so lets get a reality check here....Do it Best in Arcata is far better on pricing for anything Piersons carrys , lets be clear on this the Family of the Piersons has had a monopol...

so lets get a reality check here....Do it Best in Arcata is far better on pricing for anything Piersons carrys , lets be clear on this the Family of the Piersons has had a monopoly on anything to do with hardware and lumber and have fought every attempt by Home Depot to come in the area, also for those of you that have been around long enough to remember Pay and Pak the day that Pay and Pak started closing Piersons building supply did a compleate mark up and repricing tof the entire store. Basically because the price compitition was gone they now could do what the Renners have been doing to use with fuel prices in this area over inflating prices to make millions off our backs over the years.... I would rather drive 60 miles north to Home Depot than to ever give Piersons another cent of my money..\r I would rather shop at the new Do it Best in Arcata whos lumber prices are far tfar better than Piersons and the other prices ARE less than Piersons as well.AVOID this place at all costs.... more

No one can beat them!!!!! 8/17/2010

I have to say. Brian in the plumbing Department. And especially (a Man that was going on vacation soon,I didnt catch his name) THEY ARE THE BEST! I have looked from Mckinleyville to Fortuna for the Shower surround I needed and no one could even understand what I was looking for. and even after hours of explaining they didnt know. I went to Pierson's. The first person i talked to knew what I needed EXACTLY! Not to mention-IT WAS IN STOCK!!!!!! I almost cried!!!!! THEY ARE THE BEST IN HUMBOLDT COUNTY!!!!!!!\r \r Not to mention the people back there in Electrical ! They saved my life and really explained everything to the "T" for me. I love the prices on everything ! I know this because I have spent all month trying to find the best places. I have done the home work. Pierson's I think beats them all. more

Four star service, these guys are helpful and knowledgeable . They also have just about everything you need. If however price is a big issue they certainly arn't the cheapest but if your looking to make one stop and get it all this is your place. They also have an awesome garden shop. more

The best nursury, hardware store and building center in town! 10/31/2005

Piersons is your one stop do it yourself shop. They have it all and a great staff to help you get it done. The prices are the best in town and they get even better during their many sales. The seperate garden center is gorgeous and the staff there can help you with all of your gerden needs. Stop by, grab a cup of free coffee and spend the day browsing, check out the local artisan gifts during the holidays and let Piersons help you get it done! PROS: the staff can help you with everything, they know it all. HUGE selection. CONS: none! more

the place for home and garden 9/20/2005

Piersons ALWAYS goes above and beyond with you. They've helped me save so much money in unneeded labor and parts I can't thank them enough. The sales are wonderful and they always have what I need. PROS: informative, helpful staff, wonderful prices, free coffee! CONS: none! more
