Pink House is now open for lunch!! I know of many people that have eaten there for dinner and have mainly commented on how great the house itself is and how wonderful the food tastes. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the house was just as charming during the day, with seating both inside and outside, and the menu was perfect for lunch. I was not planning on ordering an appetizer for lunch, or dessert for that matter, but the waitress was wonderful in pairing items together and suggesting things that would be enough to fill me up but not overwhelming. My waitress was also more than willing to answer all of my questions about the menu. I recommend the Pink House not only for the food but for the fantastic service! I give this new venture of the Pink House a big thumbs up! Pros: Great food, fast for lunch, service more

Overrated 4/12/2008

Very dissapointing and not romantic, as touted. The upstairs room was old and not terribly asthetic. Although our table was one of two most requested according to a hostess, my view was through a tree to a parking garage. My wife at least had a peek at the square below. The wine list was shallow and resembled a supermarket selection. The ""French"" Pinot Noir (not Burgundy) was described as ""French grapes bottled in California""? At $30 a bottle I thought I would take a chance. You would find this one stocked near the bottom shelf. Although asparagus were fresh and in season, the chef chose to use something not local, ditto the hericot vert, which our nervous waiter just loved to repeat over and over. Even though we had 2 waiters assigned to our table, my wife's she-crab soup arrived long before she was finished with her salad course. When the timing mistake was identified, the soup was removed and returned some 15 minutes later served just barely hot enough. The drizzling of sherry tableside was an unnecessary bit of showmanship. I recommend Harry's in St. Augustine here. My wife's mojito was ""not the real deal"" as described by the waiter (who was from Miami). Hmmm, perhaps he could enlighten the bartender? The crab cake was soggy and left uneaten. My grilled flounder with fruit chutney was adequate. The hostess reappeared and I let her know I was not happy at all with the service, mentioning that two other tables had eaten and departed. She removed the apps and the soup from the bill, and could not justify tipping our waitstaff. Avoid The OldePink House. more

Savannah's Most Beautiful Restaurant! Beautiful Fresh Seafood & Staff! Very Romantic! 2/6/2007

Thank goodness General Sherman didn't burn down Savannah, like he did Atlanta. The Old Pink House sits right on one of those famous squares, that dot the downtown historic district. Pale pink exterior, that invites one in for one of the most romantic dining spots anywhere. Fireplaces, especially good this time of year, antiques, and a very caring staff. Start with the best She-Crab soup you will ever have in your life, with just the right amount of Sherry. All the fresh seafood entree's are wonderful, especially the crab-cakes and seared scallops. You might want to dress casual-dressy, and you will fit right in. Be prepared to hear the ghost stories. And finish the night downstairs, in the small intimate bar. Old Pink House is one of the places that makes Savannah, special and romantic! Pros: Wonderful Romantic, Historical Dining! Great Staff! more

Delicious Food 12/19/2006

My now-fiance took me to this restaurant the night we got engaged. He was trying to set a romantic mood with not only the food, but the atmosphere. He requested I dress up and he wore a suit. I ended up wearing a cocktail dress. We were over-dressed. Most of the others in the restaurant were in casual clothes. However, that was the only thing I wasn't completely satisfied with. The dinner was absolutely enchanting. The staff was so friendly and kept us in a light mood. The flour-less chocolate cake (a personal favorite of ours) was amazing. It's something you should not miss out on. I can't remember exactly what we ate, but we had two different dinners and and appetizer. I tried his and he tried mine and it was all phenomonal. I can't wait to go back. The park across the road is also a bonus at dark! Pros: food, service, lighting Cons: parking, noise more

Romantic Savannah dining at its best 11/20/2006

My boyfriend and I went to the restaurant during our trip to Savannah November 8-12. The house really stands out along the square and has a lot of history, which we heard all about on our tour. We headed first to the bar downstairs, which was amazing. It was crowded, had a piano player, and a roaring fire. I ordered a cosmo, and being from the NY area, I didn't expect it to be as yummy and well-made as it was. The atmosphere in the bar is great and I would highly recommend going there before you eat. Upstairs, the place has a feeling of a house museum only it is a bustling restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. I started with the special salad, which was excellent. I then had the beef tenderloin and all of it was great. The food was delicious, the wine list was great, the service was friendly and fast. Our waitress told us about the ghosts she has seen there and tried to help us find them in the room. I can't say enough. Go! Enjoy! make reservations! Pros: Romantic, Delicious food, great bar more

relaxing and romantic 6/13/2006

My husband and I ate here while vacationing in Savannah and were very pleased. To begin with, this restaurant is (as the name suggests), located in a beautifully preserved historic home. This is nice for 2 reasons. 1: the fireplaces and paintings give it a very homey feel (not at all like your typical restaurant). And 2: the rooms of the home partition the tables nicely, giving you a bit of extra privacy. The only other people in our room were an older couple. The atmosphere was very serene and relaxed. Our waiter was unbelievable. Probably one of the most articulate and well-informed waiters Ive ever come across. And the food, which was certainly southern inspired, was excellent. It was a little bit pricey, but I would certainly recommend this place for a special evening. Pros: service; food; ambience more

Yum 6/2/2006

The food was amazing - some of the best seafood I've ever had! I ""don't like crab"", but I very much liked the crab soup! The service was wonderful as well - very professional, yet personable as well. Easily on par with many of the restaurants I've been to in New York. Definitely want to make a reservation. Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere Cons: Tight entryway more

Who can think this food is good? 3/30/2006

My husband and I both have been in the restaurant business, which does not make us experts, but...my husband is a bit of a connoiseur when it comes to food and did not enjoy the food here. I, on the other hand, am not a connoisseur and grew up with my mother's bland cooking. I will eat almost anything. With that said, not only was the food at The Olde Pink House not worth the money, but it was simply bland! Never been to fine dining I didn't like until this one! There are so many other nice restaurants in Savannah, including those in historic buildings, so PLEASE don't waste your money! Pros: historic home, tavern Cons: food, parking, value more

The food at the Olde Pink House was quite possibly the best I have ever had or ever will have in a restaurant. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. more

A historic site can't be a restaurant???? 8/14/2005

The food was below averege, the service was good but very loud. I will say next time we will make a difference between going to a musium and going out to have a good relaxing meal... Pros: historic, good service Cons: loud, crowded, expensive more

Prepare for a Wonderful Evening Out 7/5/2005

The Olde Pink House was a wonderful experience. We had made reservatoins for 9:45, but arrived early and thought that we might take a shot at being seated. To our surprise we were immediately seated by a staff that seemed to by genuinely happy to serve us. The service was prompt and our waitress engaging. Then came the food!! What a treat! One comment from our table was that it was one of the top ten meals they have ever had period. The menu is pricy, but it is worth it for the experience. Pros: food and service, history, atmosphere more
