I went to the Pine Taver for dinner with my mother because locally, its legendary for a cozy atmosphere, and great food. However, our experience didn't even come close to measuring up with the hype. Upon walking in the front door, we knew we made a mistake, and it only got worse after that. Despite the cute exterior of the building, the interior is very ""Denny's"". The menu offerings are barely palatable (below average) and the salad bar is scary. I ordered a salmon burger, based on the great menu description. But when it arrived I was sadly disappointed. The bun was soaked, and the fries were withered and ice cold. My mothers salad (from the bar) was brown and unappatazing, and her soup had an oily residue on top. Our server was disorganized, unprofessional and I'm not sure she was old enough to drive. Plus, the entire restaurant reeked of that ""dishroom"" smell. Really, the only thing interesting about the Pine Tavern, is its location near the river. In my opinion, If you really want a view of the river while you eat, just go next door to the BBC (and get a better beer too)!!
Pros: Deschutes River
Cons: Everthing Else
