Photo Village Inc

I wanted a Canon lens. I called everywhere. Photo Village was the only place to have it. Need I say more? YES, I NEED SAY MORE! I got there and it was an easy-going atmosphere you don't often find in retail stores. The salesperson was chill, the staff seemed nice, like they actually ENJOYED what they were doing. It was a breath of fresh air in the often cynical Big Apple. more

I love this place. It's not some superstore, or K-Mart style electronics giant. If you want something specific, this is the place. The sales staff all seem to be experts in Leica, and when I went for my camera and some lenses they had everything in stock. I can't say the same for the places I looked at before I found The Photo Village. Highly recommended. more

This lovely boutique hidden away inside a flatiron office building is filled with treasures. I was able to obtain a 5dM2 and scarce lens that were out of stock on B&H and the clerk spent over an hour explaining to me the various choices. The place is small, but amazingly they keep pulling out things from unexpected nooks with just a mention of them. I was also able to obtain a beautiful camera bag that I have not seen anywhere else in NYC and that fit my iPhone perfectly in a removable pouch. Wonderful shop. Darna more

I have visited several Leica boutiques, including the shop in Monterey, Tamarkin, when it was in the city, and Kurland. These shops are much better than the mega stores for purchasing Leica equipment. I found the Photo Village to have excellent service, with knowledgeable staff and fine selection of lenses and viewfinders and cases. Will, with whom I have dealt with on two occasions is a particularly good salesperson. more

Placed an order for some limited edition books with Rich Pinto, back in 2008. Left a $2500 deposit for the books. Waited for the books to arrive. After Rich received the books, he proceeded to change the terms of the invoice, changing the quantity I ordered, the price agreed upon, and the accepted form of payment, requiring a bank wire. While doing this he has refused to refund my deposit or honor the terms of the first invoice. I have tried repeatedly to pay for the items, and have asked for my deposit back. Rich refuses to do either. He has my deposit, and refuses to give it back. I would be hesitant to do business in the future with The Photo Village, as there business practices are questionable, to me, so my words of advice are BUYER BEWARE!!!! I wish i had read something like this before deciding to do business with THE PHOTO VILLAGE, or I have now had to take PHOTOVILLAGE, and RICH PINTO to court, in order to get my deposit back. Pros: NONE AT THIS POINT Cons: Poor Business Practices. more
