My name is Jim Smith, my brother was Melvin Smith, who worked for your company many years and recently passed away at his home. I know that Pickle Iron went well over 100% with him and bent over backwards to help him and he didnt try to help himself like he should of. I know he lacked friends and didnt communicate well with co-workers or any person. I had a lifetime of that with him and our relationship faded in the past years. The only time the company did what they promised was when they arrived on time to bid and collect the 50% deposit on my new entry gates. The company delivered the masonry anchors a week later than promised. When it came time to take the final measurements, I was to meet them and discuss some changes, they never came that Friday night (i called and they said they would come Saturday) They never showed, (went bass fishing instead I later learned) but I waited at home all day. When they finally got the measurements it took months to finally get the gates installed and despite dozens of calls they would not tell me the cost of the changes (I called them no less than a dozen times to inquire and went to their office as well) until two days before the gate was installed. Then they screwed me on the price. I would never use them again or recommend them to anybody. Stay away from pickle iron. more

Extremely poor workmanship and customer relations, very undependable. Even bad at cover-ups. (Full Review) A 1 day job has been going on for 3 weeks and is still not completed.Installers have been doing an extremely poor job and having to redo several times over. They put the oak panels in backwards in 1/2 of the sections of wrought iron fence and used 2 different patterns and 2 different sizes. None of the sections are the same size. One end of the fence was installed 18 inches off the ground. They added extensions that didn't match up. The gates were not straight because the post and sections were way off level. This hasn't been fixed. Supervisors are rude, belligerant, and sarcastic. The supervisor's answer to the fence being so far off the ground and consequently having botched extensions was to Plant flowers in front of it so you can't see it. There are many more
